What the Air Canada offer was
MobileSyrup reported on August 22, 2023, that Air Canada was offering two free months of Apple TV+ to eligible customers in Canada. The audience was limited to new Apple TV+ subscribers and “qualified returning” subscribers. The available terms did not define the precise cooling-off period or Apple’s test for a returning subscriber.
The promotion allowed one redemption per Apple ID and Family Group and was reported to expire on August 31, 2023. Because that deadline passed, an old article or landing page should be treated as archival rather than as a live deal. See the original coverage at MobileSyrup.

- Open Air Canada’s promotion page, if it is still accessible.
- Check the displayed country, eligibility wording, expiry date and renewal price.
- Select the white Redeem Now button.
- Sign in with the Apple Account intended to hold the subscription, or create one if prompted.
- Confirm that Apple accepts the account as eligible.
- Read and accept the subscription and automatic-renewal terms.
- Verify the resulting subscription in the Apple Account’s subscription settings.
If an old page no longer loads, displays no trial, or asks for payment without clearly showing the offer terms, do not assume the promotion is still valid.
What “free” meant
The first two months carried no subscription charge under the reported offer. After that period, the subscription was set to renew automatically at C$8.99 per month until cancelled. That was the promotional renewal price in 2023, not a current Canadian Apple TV price for 2026. Anyone who did not want a paid subscription needed to cancel before the free period ended and then check that the subscription status reflected the cancellation.

Why a redemption attempt might fail
- The August 31, 2023 deadline has passed or the promotion page has been retired.
- The Apple Account is outside Canada or does not use the required Canadian billing context.
- The account or Family Group already used the offer.
- Apple does not classify the account as a qualified returning subscriber.
- Another Apple TV promotional trial is already active.
- The user is signed in to a different Apple Account from the one that holds the subscription.
The source terms do not disclose Apple’s exact eligibility algorithm, a returning-subscriber cooldown period, or a special refund policy for this promotion.
Air Canada’s inflight Apple TV content was separate
Air Canada announced that selected Apple TV+ originals, including Ted Lasso, Bad Sisters, Severance and Foundation, were being added to its inflight entertainment system beginning August 1, 2023. These are three different things: Apple TV programming available onboard, the separate 2023 two-month subscription promotion, and any later Apple-related airline promotion. Booking a flight does not revive the expired subscription offer.
What Air Canada lists now
Air Canada’s current inflight entertainment and connectivity page lists Apple TV among onboard entertainment content and prominently describes offers for Apple Fitness+ and Audible. It does not present the old two-month Apple TV+ subscription promotion as active. The Fitness+ promotion is not a replacement or continuation of the Apple TV+ deal.

Apple TV options after the expired deal
Apple’s consumer branding now often uses Apple TV, although the 2023 promotion was described as Apple TV+. The service focuses on Apple Original series and films, with sports availability varying by region and plan. Apple’s U.S. offer page currently shows a seven-day trial followed by US$12.99 per month; that U.S. figure should not be treated as Canadian pricing. Check the Canadian signup page for the price and terms that apply to your account: Apple TV Canada.
People already paying for Apple Music, iCloud+, Arcade or Fitness+ can also compare Apple’s Canadian Apple One bundles. A bundle only makes sense if the included services match what you use; it is not connected to the expired Air Canada promotion.

How to check an old offer safely
- Look for a current trial duration, Canadian eligibility language, expiry date and exact recurring price.
- Do not enter payment details solely because an old article still appears in search results.
- After any legitimate trial activation, inspect the Apple Account’s active subscriptions.
- Set a reminder before the free period ends if you do not intend to continue.
- Treat pages still advertising the Air Canada deal as outdated unless Air Canada or Apple publishes a new, dated announcement.
The Bottom Line
The Air Canada offer was real, Canada-only and useful for eligible subscribers in 2023, but it ended August 31, 2023. As of August 18, 2026, readers cannot claim those two free months; use Apple’s current Canadian plans instead and do not confuse onboard Air Canada content with a subscription.
