Disney Plus Error 1026, shown as AUTH_SERVICE_INT_FAILURE, usually means the app could not initialize correctly or connect reliably to Disney’s services. Disney lists app problems, connection failures, unstable internet, and unsupported devices or access methods as possible causes—not necessarily a wrong password.
Start with the low-risk fixes: close Disney+, restart the TV, test your connection, update the app and TV software, then clear local data or reinstall the app if needed. The sequence below helps identify whether the problem is the TV, your network, the account session, compatibility, or Disney’s service.
What Disney Plus Error 1026 means
The visible label is AUTH_SERVICE_INT_FAILURE. “Auth” refers to authentication or session initialization, but it does not prove that your password, billing, or subscription is incorrect. Disney describes Error 1026 primarily as an app or connection problem and also notes that unsupported devices or access methods can cause it.
Possible causes include:
- A temporary Disney+ app failure.
- A failed or unstable connection to Disney+ services.
- Corrupted or stale local app data.
- An outdated Disney+ app or TV operating system.
- An unsupported television, browser, emulator, or other access method.
- A session problem that requires signing out and back in.
See Disney’s Error 1026 guidance for the official cause categories.

Try these fixes in order
1. Fully close and reopen Disney+
Exit Disney+ rather than repeatedly selecting the button on the error screen. Reopen it after the app has completely closed. Disney’s general app troubleshooting guidance starts with closing the app or website.
2. Restart the smart TV
- Exit Disney+ if the TV allows it.
- Turn the TV off.
- Wait briefly, then turn it back on.
- Launch Disney+ again.
This is Disney’s first device-specific recommendation for Error 1026. A standby press may not fully restart every television; if the error remains, use the manufacturer’s normal complete power-cycle procedure. Do not rely on a universal button combination.
3. Isolate the internet connection
- Open another streaming app on the same TV.
- Try Disney+ on a phone or computer connected to the same Wi-Fi.
- If possible, connect the TV temporarily to a phone hotspot or another network.
A hotspot is useful for diagnosis, but cellular data may be limited or unstable and is not necessarily a permanent streaming solution.
4. Power-cycle the modem and router
If other services are also failing, or your provider recently had an outage, turn off or unplug the modem and router according to their manufacturer instructions. Wait for them to restart fully, reconnect the TV, and test Disney+ again. Disney specifically recommends this after a possible internet-service interruption.
Recommended Free Tools
Temporarily disconnect a VPN, custom DNS service, parental-control filter, enterprise network, or ad-blocking gateway if you use one. These are variables to test, not confirmed causes of Error 1026.

5. Update Disney+ and the TV
- Open the TV’s app store and check for a Disney+ update.
- Open the TV’s system-software or firmware settings and install pending updates.
- Restart the TV after updating.
If the TV says Disney+ is no longer compatible or will not offer an update, treat compatibility as a likely issue instead of repeatedly reinstalling the same app.
6. Clear Disney+ cache or app data
Temporary files can become corrupted. Clear cache normally removes temporary files while retaining the installation. Clear data or storage removes locally stored app information and usually requires you to sign in again. Menu names vary by model and software version.
Disney’s cache and data instructions cover browsers, Android TV, Fire TV, Apple TV, Hisense, LG, Samsung Tizen, consoles, Chromecast, and other devices. Not every platform provides a separate cache button; reinstalling is the practical alternative where it does not.
7. Sign out and sign back in
Use this step when the app opens far enough to reach account settings, or when you see repeated sign-outs or a blank sign-in screen.
- Sign out of Disney+.
- Restart the TV or streaming device.
- Sign in again with the correct MyDisney email.
Do not change your password solely because the code contains “AUTH.” Investigate the password when Disney explicitly reports incorrect credentials, login failure on multiple devices, or possible account compromise.

