Peacock did not remove WWE because the shows were canceled. WWE’s U.S. streaming rights were split: Netflix became the main home for Raw and the WWE library, ESPN took current Premium Live Events, and Peacock retained selected WWE programming. The result is a fragmented map rather than one replacement service.
Peacock did not remove WWE because the programming was canceled or technically purged. The U.S. rights arrangement changed: Netflix became the main home for the WWE library and Raw, ESPN took the current Premium Live Events, and Peacock retained selected WWE programming.
For most U.S. viewers replacing the old Peacock-centered setup, the practical answer is:
- Netflix: current Raw and the relocated WWE library, including the announced archive of pre-September 2025 Premium Live Events, documentaries, and original programming.
- ESPN Unlimited: current WWE Premium Live Events such as WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank, Survivor Series, and Elimination Chamber.
- Peacock: Saturday Night’s Main Event, the SmackDown library, and selected remaining WWE programming.
This is a U.S.-specific guide. WWE streaming rights differ by country, and availability can change title by title.

Why did Peacock remove WWE content?
Peacock’s original WWE arrangement was replaced by a split-rights strategy. In March 2021, Peacock became the exclusive U.S. streaming home of the WWE Network library, including archival material, WWE originals, documentaries, and live Premium Live Events.
That package did not remain intact indefinitely. WWE later licensed different categories of content to different distributors:
- Netflix took Raw in the United States on January 6, 2025. Netflix also began making selected older Raw material available.
- Netflix became the U.S. home of the WWE library on January 6, 2026. The announced transfer included Premium Live Events held before September 2025, including WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Royal Rumble, along with documentaries, WWE original programming, and past Raw episodes.
- ESPN took the U.S. rights to current WWE Premium Live Events. The events moved into ESPN’s subscription structure rather than remaining part of Peacock’s former WWE package.
- Peacock retained selected WWE programming. It was not left without WWE material, but it no longer functioned as the complete U.S. replacement for the old WWE Network.
So “Peacock removed WWE” is understandable shorthand, but it is not the most precise explanation. The content was redistributed when the underlying rights were reallocated. Some programs moved to Netflix, current major events moved to ESPN, and other programs remained on Peacock.
Where can you stream WWE in the U.S. now?
| What you want to watch | Where to look | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Current Monday Night Raw | Netflix | Netflix became the exclusive U.S. home of Raw on January 6, 2025. Episodes are also available afterward. |
| Older WWE Premium Live Events held before September 2025 | Netflix | The announced library transfer includes events such as WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Royal Rumble, but it does not promise that every former WWE Network item is available at once. |
| Current WWE Premium Live Events | ESPN Unlimited | ESPN identifies ESPN Unlimited as the required tier for WWE Premium Live Events. ESPN Select or ordinary ESPN+ access should not be assumed to include them. |
| Saturday Night’s Main Event | Peacock | Peacock lists the Saturday specials as part of its current WWE offering. |
| SmackDown library and on-demand viewing | Peacock | Peacock lists the SmackDown library, while weekly television distribution is governed separately. |
| Documentaries and WWE originals | Netflix or Peacock | Availability depends on the individual title. Neither service should be treated as a guaranteed complete catalog. |
Netflix: Raw and the relocated WWE library
Netflix is now the principal U.S. destination for WWE’s library. Its WWE offering includes current Raw and the archive material identified in WWE’s 2026 library announcement.

There is an important limitation: “the WWE library” does not necessarily mean every tape that was once available through the WWE Network or Peacock. The official announcement identifies the categories and portions of the catalog being transferred; it does not guarantee that every historical WWE, WCW, ECW, or other acquired recording is present simultaneously.

Netflix’s general Raw arrangement also should not be expanded into a claim that Netflix carries every current WWE show. The U.S. guide for that arrangement does not include SmackDown, NXT, or current WWE Premium Live Events. The later library agreement adds specified archive material, but it does not turn Netflix into a universal home for every WWE program.
If your priority is weekly Raw, older WrestleManias, WWE documentaries, or selected original programming, Netflix is the service to check first. Search for the individual event or documentary if a particular title matters.
ESPN Unlimited: current WWE Premium Live Events
Current WWE Premium Live Events are a separate rights category. ESPN identifies ESPN Unlimited as the U.S. home for events including:
- Royal Rumble
- Elimination Chamber
- WrestleMania
- SummerSlam
- Money in the Bank
- Survivor Series
The events are available live and with on-demand replays through the ESPN service, subject to the applicable subscription and distribution terms. ESPN’s documentation says WWE Premium Live Events require ESPN Unlimited, not the lower ESPN Select tier. That distinction is easy to miss if you already have another ESPN product.
ESPN Unlimited can be obtained as a standalone subscription or through certain eligible bundles and participating television providers. ESPN’s current WWE information lists routes that include Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN bundles, Hulu + Live TV, and selected pay-TV providers. Packaging and eligibility are changeable, so check the current ESPN plan details before subscribing.
At the time covered by the supplied ESPN information, ESPN lists ESPN Unlimited starting at $29.99 per month and a Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN bundle starting at $35.99 per month. These are starting prices, not permanent guarantees: promotions, taxes, plan structures, and provider terms can change.

