The BBC’s original catch-up window was temporary, so the complete video catalogue should not be expected on BBC iPlayer now. During the festival, UK viewers had the broadest access through BBC services; international viewers were specifically offered global BBC.com streams of Dua Lipa and Coldplay. Remaining legitimate options are retained BBC or Glastonbury clips, artist channels, licensed local highlights and BBC Sounds audio.
The fastest answer
| Viewer situation | Best official route | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| In the UK during the 2024 festival | BBC iPlayer | Live streams and catch-up programmes, subject to a UK TV Licence, territory rules and programme rights. |
| Outside the UK during the festival | BBC.com | Global livestreams were announced for Dua Lipa on 28 June and Coldplay on 29 June only—not the complete iPlayer catalogue. |
| Looking for audio | BBC Sounds or BBC radio | Live sets, interviews and festival programmes; audio is not a replacement for full-set video. |
| Looking in 2026 | Official BBC, Glastonbury and artist pages | Individual clips or highlights may remain, but the original iPlayer replay window has generally expired. |
The BBC was Glastonbury’s exclusive multimedia broadcast partner and covered performances from the Pyramid, Other, West Holts, Woodsies and The Park stages. That did not mean every stage, artist or complete set was filmed and released.

How UK viewers watched
Live television and iPlayer streams
BBC television carried festival coverage, while BBC iPlayer provided live streams associated with the main stage feeds and curated programmes. The BBC announced more than 90 hours of live performances across five stages.

Catch-up and individual sets
- Open BBC iPlayer.
- Search for Glastonbury 2024 or the artist’s name.
- Select an individual performance, stage stream or curated programme such as a headliners or pop compilation.
- Play it live or through catch-up while the programme remains licensed.
BBC programme listings included individual entries such as Dua Lipa’s 1-hour-45-minute broadcast as well as curated programmes. Menus and labels could change, and some sets appeared later, were edited or were not published in full.
BBC iPlayer television programmes require a UK TV Licence under the BBC’s terms. Those terms also limit use to the UK and make programmes available only for a defined period: BBC Terms of Use (PDF).
What international viewers could watch
The BBC.com global exception
For the first time, the BBC announced global BBC.com livestreams of two headline performances: Dua Lipa on 28 June 2024 and Coldplay on 29 June 2024. The announced US times were 5:00–6:45 p.m. EDT for Dua Lipa and 4:45–6:45 p.m. EDT for Coldplay.

Why iPlayer was different abroad
BBC iPlayer’s broader television catalogue remained subject to UK territory and licensing conditions. A VPN may change the apparent network location, but it does not create the required rights or licence. BBC may block VPN addresses, and using one to access UK-only television can conflict with BBC terms. It is not an official international solution and cannot restore an expired programme.
What “on demand” meant in 2024
Contemporary coverage reported that Glastonbury catch-up programmes were generally available for about 30 days from broadcast. Individual availability could differ, so the period was not a guarantee for every set. Under BBC terms, programmes are automatically removed when their availability period ends.

As of 18 August 2026, that original replay window is no longer the default place to find Glastonbury 2024. A surviving BBC page may be a legacy listing, an active clip or a programme unavailable in your territory rather than a playable full set.
Where to look now
- Search BBC.com and BBC Music for the artist’s name plus “Glastonbury 2024.”
- Check the official Glastonbury Festival site and its verified social channels for retained highlights.
- Check the artist’s verified YouTube channel or official website.
- Search broadcasters in your country for licensed festival highlights or documentaries.
- Use BBC programme listings and BBC Sounds for audio sets and interviews.
- Confirm that a result is an authorised page before treating it as a legitimate replay.
No current page should be presented as proof that a complete performance remains available unless it actually plays in the reader’s territory on the publication date.
Video rights, audio rights and missing performances
Why a set may be absent
- The BBC did not film that performance with an authorised crew.
- Artist or management approval was not granted.
- Music rights restricted publication or later retention.
- The broadcaster edited, shortened or replaced the programme.
- A performer requested that footage not be shown.
- Technical, scheduling or regional-licensing issues affected release.
- A short clip was retained after the full programme expired.
These are possible rights and editorial explanations, not evidence that any particular missing artist falls into one category.

BBC Sounds is audio, not video
BBC radio services and BBC Sounds carried Glastonbury live sets, interviews and festival programming, including listings for artists such as Little Simz, The Streets, Orbital, Jessie Ware, Gossip and Disclosure. Radio rights are separate from television-video rights, and an available audio replay does not imply that a full video set exists. See the BBC 6 Music programme index.

“The BBC page exists, but the video will not play”
- The programme may have expired.
- The page may be region-restricted or a legacy listing without an active player.
- The BBC may have replaced or removed the programme.
- Your device, app or connected-TV version may not support that page.
Search the artist and “Glastonbury 2024” again, then check BBC Sounds, the artist’s official channel or an official highlight. If the authorised page is unavailable, repeated refreshing will not restore its rights.
“I am abroad and used to see a stream”
That may have been one of the two BBC.com global headline streams, or a temporary rights arrangement. It does not establish worldwide access to the iPlayer catalogue.

“Can I download or redistribute a set?”
Do not download, charge for or redistribute BBC programmes outside the permissions in the BBC Terms of Use. Commercial use and charging others to watch iPlayer content are prohibited by those terms.
“Can I use an unofficial full-set upload?”
Unofficial uploads can be removed, edited, region-blocked, unsafe or unauthorised. They are not reliable substitutes for an official archive, so this guide does not direct readers to them.
VPNs: an important limitation
VPN services are sometimes marketed for accessing UK streaming while travelling, but they are not an official BBC iPlayer access method. BBC terms restrict viewing iPlayer television programmes outside the UK; BBC can detect or block VPN endpoints; and a VPN cannot make an expired Glastonbury programme available. For this archive topic, buying a VPN does not guarantee a replay.
Historical VPN prices and promotions from 2024 are not current pricing evidence. If you already use a VPN for general privacy, treat any BBC playback as uncertain and subject to the service’s terms rather than as a promised workaround.
