The combined names in the IOC’s advance announcement and CONI’s post-event recap were Mariah Carey, Andrea Bocelli, Laura Pausini, Lang Lang, Giovanni Zanon, Ghali, Cecilia Bartoli, Sabrina Impacciatore, Pierfrancesco Favino, Matilda De Angelis and Charlize Theron.
That is a source-qualified list of named performers and participants—not a claim that every dancer, choir member, ensemble musician or volunteer in the production was identified publicly.
Who was named before the ceremony?
The International Olympic Committee’s 23 January 2026 announcement named these people in the planned ceremony cast:
| Name | How the IOC announcement identified the person |
|---|---|
| Mariah Carey | Leading artist |
| Andrea Bocelli | Leading artist |
| Laura Pausini | Leading artist |
| Lang Lang | Chinese pianist in the ceremony cast |
| Giovanni Zanon | Named member of the ceremony cast |
| Sabrina Impacciatore | Named member of the ceremony cast |
| Pierfrancesco Favino | Named member of the ceremony cast |
| Matilda De Angelis | Named member of the ceremony cast |
The announcement did not describe every person in that list as a singer. It included musicians, actors and other cast participants.

CONI’s 6 February recap added names and roles reported after the ceremony. It mentioned Italian rapper Ghali, mezzosoprano Cecilia Bartoli, actors Matilda De Angelis, Pierfrancesco Favino and Sabrina Impacciatore, and international stars Mariah Carey and Charlize Theron. The recap described Andrea Bocelli separately in connection with the torch sequence.
| Name | Role or description in the CONI recap |
|---|---|
| Ghali | Italian rapper |
| Cecilia Bartoli | Mezzosoprano |
| Matilda De Angelis | Actor |
| Pierfrancesco Favino | Actor |
| Sabrina Impacciatore | Actor |
| Mariah Carey | International star |
| Charlize Theron | International star |
| Andrea Bocelli | Associated with the torch sequence |
The combined named list
Reading the two official source records together produces this 11-name roster:
Rank #2
- Mariah Carey
- Andrea Bocelli
- Laura Pausini
- Lang Lang
- Giovanni Zanon
- Ghali
- Cecilia Bartoli
- Sabrina Impacciatore
- Pierfrancesco Favino
- Matilda De Angelis
- Charlize Theron
The IOC announcement is the evidence for who was publicized in advance; CONI’s recap is the evidence for people it said were involved after the event. Because no separate exhaustive production roll was established, this combined list should not be read as a complete census of every participant.
Which performances were confirmed after the event?
BBC’s post-event report specifically confirmed two musical moments: Andrea Bocelli performed “Nessun Dorma” as the torch entered San Siro, and Mariah Carey performed “Volare.” Those reports identify confirmed examples, not a complete set list.

How to interpret the “full list”
- The 11 names above are all the performers and participants named in the cited IOC announcement and CONI recap.
- Some names are actors or other ceremony participants, not musical performers.
- The available official materials do not identify every dancer, ensemble member, choir member or other production contributor.
- The confirmed song details available from post-event reporting are Bocelli’s “Nessun Dorma” and Carey’s “Volare”; no complete set list is established here.
