Add your logo to the OBS scene as an Image source, place it above the video in the Sources list, and test the encoder output in YouTube Live Control Room before leaving the stream unattended. The overlay controls what viewers see; it does not keep OBS, your computer, or your internet connection running.
Prepare a logo that works over video
OBS Image sources support BMP, TGA, PNG, JPEG/JPG, and GIF files. For a corner logo that should not have an opaque box behind it, use a transparent PNG. Save the image somewhere stable on the computer running OBS so the source can continue to find it.
The logo is an OBS scene graphic, not a special YouTube logo setting. You add and arrange it in OBS, which then includes it in the encoder’s outgoing video. OBS Image Sources
Add the logo to the OBS scene
- Select the stream scene. In OBS, choose the scene that will be used for the YouTube broadcast.
- Create an Image source. In the Sources dock, click +, select Image, create the source, and use Browse to select the logo file.
- Position and size it. Select the logo in the preview and drag its red bounding box to move or resize it. For precise placement, use Edit menu → Transform → Edit Transform. Avoid a fit-to-screen transform when you want a small corner logo; it sizes the selected source to the scene. See the OBS Sources Guide.
- Set the layer order. In Sources, drag the logo above the footage or background source so it renders in front. Keep it below any graphic that is intentionally meant to cover it. Check that the eye icon is on. OBS’s source order determines which elements appear in front of others. OBS Stream Layout Tutorial
- Check every scene you use. A scene switch can change which sources are visible. Make sure the logo is present and visible in each scene where it should appear. If you hide the image source when it is not in use, OBS notes that unloading it frees memory but may cause a short delay before it reappears after a scene change. OBS Image Sources
Connect OBS to YouTube and verify the live output
The overlay can look correct in the OBS preview while the YouTube broadcast is not yet connected. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, obtain the stream URL and key, enter them in OBS’s stream settings, and start the encoder. Check the incoming preview and stream health in Live Control Room before relying on the setup. YouTube recommends testing before an event and monitoring stream health; test the actual scenes, movement, and audio you intend to broadcast. See YouTube’s encoder setup guidance and its encoder settings guidance.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What a 24/7 OBS setup requires
A logo overlay only composes the scene. Continuous broadcasting also depends on the OBS host staying powered on, a working network connection, a stable encoder, and a valid YouTube stream configuration. An OBS-based setup therefore needs the computer running OBS to remain on and connected while it sends the stream.
YouTube’s encoder guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That does not establish that a continuous 24-hour broadcast will be saved as one complete video. Check YouTube’s current guidance when planning an archive for a longer stream. The same guidance identifies Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos; that is a different workflow from an OBS-produced live scene.

Troubleshooting the logo overlay
- The logo is missing: Confirm the source’s eye icon is enabled, that the selected scene contains the source, and that the image file remains at the location OBS expects.
- The logo is behind the video: Move its source above the video or background in the Sources list.
- The logo is too large or misplaced: Adjust its red bounding box in the preview or use Edit menu → Transform → Edit Transform. Do not use fit-to-screen for a corner placement.
- The logo disappears after a scene change: Add or show the source in each scene that needs the logo. If the image is unloaded while hidden, allow for the short time OBS says it may need to reappear.
- The OBS preview looks right but YouTube does not: Check that the encoder is connected using the correct YouTube stream URL and key, then inspect the Live Control Room preview and stream health.
Or let it run in the cloud
