The 2024 NFL Draft is over. It took place in Detroit from April 25 through April 27, 2024, so there is no legitimate live stream to watch in 2026. If you are researching how viewers watched it at the time, the best no-cable option was local ABC received with an indoor digital antenna, provided ABC was available at your address. Other legal choices included authenticated ESPN or ABC access, NFL+, the free NFL Channel for supplementary coverage, and paid live-TV streaming bundles.
When the 2024 NFL Draft aired
The draft was broadcast over three days:
| Date | Rounds | Start time | Networks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Thursday, April 25, 2024 | Round 1 | 8 p.m. ET | ABC, ESPN, NFL Network, ESPN Deportes |
| Friday, April 26, 2024 | Rounds 2–3 | 7 p.m. ET | ABC, ESPN, NFL Network, ESPN Deportes |
| Saturday, April 27, 2024 | Rounds 4–7 | Noon ET | ABC, ESPN, NFL Network, ESPN Deportes |
The NFL’s official 2024 coverage information listed ABC, ESPN, NFL Network, ESPN Deportes, and NFL+ among the available ways to follow the event. Because this was a past broadcast, current channel lineups, subscriptions, and free-trial offers cannot be treated as evidence of what was available in April 2024.
The best free no-cable option: local ABC with an antenna
For viewers in the United States who could receive a local ABC affiliate, an indoor digital antenna was the clearest legal way to watch the main broadcast without cable or a monthly streaming subscription. This is free over-the-air television rather than an internet stream, but it directly addressed the goal of watching ABC without cable.
The Federal Trade Commission says that televisions made since 2007 generally include a digital tuner capable of receiving free over-the-air broadcasts, including local HD channels, when paired with a suitable antenna. Reception is not guaranteed: it depends on your distance from the ABC transmitter, local station coverage, terrain, nearby buildings, building materials, and antenna placement.

For viewers who needed the equipment, an indoor digital TV antenna was the relevant purchase. Check your local broadcast coverage before buying, and place the antenna as high and near a window as practical. Then:
- Connect the antenna to the television’s coaxial antenna input.
- Open the TV’s settings and select Channel Scan, Auto Program, or a similarly named antenna-search option.
- Choose Antenna or Air, not Cable, when prompted.
- Scan for channels and look for your local ABC affiliate.
If ABC does not appear, move the antenna and scan again. An amplifier may help in some weak-signal installations, but it cannot create coverage where no usable ABC signal exists and is not a guaranteed fix. Similarly, a replacement coaxial cable is only relevant if the included cable is missing or damaged.

Watching through ESPN or ABC digital access
ESPN’s 2024 Draft guide said viewers could follow the event through ESPN, ABC, and the ESPN App. This was not necessarily a universally free internet stream. Digital access could depend on your location, television provider, authentication, and the particular app or web presentation available at the time.

In practical terms, a viewer who already had an eligible pay-TV provider could sign in to the ESPN App or an ABC digital presentation and watch the applicable coverage. Do not assume that an ESPN+ subscription alone guaranteed the complete Draft broadcast: the available evidence does not support that blanket claim.
This route was most useful for people who had network access through an existing provider but did not want to watch through a cable box. It was not a dependable answer for someone seeking a completely free, unauthenticated online stream.
NFL+: a paid official streaming option
NFL’s 2024 coverage announcement listed NFL+ as a streaming destination for Draft coverage. NFL+ was a subscription service, not a free live stream. It could provide the NFL Network presentation and related Draft programming, but it should not be confused with a guarantee that every ABC and ESPN presentation was included.
NFL also promoted a live, exclusive Fantasy Footballers Draft Special on NFL+ after the conclusion of Round 1. That was additional programming rather than a replacement for the three-day main Draft coverage.

Because NFL+ plans and benefits can change, current subscribers should check the service’s present terms rather than relying on historical 2024 descriptions.
The free NFL Channel: useful additional coverage, not a guaranteed full feed
The NFL Channel was presented as a free, ad-supported service available through the NFL App and partner platforms including Roku, Peacock, Pluto TV, Tubi, Vizio WatchFree, Xumo Play, LG, and NFL.com/nflchannel. The league’s 2024 Draft announcement said it would provide additional live Draft coverage.
That does not mean it was a guaranteed free substitute for every selection-by-selection broadcast on ABC, ESPN, or NFL Network. The NFL’s service description distinguishes the NFL Channel from direct access to every live game and emphasizes programming such as updates, scores, highlights, and related coverage. The safest description is free supplementary Draft coverage.
If you wanted commentary, updates, highlights, or additional league programming without paying, the NFL Channel was worth checking. If you needed the complete primary broadcast presentation, ABC, ESPN, or NFL Network was the more reliable target.

