Nicole Richie
Nicole is Lionel Richie’s adopted daughter, not Diane Alexander’s biological child. Biography.com identifies her birth parents as Karen Moss and Peter Michael Escovedo. Lionel and Brenda Harvey took guardianship of Nicole when she was young and adopted her when she was nine. In a 2022 interview recounted by ABC News, Lionel said: “She was a little girl who needed a shot.”

Nicole’s public career includes television, notably The Simple Life, and fashion. ABC News describes her as the founder and creative director of House of Harlow 1960. Biography.com reports the label’s range has included jewelry and clothing, later expanding into eyewear, accessories and loungewear.
Miles Richie
Miles is Lionel and Diane Alexander’s son. Born in 1994, he has worked as a model. ABC News reported that he signed with Wilhelmina Models in 2018 and made his runway debut that year. Those are dated career milestones; they do not establish his current agency representation.

Sofia Richie Grainge
Sofia, born in 1998, is Lionel and Diane Alexander’s daughter. Public profiles describe her modeling and fashion work, but those descriptions should not be read as a current job listing. ABC News reports that she married music executive Elliot Grainge in 2023 and that they welcomed their daughter, Eloise, in May 2024.
