How to Stream Multiple Prerecorded Videos Continuously on YouTube

To stream multiple prerecorded videos continuously on YouTube, send a rotating playlist to YouTube Live through an encoder: either run compatible streaming software on a computer you keep online, or use a cloud service designed for continuous prerecorded streams. First enable live streaming on your channel, create a stream in YouTube Studio, connect the encoder with the stream URL and private stream key, then test and monitor the feed.

Before you start: check channel eligibility

Your YouTube channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions during the previous 90 days. If this is your first time enabling live streaming, YouTube says activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.

Choose how the videos will loop

Local encoder on a computer

A local software or hardware encoder sends your video to YouTube. For multiple prerecorded files, the encoder must also support continuous playback or playlist rotation; not every encoder does. Confirm that capability before setting up a broadcast. Your computer, encoder, and internet connection need to remain available for the stream to continue, and someone should be able to respond to interruptions.

Cloud service

A cloud service can play uploaded videos without requiring a dedicated computer or camera to stay on at home. YouTube’s verified encoder list includes Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming. YouTube notes that listed products are not made by YouTube; treat the list as a starting point and check that a service supports the playlist behavior and operating needs you want.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Create a YouTube Live stream and connect your encoder

  1. Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create a stream or select an existing setup. Decide whether the broadcast should be public, unlisted, or private; these are YouTube’s available visibility choices.
  2. Copy the stream URL and stream key. Enter them in the encoder’s corresponding server and key fields. YouTube describes the stream key as functioning like a password and address. Keep it private, and reset it if you think someone else has accessed it.
  3. Set the encoder output. YouTube recommends RTMPS. Choose a resolution, frame rate, and bitrate your encoder can produce reliably and your upload connection can sustain. Use YouTube’s current encoder settings, bitrate, and resolution table for recommendations that match your codec, output resolution, and frame rate; there is no single bitrate that suits every stream.
  4. Load and test the playlist. Arrange the prerecorded files in the order you want them to play and verify that the encoder or service can advance from one file to the next and repeat the sequence. In Live Control Room, preview the incoming feed and check that both moving video and audio are present before making the stream public.
  5. Start the broadcast and monitor it. Watch the Live Control Room stream-health messages and check audio and video quality while the stream runs. YouTube’s live-streaming tips advise creators to “Continuously monitor streams for audio and video quality.” A long-running playlist is not a substitute for checking whether the feed is still healthy.

Settings that affect a continuous broadcast

Visibility and stream controls

YouTube Live stream settings include public, private, and unlisted visibility, as well as DVR, auto-start, and auto-stop controls. Choose settings deliberately in Live Control Room; these controls affect how viewers access and control the broadcast, but do not guarantee uninterrupted playback. Review YouTube’s live stream settings before going live.

Quality and connection

Match output resolution and frame rate to the source files and encoder, then select the corresponding bitrate guidance from YouTube. A setting that exceeds the encoder’s capacity or the available upload bandwidth can undermine a stable feed. Preview the actual incoming stream rather than assuming that a successful encoder configuration means the video and audio are correct.

Copyright and reused material

Only stream videos and audio you have the rights to use, including music, footage, and any material incorporated into a documentary. Continuous playback does not change your responsibility for the content or make permission unnecessary. Review YouTube’s applicable copyright and monetization policies for your channel and content before broadcasting; the encoder setup guidance does not determine whether a particular video is authorized or eligible for monetization.

Plan around archives and interruptions

YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume that a single indefinitely running stream will be archived in full. If you need a replay, plan its duration with that limit in mind and confirm YouTube’s current archive behavior before relying on it.

For a local setup, the computer and connection are part of the broadcast chain, so a shutdown or loss of connectivity can interrupt the feed. For any setup, continue checking stream health and audio/video. YouTube’s guidance recommends testing the feed and monitoring it rather than treating auto-start, auto-stop, or a playlist as a guarantee of unattended operation.

Troubleshooting common problems

  • The channel cannot go live: confirm the channel is verified and has no live-streaming restriction during the previous 90 days. If live streaming was just enabled for the first time, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
  • YouTube does not receive the feed: check that the encoder has the correct stream URL and stream key, and that the key belongs to the selected stream. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update the encoder.
  • The feed will not connect reliably: verify the encoder is using the recommended RTMPS connection and that its output settings and bitrate fit the available upload connection. Compare the selected output against YouTube’s current encoder settings table.
  • The video arrives without sound or motion: preview the feed in Live Control Room before publishing. Check the encoder’s selected audio/video inputs and verify that the current playlist item is playing.
  • The playlist stops after one video: check that the chosen encoder or service explicitly supports cycling through multiple prerecorded files and continuous playback. YouTube’s general encoder support does not mean every encoder offers playlist rotation.
  • The stream is unhealthy after it starts: review the Live Control Room health messages and inspect audio and video continuously. Correct the source, encoder, or connection issue indicated by the feed rather than assuming the broadcast will recover on its own.
