Which movie was best for film-music fans?
Music by John Williams was the clearest choice for film-music fans. The documentary profiles the composer behind scores associated with Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Jurassic Park. Disney’s official description focuses on Williams’s own story, filmmaker perspectives, and rare behind-the-scenes material, while the original seven-pick article highlighted appearances and participation from major filmmaking figures including Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.
The film suits viewers more interested in how blockbuster cinema is made than in a conventional concert or biographical feature. It connects composition, collaboration, and Hollywood history through the career of a single influential composer. The official listing is included in Disney’s November 2024 schedule.
Why was Endurance a strong adventure pick?
Endurance followed the search for Ernest Shackleton’s lost Antarctic ship. The vessel disappeared after Shackleton’s 1915 expedition, and the documentary presents a modern maritime-heritage recovery mission carried out by a crew working in severe Antarctic conditions.
The strongest audience fit is viewers who enjoy exploration documentaries, survival stories, shipwreck mysteries, and real-world expeditions. Unlike a historical drama that recreates Shackleton’s journey, Endurance centers on the effort to locate and recover evidence connected with the lost ship. The title was one of the selections in the original seven-movie roundup and was listed for November 2, 2024.
What happens in An Almost Christmas Story?
An Almost Christmas Story follows Moon, a curious young owl separated from home after being caught in a Christmas tree bound for Rockefeller Plaza. Moon meets Luna, a lost little girl, and the two try to find their way back to their families.

The short-form holiday story is the most obviously family-oriented selection in the list. Disney’s official synopsis supports its family-friendly positioning, while the source article emphasized its stop-motion presentation and connection to filmmaker David Lowery. The combination of a small-scale animal adventure, Christmas setting, and child-centered emotional story makes it a natural choice for holiday viewing with younger audiences. Disney listed the title for November 15, 2024, in its official November schedule.
Why did Out of My Mind stand out?
Out of My Mind stood out for its inclusive middle-grade drama and focus on communication, intelligence, and belonging. The film centers on Melody Brooks, a sixth grader with cerebral palsy who is non-verbal and uses a wheelchair. Melody struggles to be recognized for her intelligence and gains an opportunity to participate in mainstream education after an educator notices her abilities.
The story should not be reduced to Melody’s diagnosis. The official synopsis foregrounds her wit, sharp mind, and right to communicate, making the film relevant to families and viewers looking for disability representation as well as an accessible coming-of-age drama. Out of My Mind was listed for November 22, 2024, by Disney and included among Collider’s seven selections.
What was the Mary Poppins special about?
The Mary Poppins item was an anniversary-oriented documentary or special connected with the 60th anniversary of the 1964 classic. The selection appealed primarily to viewers interested in the original film’s production, cultural legacy, and place in Disney history rather than to viewers seeking a new narrative feature.
The release date requires a qualification. Disney+ Press listed Mary Poppins Special for November 28, 2024, while the source article listed November 29. The conflict appears in the official Disney+ Press schedule and the original editorial roundup, so “late November” is the safest retrospective description.

Why was Oz the Great and Powerful included?
Oz the Great and Powerful offered a recognizable fantasy world from the Wizard’s origin point. The film is a fantasy prequel about a traveling con artist who becomes the Wizard of Oz, giving viewers a version of the character’s story before the familiar events associated with Oz.

Its strongest appeal is visual fantasy, franchise mythology, and a familiar story world approached through a different central character. Disney’s schedule placed the film on Disney+ in the United States on November 29, 2024, as recorded in the official Disney News roundup.
What does Beatles ’64 cover?
Beatles ’64 examines the Beatles during their first major U.S. visit and explosive cultural breakthrough. The documentary uses rare behind-the-scenes footage filmed by David and Albert Maysles and restored in 4K, alongside newly filmed and archival interviews.
The film is the strongest selection for music-history audiences and longtime Beatles fans. Its focus is not simply the band’s later legacy; it captures a defining moment when the Beatles arrived in the United States and became a major cultural phenomenon. The source article also connected the documentary with Martin Scorsese and Disney+’s broader tradition of Beatles documentaries. Disney listed Beatles ’64 for November 29, 2024, in its official schedule.

Readers who want additional historical context could pair the documentary with a Beatles 1964 history book, but no specific companion edition was verified. A book recommendation should therefore be treated as optional background reading rather than an official tie-in.

Did Deadpool & Wolverine also arrive on Disney+ in November 2024?
Yes, Disney’s official November roundup also listed Deadpool & Wolverine for November 12, 2024, but the film was not one of the seven selections in the source article. Adding it to the main list would change the original editorial premise, so it belongs only in a separate “also arrived” note.
The distinction matters because “best” in the headline was the source article’s editorial judgment, not an objective ranking, audience survey, independent test, or claim that these were the only notable movies added to Disney+ that month. The official date appears in Disney News’ November 2024 roundup.
Can you still watch these movies on Disney+?
Current access cannot be assumed from the November 2024 schedule. Disney+ catalog availability can change over time and may differ by region, and the research for this retrospective does not verify which of the seven titles remain available in the current catalog.
If you are checking the historical lineup now, search each title directly in the Disney+ service available in your country. A watch on Disney+ decision should be based on that current catalog check rather than on the original November 2024 arrival dates.

Frequently Asked Questions
What were the seven movies coming to Disney+ in November 2024?
The seven titles were Music by John Williams, Endurance, An Almost Christmas Story, Out of My Mind, the Mary Poppins anniversary special, Oz the Great and Powerful, and Beatles ’64. The list was an editorial selection, not a complete list of every movie added to Disney+ in November 2024.
When did the Mary Poppins special come to Disney+?
The Mary Poppins special had a date discrepancy: Disney+ Press listed November 28, 2024, while the source article listed November 29, 2024. Describing the special as a late-November arrival avoids silently choosing between the two published dates.
Was Deadpool & Wolverine one of the seven best Disney+ movies in November 2024?
No. Disney’s official November 2024 roundup listed Deadpool & Wolverine for November 12, 2024, but the film was not one of the seven titles selected by the source article.
Are these November 2024 Disney+ movies still available?
The November 2024 arrival dates do not confirm present-day access. Disney+ availability can change over time and varies by region, so viewers should search the current Disney+ catalog in their country.

The seven selections stood out because they covered very different kinds of viewing: Music by John Williams and Beatles ’64 for music history, Endurance for real-world adventure, An Almost Christmas Story for family holiday viewing, Out of My Mind for inclusive drama, the Mary Poppins special for Disney nostalgia, and Oz the Great and Powerful for fantasy. The list is historical, so current Disney+ availability requires a region-specific catalog check.
