Yes. In OBS Studio, add a local video as a Media Source and enable Loop. For several devotional videos, use a VLC Video source with a playlist and enable Loop Playlist. This repeats playback in OBS; it does not guarantee an uninterrupted internet connection or that YouTube will keep the broadcast available.
Loop one devotional video in OBS
- Add the file: In your OBS scene, select Sources, click +, choose Media Source, and create a source. Browse to and select your video file. OBS lists common supported local formats including MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and WebM. OBS Media Sources
- Enable repetition: In the Media Source properties, check Loop, then click OK. The file should restart after it reaches the end.
- Check the output: Confirm that the video appears in the OBS preview and that its sound registers in the audio mixer. OBS combines scene sources into the stream output. OBS Scenes and Sources
Use a single Media Source when you want one recording to repeat. It is the simpler option because it does not require VLC.
Loop a playlist of devotional videos
- Install VLC: OBS needs VLC installed for the VLC Video source to appear. If using 64-bit OBS, install 64-bit VLC. OBS Media Sources
- Add the playlist source: In Sources, click + and choose VLC Video. Create the source and add the video files to its playlist.
- Set how it plays: Enable Loop Playlist to repeat the playlist after it reaches the end. Use shuffle if you want the files played in a different order rather than sequentially.
- Review playback: Check the preview and audio mixer before going live. Confirm that the playlist contains the intended files and that the audio levels are usable.
A playlist is useful when you want several recordings to run in sequence or shuffle. Its additional requirement is VLC, with the correct architecture for your OBS installation. OBS Media Sources
Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Check channel eligibility: YouTube requires a verified, live-enabled channel without a current live-stream restriction. Eligibility and restrictions are set by YouTube and can affect whether you can start a broadcast. YouTube: Get started with live streaming
- Create or schedule an encoder stream: Open YouTube Studio and start or schedule a stream using the encoder workflow. Use the stream setup details shown there to connect OBS; follow YouTube’s current instructions for the stream key and connection. YouTube: Get started with live streaming
- Start the OBS output: Once the scene is ready and YouTube’s setup is in place, start streaming from OBS and confirm that the broadcast appears in YouTube Studio.
The OBS loop controls local media playback, while the encoder connection carries the scene to YouTube. A computer, OBS process, power supply, and internet connection that stop working can interrupt delivery; looping alone cannot prevent those failures.

Know what happens to a very long broadcast
Replays and archives
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived. Streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you need a complete replay, keep a local recording as a backup rather than assuming YouTube will preserve the whole broadcast. YouTube: Archive live streams
Rewinding during the live stream
DVR rewind can be limited or unavailable for very long live streams, including streams longer than 12 hours. Viewers arriving late may not be able to rewind to an earlier part of the broadcast. YouTube: DVR on live streams

Clear devotional music and video for live use
Only stream recordings for which you have the necessary rights for live use on YouTube. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content matches. A match can lead to a placeholder and warning; if the content remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. Even licensed content may be interrupted unless the rights holder adds your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube: Copyright issues with live streams

- Confirm that permissions cover the specific recording, composition, video, and any background music you use in the live stream.
- Ask the rights holder whether your YouTube channel must be added to a Content ID allowlist, even if you have a license.
- Do not assume a license for an ordinary video upload also grants live-stream rights.
Creator Music is not a live-stream music license
YouTube says Creator Music tracks are for long-form videos and cannot be used in live streams. Choose devotional music only when its rights cover live use on YouTube. YouTube: Creator Music
Monetization is a separate question
Setting up a repeating video does not make a channel eligible for monetization. YouTube’s monetization policies apply to live streams, and content that does not meet applicable policies may receive limited or no ad earnings. Whether a particular channel or repetitive devotional loop qualifies depends on the channel and content; do not treat the OBS loop setting as a promise of earnings. Troubleshoot the common setup problems
- The video stops at the end: Open the Media Source properties and check Loop. For a playlist, check Loop Playlist in the VLC Video source.
- VLC Video is missing from the source menu: Install VLC, then confirm its architecture matches OBS. OBS documents that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC. OBS Media Sources
- The scene has no picture or sound: Check that the correct file is selected, then inspect the OBS preview and audio mixer. Verify the source is visible in the scene and that its audio is not muted.
- OBS is streaming but YouTube is not receiving it: Check YouTube Studio’s encoder setup and reconnect using the current stream setup shown there. Also confirm that live streaming is enabled for the channel and that no current restriction prevents it. YouTube: Get started with live streaming
- The broadcast is interrupted after a copyright match: Stop using the matched material unless you have the required live-use rights, and resolve any Content ID allowlisting issue with the rights holder. - The complete long stream is not available as a replay: YouTube may not archive a stream exceeding 12 hours. Keep a local recording when a full archive matters. YouTube: Archive live streams