For the current event calendar, the relevant choice is ESPN Unlimited for WWE, not a Peacock subscription and not an assumption that an existing lower ESPN tier includes the events.
Peacock: what WWE content remains?
Peacock still has meaningful WWE programming. Saying that WWE left Peacock entirely is inaccurate.
Peacock’s current WWE page lists:
- Every Saturday Night’s Main Event on Peacock
- The SmackDown library
- Selected WWE documentaries and original programming
- NXT events listed through March 2026
WWE’s own viewing information also directs U.S. viewers to Peacock for on-demand SmackDown and Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The NXT wording requires particular caution. Peacock’s page refers to NXT events “through March 2026.” That legacy wording should not be read as proof that Peacock carries current NXT Premium Live Events in August 2026. Check the individual event listing before relying on Peacock for a current NXT show.

Peacock is therefore still a sensible destination if you want Saturday Night’s Main Event, the SmackDown archive, or a specific remaining documentary or original. It is not, however, a one-for-one replacement for the old all-in-one WWE Network catalog.
What happened to WWE documentaries?
Documentaries were part of the material associated with Peacock’s former WWE Network package, but the current distribution is divided. WWE’s Netflix library announcement includes documentaries and original programming, while Peacock continues to list selected documentaries and originals.

The safest way to find a documentary is to search both services by title rather than assuming that the entire documentary catalog moved together. A title’s availability may also differ from the availability of the wrestling event or performer it covers.
This matters especially for fans using WWE as a documentary archive. A subscription that provides current events may not provide the historical interviews, specials, or behind-the-scenes programs that originally made the WWE Network package feel comprehensive.

There is no official basis for promising a single U.S. service with every historical WWE-related recording. Netflix’s announcement describes a substantial WWE library transfer, but does not say that every former WWE Network item, WCW program, ECW recording, or acquired tape is available in full.
The practical approach is title-by-title:
- For an older Premium Live Event: start with Netflix, particularly if it took place before September 2025.
- For Raw: check Netflix for current and past episodes covered by its WWE arrangement.
- For SmackDown: check Peacock’s library and current on-demand listing.
- For Saturday Night’s Main Event: check Peacock.
- For a current major event: check ESPN Unlimited.
- For a documentary or original: search Netflix and Peacock separately.
Do not infer availability from a search result, an old article, or a former WWE Network listing. Streaming catalogs can change, and the rights map is now divided by program type, date, and territory.
Why WWE split the rights instead of staying with Peacock
The available official information supports a commercial rights transition rather than a technical failure. WWE assigned its U.S. library to Netflix and its U.S. Premium Live Events to ESPN, leaving Peacock with selected programming.
That arrangement gives WWE different distribution homes for different kinds of viewing:
Best Value
- Netflix provides a broad subscription-video platform for weekly Raw and archive discovery.
- ESPN handles the live-event package through its sports subscription structure.
- Peacock continues to carry selected WWE shows and library material.
The trade-off for viewers is fragmentation. A fan who previously used one Peacock subscription for live events, archives, documentaries, and original programs may now need to check multiple services—and possibly pay for more than one—to follow the same range of WWE content.
Bottom line for former Peacock WWE subscribers
Peacock did not simply delete WWE. The old package was divided after WWE’s U.S. rights shifted.
Use Netflix for Raw and the newly relocated WWE archive, ESPN Unlimited for current WWE Premium Live Events, and Peacock for Saturday Night’s Main Event, the SmackDown library, and selected remaining WWE titles. If you want a complete historical catalog, expect gaps and title-by-title availability rather than a direct replacement for the former WWE Network experience.
Frequently Asked Questions
Did WWE leave Peacock entirely?
No. WWE was not removed from Peacock completely. Peacock still lists Saturday Night’s Main Event, the SmackDown library, selected documentaries and originals, and NXT events listed through March 2026. Its former all-in-one WWE Network package, however, was replaced by a split-rights arrangement.

Where did the old WWE Network library go?
Netflix is the main U.S. destination for the WWE library, including the announced archive of Premium Live Events held before September 2025, documentaries, original programming, and past Raw episodes. It does not guarantee that every former WWE Network, WCW, ECW, or acquired title is available.
Do I need ESPN Unlimited to watch WWE Premium Live Events?
Current WWE Premium Live Events require ESPN Unlimited in the United States. ESPN says the package is not included with the lower ESPN Select tier, although eligible bundles and participating television providers may provide ESPN Unlimited access.
Where can I watch SmackDown now?
Netflix is the U.S. home of Raw, while Peacock remains a destination for the SmackDown library and on-demand viewing. Weekly SmackDown distribution is a separate rights matter, so check the current listing for the live broadcast in your area.
The Bottom Line
The short answer: WWE content left Peacock because its U.S. rights were reallocated, not because WWE disappeared. Netflix now covers Raw and the announced WWE library, ESPN Unlimited carries current Premium Live Events, and Peacock retains selected programming including Saturday Night’s Main Event and the SmackDown library.
