Historical Twitch details
Twitch confirmed the original 7:30 p.m. Eastern / 4:30 p.m. Pacific start time, identified the official @thegameawards channel, and allowed viewers to co-stream the ceremony. Twitch also offered a historical Warframe Twitch Drop tied to watching for 30 minutes. That promotion belonged to the 2024 broadcast and should not be assumed to remain active.
What happened at the ceremony?
The Game Awards 2024 marked the show’s 10th anniversary. Its most important competitive result was ASTRO BOT’s victory in Game of the Year, but the ceremony was also designed as a large-scale showcase for upcoming games.
CD Projekt Red opened the show with The Witcher 4. Naughty Dog revealed Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophecy. The program also included a performance centered on music from Arcane: Season 2, led by Twenty One Pilots. Other musical or presentation participants identified in the show’s promotional coverage included Snoop Dogg, d4vd, Royal & the Serpent, the Game Awards Orchestra and conductor Lorne Balfe.

ASTRO BOT PS5 game is therefore the most direct physical-game shopping angle associated with this ceremony, but it should not be confused with a claim that a particular retailer currently has stock.
Players’ Voice was a different award
Black Myth: Wukong won Players’ Voice, the audience-voted award. It did not win Game of the Year. Keeping those results separate matters because the ceremony used two different forms of recognition:
- Game of the Year: ASTRO BOT, selected through the awards process.
- Players’ Voice: Black Myth: Wukong, selected through the public voting process.
The Game Awards later reported more than 112 million viewer votes across participating platforms, including Players’ Voice. That figure was an organizer-reported total, not an independently audited voting statistic.

The nominees were announced on November 18, 2024. They were selected by a global jury of more than 130 media publications and influencer outlets. ASTRO BOT and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth led the overall field with seven nominations apiece.