8. Reinstall Disney+
- Delete or uninstall Disney+.
- Restart the TV.
- Open the official app store.
- Install Disney+ again.
- Launch it and sign in.
Reinstalling replaces the local app installation and does not cancel your subscription. It cannot fix a Disney service outage, unsupported hardware, or a server-side account problem.
9. Test another supported access method
Try a supported computer browser, phone or tablet, game console, or another supported TV or streaming device. If Disney+ works elsewhere, the original TV, its built-in app, or its compatibility is the more likely focus. If it fails on different devices and networks, contact Disney+ support.
Clear Disney+ cache by device
Android TV and Google TV
Typical path: Settings → Apps → Disney+ → Force stop, then Clear cache. If necessary, use Clear storage or Clear data, update Disney+ through Google Play, and reinstall if the controls do not help. Labels differ by manufacturer and Android/Google TV version.
Amazon Fire TV
Use the Disney+ entry under the Fire TV application settings to clear cache or data, then update or reinstall Disney+ from the Amazon app store. Exact labels vary by Fire TV generation.
Samsung smart TV
Check the TV’s app-management, Device Care, or storage area for Disney+ cache, update, and delete options. Samsung menu names differ across Tizen generations, so follow the labels on your model rather than a path written for another year.

Do not expect a conventional Disney+ cache-clear control. Disney’s cache guidance points Apple TV users toward uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
Browsers
Close the Disney+ tab, clear Disney+ site data, cache, and cookies, then try an updated supported browser. Temporarily disable login or playback extensions. A private window is useful as a diagnostic test, not a guaranteed fix.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Use the pattern to locate the problem
| Symptom | Most useful next move | What not to assume |
|---|---|---|
| Error appears immediately on one TV | Restart, update firmware and app, clear data, then reinstall | That the password is wrong |
| Other streaming apps also fail | Investigate Wi-Fi, router, modem, or ISP service | That Disney+ is the only problem |
| Disney+ works on mobile data but not home Wi-Fi | Check router, DNS, VPN, filtering, or ISP routing | That reinstalling the TV app will solve it |
| Browser or phone works, TV app fails | Check TV support, firmware, and app installation | That the subscription is invalid |
| Every device and network fails | Check account status and contact Disney+ support | That the TV is defective |
| TV reports the app is incompatible | Use a supported alternative device or upgrade hardware | That clearing cache can restore support |
These are practical isolation inferences, not an official Disney diagnostic tree. Disney lists the underlying app, connection, device, and access-method categories on its Error 1026 page.
When the problem is probably not your TV
If Disney+ fails on several devices connected to the same Wi-Fi, investigate the network, DNS, router, or ISP. If it fails on several devices using different networks, an account/session issue or Disney service incident becomes more plausible. If it works in a browser but not on the television, check the TV app and compatibility before changing account credentials.

Unsupported hardware, modified software, emulators, and unofficial access methods cannot be made compatible by clearing cache or reinstalling. A temporary Disney+ service problem can also make every local fix ineffective.
What to do if Error 1026 keeps returning
Before contacting Disney+, record:
- The exact message and code.
- TV make, model, and operating-system version.
- Disney+ app version, if visible.
- Whether other apps work on the TV.
- Whether Disney+ works on another device.
- Whether a different network changes the result.
- Which steps above you completed and what happened.
Then contact Disney+ through its Help Center. Disney’s current troubleshooting information describes support availability as 24 hours a day, seven days a week on the applicable US help pages. Support can investigate account, device, and service conditions, but no particular remote fix is guaranteed.
A factory reset of the television should be a last resort for a broader manufacturer problem. It erases TV settings and is not part of Disney’s normal Error 1026 sequence.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will reinstalling Disney+ cancel my subscription?
No. Reinstalling removes the local app installation; it does not cancel the Disney+ subscription. You will normally need to sign in again.
Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallCrashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteCan clearing cache delete my Disney+ account?
Clearing cache removes temporary files. Clearing app data or storage may sign you out, but it does not delete the Disney+ account itself.
Does Error 1026 mean Disney+ is down?
Not by itself. Disney lists local app, connection, compatibility, and access-method causes as well as possible service-side failures.
Should I factory-reset my smart TV?
No—not as a normal first-line fix. Try restarting, networking checks, updates, cache or data clearing, and reinstalling first; factory reset erases broader TV settings.
