How to watch the 2026 Army-Navy Game
The 2026 Army-Navy Game is scheduled for Saturday, December 12, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. CBS Sports holds the game’s rights through the 2038 season.
If you want to watch without cable, the most reliable genuinely free option currently available is an indoor HDTV antenna connected to a television that can receive your local CBS affiliate. A free internet stream for the 2026 game has not yet been officially confirmed. Paramount+ is the main paid online fallback because its Premium plan currently advertises live access to a viewer’s local CBS station.
Quick answer
| Viewing method | Cost | What is known now |
|---|---|---|
| Indoor or outdoor antenna | Free after buying the antenna | Can receive your local CBS station if your address has adequate over-the-air reception |
| CBS Sports website or app | Not yet confirmed for 2026 | Prior Army-Navy games had CBS Sports web/app viewing instructions, but the 2026 digital designation is still pending |
| Paramount+ Premium | Paid subscription | Currently advertises live access to local CBS; plan terms and local availability should be checked again near game day |
| Unofficial streams | Not recommended | They may be illegal, unstable, deceptive, or unsafe |
Option 1: Use an antenna to watch CBS for free
For most viewers, an antenna is the clearest answer to “free without cable.” CBS is a broadcast network, so the local CBS affiliate may be available over the air at no monthly cost. The Federal Communications Commission explains that viewers can use indoor or outdoor antennas for free over-the-air television, although reception depends on location, building construction, terrain, antenna placement, and station coverage.
An indoor HDTV antenna is the simplest starting point for an apartment, house, or dorm room. The antenna itself is not guaranteed to receive CBS everywhere, so check your address with a local broadcast-reception tool before buying an expensive model. If an indoor antenna cannot pick up the station, an outdoor or attic-mounted antenna may work better, subject to your building’s rules and local installation requirements.

How to set up the antenna
- Connect the antenna’s coaxial cable to the television’s antenna or RF input.
- Open the television’s settings and look for a path such as Settings > Channels, Broadcast, or Channel Setup.
- Select Air, Antenna, or Over the Air rather than Cable.
- Start an automatic channel scan. The exact label varies by television manufacturer.
- Find your local CBS affiliate in the results and test it well before December 12.
Try moving the antenna near a window, placing it higher, and keeping it away from large metal objects and thick obstructions. If a station changes frequencies, or if the television previously missed a channel, run another scan. An antenna that works in one room—or one neighborhood—may not work equally well in another.
What to do if CBS does not appear
- Run the channel scan again: Make sure the television is set to Antenna or Air, not Cable.
- Change placement: Move an indoor antenna higher or closer to a window.
- Check the local affiliate: The CBS station may have a different virtual channel number than expected.
- Test another television: This can reveal whether the problem is the antenna, cable, or television tuner.
- Consider an outdoor or attic antenna: This may help in a weak-signal area, but it is not always practical or permitted.
- Use a paid streaming service if reception is not workable: Do not assume a larger antenna will solve severe terrain or building-related blockage.
The antenna route is free to watch after setup, but it is not an online stream. It is over-the-air television received directly by your TV.
Option 2: Check for a free CBS Sports stream closer to the game
CBS Sports has previously directed viewers to its website and CBS Sports app for Army-Navy viewing. That history does not prove that the December 12, 2026 game will receive the same treatment. The current 2026 CBS Sports schedule information confirms the date, time, and venue but does not yet publish a final digital-stream designation.

- unavailable in your location.
Until CBS Sports confirms the 2026 access method, no responsible guide can promise that the game will be free on CBSSports.com or in the CBS Sports app. Prior-year instructions are useful precedent, not confirmation of this year’s broadcast arrangement.
Option 3: Stream the game with Paramount+
Paramount+ Premium is the principal online alternative if you cannot receive CBS over the air. Paramount+ currently describes its Premium plan as including live access to the viewer’s local CBS station, and the CBS Sports rights arrangement includes the Paramount streaming ecosystem.

- Easy to Install: Plug the coaxial cable from your digital indoor HDTV antenna into the ANT/IN connector on the back of your TV, point the TV antenna toward your local TV tower and scan for channels. (Check "dtv gov maps" for available channels).
This is a paid option, not a free workaround. Before subscribing, verify the current Premium price, whether your local CBS affiliate is included at your address, and any applicable restrictions. Plan names, prices, local-station availability, promotional terms, and blackout policies can change before December 2026.
If you already subscribe, test the service before kickoff rather than waiting until the broadcast begins. Confirm that the live-TV section shows your local CBS station—not merely on-demand CBS programming—and check whether the game is available on the device you plan to use.
Pregame checklist
- Confirm the schedule: Saturday, December 12, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. ET.
- Choose your route: Antenna for the free option; Paramount+ or another officially confirmed method if antenna reception is inadequate.
- Test CBS early: Tune to the local affiliate several days before the game.
- Rescan if necessary: Run the television’s antenna channel scan if the station is missing.
- Check digital details: Review the official CBS Sports event page during game week for the final website and app streaming instructions.
- Check time zones: The listed kickoff is 3:00 p.m. Eastern; that is 2:00 p.m. Central, 1:00 p.m. Mountain, and noon Pacific.
- Prepare a backup: If the antenna signal is unreliable, identify an official paid stream or a local viewing option before kickoff.
Can you watch Army-Navy free online without cable?
Possibly, but it is not confirmed yet for 2026. The confirmed free, no-cable method is over-the-air reception of your local CBS affiliate with an antenna. A free web or app stream may be announced by CBS Sports, but the current schedule information does not establish that one will be available or whether it will require authentication.
Be cautious with pages promising a guaranteed free stream before CBS Sports publishes the official details. Unofficial sports-streaming sites commonly use aggressive pop-ups, misleading play buttons, malware, or unauthorized broadcasts. They can also disappear during the game. Use the antenna or an officially listed CBS, CBS Sports, or Paramount+ option instead.
What not to use
StreamNeo is not a viewer service for Army-Navy. Its official product description concerns looping recorded video into a continuous YouTube livestream for creators and broadcasters; it does not provide access to a live CBS football broadcast.

For the 2026 Army-Navy Game, start with an antenna: it is the only clearly established free, no-cable route, provided your address can receive the local CBS affiliate. Check CBS Sports during game week for a possible free web or app stream, but do not treat prior-year coverage as a guarantee. If you need a dependable online option and local CBS is available in your market, Paramount+ Premium is the current paid fallback.
