Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteYou can keep a prepared cartoon playlist live on YouTube by sending it through an encoder that loops the video. Before setting it up, secure the rights to every cartoon and audio track for continuous live streaming in the territories you plan to reach. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches, and a 24/7 broadcast may not be archived in full. A simple loop also does not guarantee monetization.
Before you build the stream: confirm rights and channel eligibility
Get permission for the cartoons and audio
You are responsible for having the necessary rights to exploit everything in the live feed, including relevant music rights. Confirm that the license covers continuous YouTube live streaming, the territories you intend to reach, and any archive or monetization plans. Keep written evidence of the permissions. YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions explain the rights responsibility; general platform guidance cannot determine whether a particular cartoon is cleared.
Even when you have a license, a live stream can be interrupted if the rights holder has not allowlisted your channel in Content ID. Ask the rights holder about allowlisting before going live. YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content; a match can result in a placeholder and warning, followed by interruption or termination if the content remains. See Copyright issues with live streams.
Check that the channel can go live
YouTube’s current live-streaming eligibility guidance says the channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16 years old. Check eligibility before investing time in playlist and encoder setup.

Choose an encoder workflow for a prepared playlist
YouTube offers mobile, webcam, and encoder routes. For a pre-made cartoon feed, use an encoder workflow: the encoder sends your prepared video to the stream created in YouTube Live Control Room. Software encoding may suit a less demanding setup; YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production-value events, but dedicated hardware is not a requirement for a 24/7 playlist. If considering a hardware video encoder for live streaming, verify that it accepts your source format and supports the intended YouTube workflow.
Set up and launch the 24/7 stream
- Prepare the playlist source. Organize only cleared cartoons and audio into the order you want, and configure the player or encoder software to repeat the playlist. Confirm the source can continue playing unattended and that its output format is compatible with the encoder.
- Create the YouTube stream. In YouTube Live Control Room, create or schedule the live stream and open its stream settings. Use YouTube’s Manage live stream settings guidance for the current controls.
- Connect the encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key from the YouTube stream settings into the matching encoder fields. A stream key is the connection information the encoder uses to send a feed; treat it like a password and do not publish or share it. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube settings before reconnecting.
- Set output and network capacity. Choose an output resolution, frame rate, and bitrate supported by both your source and connection. YouTube’s cited guidance does not set a single bitrate for every playlist, so follow the current recommendations shown for your chosen format rather than guessing. Keep total outgoing stream bitrate below available upload bandwidth and leave about 20% headroom, as YouTube recommends. On a shared connection, other users and devices can reduce the bandwidth available to the stream.
- Preview before going live. Start the encoder feed, inspect the Live Control Room preview, and verify the stream on the channel/watch page and a mobile device. Check picture, audio, playlist order, and that the loop returns to the beginning as intended. YouTube’s streaming tips recommend setting up ahead of time and monitoring audio and video.
- Go live and monitor. Start the broadcast from the encoder and Live Control Room as required by your workflow. Keep an eye on the live preview and audio/video while the stream runs; prepare a way to restart the source or reconnect the encoder if the feed stops.
Plan for the archive limitation
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. A continuous 24/7 stream therefore should not be treated as a reliable full-length replay. YouTube recommends keeping a local archive backup; decide in advance where it will be recorded and whether that device has sufficient storage and can record continuously. Details are in Archive live streams.

Understand monetization separately from copyright
Having permission to stream cartoons does not itself make the channel eligible for monetization. YouTube applies its monetization policies to live streams and describes reused content as repurposed material without significant original commentary, substantive modification, or added value. A repetitive cartoon compilation can therefore face monetization risk, with eligibility assessed at the channel level; YouTube does not guarantee how it will assess a particular stream. Review YouTube channel monetization policies.
Troubleshoot common failures
- YouTube warns, replaces, or stops the live video: A third-party match may have been detected. Check the alert and the relevant rights; confirm the license covers the stream and ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting. Do not assume a license alone prevents an interruption.
- The encoder cannot connect: Recheck that the stream URL and key were copied into the correct fields and correspond to the active Live Control Room stream. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update the encoder.
- The feed buffers or drops frames: Compare the encoder’s total outgoing bitrate with actual upload capacity, leave the recommended 20% bandwidth headroom, and account for traffic on shared networks. Lower output demands if the connection cannot sustain the chosen settings.
- The stream appears live but has no sound or picture: Inspect the Live Control Room preview and encoder output before launch, then check audio routing, source playback, and video input. Verify again on the watch page and a mobile device.
- The stream ends or the playlist stops unexpectedly: Check whether the source player or encoder stopped, whether the computer or network slept or disconnected, and whether the YouTube stream was interrupted. Test unattended playback and reconnection behavior before relying on the setup.
- The full broadcast is missing from replays: This is an expected risk for broadcasts longer than 12 hours, not proof that the encoder failed. Use a separate local recording if retaining a complete copy matters.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo keeps an uploaded-video YouTube stream running from the cloud: upload the cartoon recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. This does not replace the need to clear cartoon and audio rights, and StreamNeo streams to YouTube only. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
