The free, 24/7 Pokémon anime channel is real, but the available official announcements do not say it is launching on YouTube. It is a free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel distributed through services including Pluto TV, Samsung TV Plus and Prime Video, with further U.S. launches reported on The Roku Channel, LG Channels and VIZIO WatchFree+. YouTube has official Pokémon videos and selected animation, but that is not the same as a confirmed continuous live channel.
What was actually announced?
In August 2024, The Pokémon Company International selected WildBrain to distribute a dedicated Pokémon FAST channel. The announcement described a 24/7 channel beginning in the United States, with plans to expand to Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. It named FAST distribution; it did not identify YouTube as the channel’s home. WildBrain’s announcement also described its role in advertising sales.

The YouTube association may be easy to make: WildBrain operates both a YouTube content network and a separate FAST business. But those are distinct distribution models. A Pokémon upload, playlist or YouTube livestream does not establish that the scheduled FAST feed is on YouTube.

The launch dates and season counts above come from the respective Pluto TV, Samsung TV Plus, Prime Video and 2026 expansion announcements. They are not a promise that every service has the same catalog today. Search for the live channel specifically: a service may also show separate on-demand titles, and those are not necessarily part of the continuous feed.

What “free 24/7” means
FAST stands for free ad-supported streaming television. It works more like a television station than a box set: tune in and watch whichever episode is airing at that time. It is generally free to watch without a traditional pay-TV subscription, but it includes advertising. You will also need an internet connection and a compatible app or device; a platform may require a free account, and availability can vary by territory and hardware.
Because the channel is linear, you may not be able to choose a particular episode or start one from the beginning. If you want a specific season, movie, language track or episode, check an on-demand service or digital storefront instead. The Pokémon Company International’s official watch guide lists options for episodes and movies, but availability can change by title and region.

What Pokémon is on the channel?
The channel’s announced focus is the original animated series featuring Ash Ketchum and Pikachu: in other words, a curated selection of older Ash-era episodes. It should not be treated as an all-Pokémon catalog. The announcements cite different season totals—22 for some platform launches and 25 for Prime Video—so the number is platform- and announcement-specific, not a universal guarantee.

The latter has separate distribution listings; Pokémon’s news archive, for example, has listed Horizons episodes for digital purchase through Amazon, Apple TV and YouTube Movies & TV. Check the current listing for the exact show and country you want.

What YouTube does offer
YouTube is a place to find official Pokémon content, including trailers, clips, shorts, broadcasts and selected animation. Pokémon’s online content guidelines list YouTube for Pokémon Presents and Play! Pokémon broadcasts, while noting that the animated series is governed by separate distribution rights. That distinction matters: official Pokémon videos on YouTube do not mean the anime’s FAST channel is streaming there around the clock.
Pokémon’s news listings have also pointed viewers to selected animation on YouTube or YouTube Movies & TV. Those are individual releases or on-demand options, not proof of a continuous 24/7 channel. Unless an official announcement or clearly labeled live channel confirms a continuous feed, a playlist of episodes should not be described as one.

The standalone Pokémon TV service ended on March 28, 2024, according to Pokémon Support. The new FAST channel gives fans another free way to watch some Pokémon animation, but it is not necessarily a one-for-one replacement.

Pokémon TV offered a changing on-demand selection of episodes, specials and other content. The FAST channel is a scheduled stream, and its catalog may be narrower and vary by platform. If the old app let you choose what to watch, the new channel may feel different: you tune in to what is on, rather than browse a complete replacement library.

Choose by how you want to watch
- For a lean-back, live-TV experience: Try a FAST service that carries the channel. If you already have a compatible smart TV, its built-in live-channel service may be the simplest starting point; otherwise, check Pluto TV or another listed service.
- For a particular episode or movie: Search the current official watch guide and the service’s on-demand catalog. A linear channel may not let you pick the episode.
- For Pokémon Horizons or newer animation: Verify that exact title separately. The Ash-era channel description is not evidence that Horizons is included.
- For ad-free viewing: A free FAST channel is not the right assumption; it is ad-supported. Check the terms of any rental, purchase or subscription option title by title.
- For a phone, computer or child’s account: Confirm that the service exposes its live channel on your device, and review account requirements, parental controls, autoplay and advertising settings.
For viewers in the United States, the practical correction is simple: the 24/7 channel has been announced across FAST services, not as a new YouTube linear channel. YouTube remains useful for official Pokémon videos and selected on-demand content; for the continuous classic-anime stream, search a FAST service’s live guide for “Pokémon.” Outside the U.S., check the local service listings because rights, devices and available seasons can differ.
