In an April 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Snyder outlined the direction he imagined for a third film. As reported by Forbes, he said: “The story of movie three would be tracking [Princess Issa] down” and exploring how the rebels could turn their victory at Veldt into a coalition of worlds already close to rebellion.
Snyder described the destruction of the Imperium’s dreadnought as “a chink in the armor.” In story terms, the battle would be more than a local victory: it could show other planets that the Imperium can be challenged and give them a reason to join the uprising.

Is Rebel Moon 3 officially happening?
There is no confirmed Netflix greenlight or release date in the latest reported update. On September 28, 2026, What’s on Netflix reported Snyder’s comments at TIFF. Asked whether Part Three would happen soon, he said he did not know and expressed hope that greater interest in the director’s cuts could create enough momentum for another installment.
That answer keeps the project uncertain. It indicates that Snyder remains open to returning, but it does not establish that Netflix has commissioned the movie, set a production schedule, or approved a release window.
