Castr lists its plans in US dollars, not as a confirmed India-specific rupee checkout price. Its lowest tier, Starter, is $19.99 month to month or $16.67 per month on annual billing ($199.99 charged for the year). Castr says streams can run without a fixed duration limit while the subscription is active and has enough bandwidth—but the plan’s bandwidth allowance and what happens when it runs out are central to whether it suits a 24/7 YouTube stream.
What Castr costs: published plans and bandwidth
The figures below are the prices and allowances Castr publishes on its pricing page. Annual prices are billed upfront for a year; the monthly equivalent is not a month-to-month charge. Castr says annual billing provides two months free and a larger upfront bandwidth pool. Check the billing selector and current terms before subscribing.

These are vendor-listed USD amounts, not a verified total for an Indian customer. The official material reviewed does not establish whether checkout converts to INR, adds GST or other taxes, accepts a particular Indian payment method, or whether the bank will charge a foreign-exchange fee. Check the final checkout amount or ask Castr before committing; a rupee conversion alone would not establish the amount charged.
Can Castr keep a YouTube stream live 24/7?
Yes, subject to the account and bandwidth conditions Castr states. Its Help Center article “Livestream 24/7 With Castr,” by Govinda Sunil and dated December 1, 2022, says: “Castr supports unlimited live streaming duration for your events as long as your subscription is active and has enough streaming bandwidth.” That is a service-side duration claim, not a promise that an encoder, internet connection, YouTube channel, or individual broadcast cannot fail.

For a continuous broadcast, duration alone is not enough to choose a plan. Castr’s March 18, 2026 Help Center article on bandwidth overage says usage can exceed the allowance depending on bitrate, viewers, and duration. Starter and Standard streams are automatically disabled when their allocated bandwidth is exhausted; Premium and higher activate overage protection. Confirm what that protection entails and the current terms before relying on it for uninterrupted viewing.
Estimate whether a plan has enough bandwidth
Bandwidth use depends on both the outgoing video bitrate and how much viewer delivery the service counts. Castr identifies higher bitrate, more viewers, and longer duration as factors in overage; it does not follow that every 24/7 channel will use the same amount. Estimate your expected usage from your actual stream setup and audience, then compare it with the allowance for the billing period you select. Annual billing’s pool is an upfront yearly allowance, not the monthly allowance multiplied into a freely interchangeable monthly balance.

- A YouTube-only broadcaster may not need the plan’s full destination allocation; destination count is separate from bandwidth.
- Do not choose solely by the number of simultaneous streams if you have one channel running continuously. Bandwidth depletion and the applicable disable or overage behavior matter more to that use case.
- If your viewing demand or bitrate is uncertain, ask Castr how it measures viewer delivery and how overage protection is charged or handled before selecting Premium or above.
Getting the stream to YouTube
Castr lists YouTube as a destination. Its setup guidance says to choose a hosting region near the broadcast source for better ingest quality, then connect a destination through account linking or the platform’s server and stream key. The precise source workflow determines whether you need an encoder: Castr’s introduction describes external cameras and camcorders as cases where an encoder may be required, and names OBS, Streamlabs OBS, XSplit, vMix, and Wirecast as software encoder options. It also describes webcam, screen, mobile, tablet, and prerecorded-video workflows that may not require a separate encoder.
Castr also describes cloud playout for scheduling uploaded videos, recordings, and live streams into one continuous channel. That may fit a scheduled or looping channel better than keeping a local camera or encoder live. The published plan comparison does not establish identical limits or bandwidth treatment for every playout workflow, so confirm how your intended setup is billed and supported.

Choosing between Castr plans for one continuous channel
Starter is the lowest published entry point, but its 200 GB monthly allocation and automatic stream disablement at exhaustion make it important to estimate usage first. Standard raises the monthly allocation to 500 GB but has the same stated disable behavior. Premium and higher list overage protection, alongside substantially larger bandwidth allocations and more concurrent streams; that does not make one of them a universal recommendation without knowing bitrate, audience, and workflow. Compare your likely delivery needs with the stated allowance and clarify overage terms before paying.