Paid live-TV streaming services without cable
A live-TV streaming bundle was the fallback for households that could not receive ABC over the air and did not have authenticated ESPN or ABC access. Contemporary 2024 coverage identified services such as Fubo and other live-TV bundles as possible routes to ABC, ESPN, or NFL Network.
These services are not the same as on-demand streaming libraries. They generally require a subscription, and the relevant channel may depend on:
- your ZIP code and local affiliate availability;
- the plan tier you select;
- whether the service carried ABC in your market;
- whether NFL Network was included in that plan; and
- regional or provider authentication rules.
Before subscribing, verify the exact local channel lineup and the current price. Do not rely on an old article’s claim about a free trial, trial length, monthly cost, or channel package; those terms are volatile, and a current offer cannot establish what was available during the 2024 Draft.
For a historical viewing decision, the basic order was:
Best Value
- Brand: NFL PRO LINE
- NFL patch sewn onto bottom of front collar
- Engineered and constructed to replicate the game day Pro-Cut jersey
- Short sleeve
- Printed player name and number
- Try an antenna for ABC if you wanted the genuinely free option.
- Use existing authenticated ESPN or ABC access if your provider already included it.
- Consider NFL+ if you specifically wanted NFL Network and NFL+ programming.
- Compare a live-TV streaming service carrying the required channel if the first three options did not work.
What not to trust
- Unverified social-media streams: They may be unauthorized, disappear during the broadcast, expose viewers to malicious advertising, or collect personal information.
- Claims that ESPN+ automatically included the entire Draft: The 2024 evidence does not support that universal statement.
- Promises that the NFL Channel carried every pick: It was a free supplementary service, not a confirmed full replacement for the principal network feeds.
- Present-tense “watch tonight” pages: The 2024 Draft already aired from April 25–27, 2024.
- Old free-trial claims: A trial that existed in 2024 may not exist now, and current offers do not prove historical availability.
Quick answer by situation
| Your situation | Best historical route | Important limitation |

| You wanted a free option and received local ABC | Indoor antenna connected to a digital TV tuner | Signal and affiliate availability vary by address |
| You already had eligible TV-provider credentials | ESPN App or ABC digital access | Authentication and regional availability may apply |
| You wanted NFL Network programming | NFL+ | Paid subscription; not necessarily every ABC or ESPN feed |
| You wanted free league updates and extra coverage | NFL Channel | Not guaranteed to provide the complete main broadcast |
| You had no antenna reception or provider login | Paid live-TV streaming bundle | Confirm local ABC, ESPN, or NFL Network availability before subscribing |
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still watch the 2024 NFL Draft live?
No. The 2024 NFL Draft was held April 25–27, 2024. There is no current live broadcast of that event. Legitimate replay or highlight availability depends on the platform and rights holder; this guide covers the original viewing options.
Was there a completely free online stream of the entire 2024 NFL Draft?
The strongest free option was not an internet stream: it was local ABC received over the air with an antenna. The NFL Channel offered free supplementary coverage, while ESPN and ABC digital access could require provider authentication. Avoid assuming that any one free app carried the complete Draft feed.
Did ESPN+ include the whole 2024 NFL Draft?
Do not assume so. The available 2024 information identified ESPN, ABC, and the ESPN App, but it did not establish that an ESPN+ subscription alone universally included the complete Draft broadcast.
Could I watch the Draft with NFL+?
NFL listed NFL+ as a Draft-coverage destination, and the service could provide NFL Network programming and related content. NFL+ was paid, and its availability should not be interpreted as a promise that every ABC and ESPN presentation was included.

Bottom line: The 2024 NFL Draft is no longer live. At the time, the best legitimate free no-cable solution was local ABC through an indoor digital antenna, if your home could receive the station. Authenticated ESPN or ABC access, NFL+, the NFL Channel, and paid live-TV streaming services were the other legal routes, each with different access and coverage limits.
