Netflix Games are included with an active Netflix membership. Netflix says its games currently have no ads, extra fees, or in-app purchases. Mobile games are downloaded to iPhone, iPad, and Android devices; supported TVs and computers offer a separate beta experience, usually controlled with a phone or tablet.

The way you start playing depends on the device: mobile games are downloaded to an iPhone, iPad, or Android device, while a smaller beta catalog can be streamed through supported TVs and computers at Netflix.com.
You do not normally need to buy a gamepad, HDMI adapter, or separate gaming subscription. For TV play, Netflix uses a phone or tablet as the controller. On a computer, some games work with a keyboard and mouse, while others can use a phone or tablet controller.

The mobile and TV/web experiences are separate. A game that appears in Netflix’s Mobile Games row may not be playable on a TV or in a browser. For TV and computer play, look specifically for a title with a Play Game button.

How to play Netflix Games on an iPhone or iPad
- Open the Netflix app and choose a profile.
- On the Netflix home screen, scroll to the Mobile Games row.
- Select the game you want to install, then tap Get Game or Play Game.
- When the App Store banner appears, tap Get or the cloud-download icon.
- After installation, tap Open.
- If Netflix asks, sign in and select the Netflix profile you want to use.
After installation, you can start the game from the iPhone or iPad home screen, the Netflix app’s Mobile Games row, or the game’s App Store listing. Inside a game, use the profile icon if you need to switch Netflix profiles.
You can also open the App Store directly, search for a Netflix game by name, install it, and open it. The game may ask you to sign in to Netflix and choose a profile during setup. Depending on the title, progress may be stored locally on the device or through cloud saves, so do not assume that every game handles saved progress in exactly the same way.
How to play Netflix Games on Android
- Open the Netflix app and choose a profile.
- Find the Mobile Games row, or tap the Games shortcut at the top of the app.
- Select a game and tap Get Game.
- Netflix will open Google Play. Tap Install.
- When the download finishes, tap Open.
- Sign in with Netflix or select a Netflix profile if the game prompts you to do so.
Later, you can launch the game from Netflix’s Mobile Games row, the Games shortcut, the Android app drawer, or the device’s home screen. You may also search for the title directly in Google Play and install it there.
Mobile requirements
- Android: Android 8 or later.
- iPhone and iPad: iOS or iPadOS 15.0 or later for Netflix Games.
- All mobile devices: an active Netflix membership, internet access for downloading and installing, enough free storage, and compatibility with the particular game.
Individual games can require a newer operating-system version or particular hardware. If a title will not install or does not appear in your app store, check that game’s specific requirements rather than assuming that every Netflix game supports every compatible Netflix device.

- Open Netflix on the TV or TV streaming device.
- Choose a Netflix profile.
- Select Games at the top of the Netflix screen.
- Choose a game that has a Play Game button.
- When the QR code appears, have each player scan it with a phone or tablet.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the phone or tablet as the controller.
- Start the game after the controller connects.
Each player needs a phone or tablet. The phone is acting as the controller, not as the screen on which the TV game runs. A game without a Play Game button is probably a mobile-only title and cannot be launched on the TV.
How to connect an Android phone or tablet as the TV controller
- Open the device’s native camera and scan the QR code on the TV.
- Follow the link that appears.
- Install or open the Netflix app if prompted.
- Scan the QR code again if Netflix asks you to.
- Wait for the controller connection, then keep the phone awake while playing.
How to connect an iPhone or iPad as the TV controller
- Use the native Camera app to scan the QR code on the TV.
- Open the Netflix controller prompt.
- If prompted, install the Netflix Game Controller app.
- Complete the on-screen connection steps and wait for the controller to connect.
Netflix’s current controller workflow for iPhone and iPad requires iOS/iPadOS 17 or later. That is a separate requirement from installing mobile Netflix Games, which requires iOS/iPadOS 15.0 or later.
How to play Netflix Games on a computer or in a web browser
- On a computer, open Netflix.com in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
- Choose a Netflix profile.
- Select Games at the top of the page.
- Choose a title with a Play Game button.
- Launch the game.
- Use the keyboard and mouse, or connect a phone or tablet by scanning the QR code if that title supports a mobile controller.
Netflix recommends a stable connection and at least 10 Mbps download speed for TV and computer play. If the browser shows only mobile games, update Chrome or Edge, confirm that you are using a computer rather than an unsupported browser, and check whether the beta experience is available to your country and account.
Do you need a controller for Netflix Games?
Usually, no separate controller is required. Netflix’s current TV controller system uses a phone or tablet connected by QR code. On computers, some games use the keyboard and mouse and some can use a phone or tablet.
Netflix says physical gamepads and other external controllers are not currently supported for the relevant TV and computer experience. That means buying a Bluetooth controller is not a reliable solution if your goal is specifically to play Netflix Games. Likewise, do not assume that casting from a phone or using AirPlay will turn a mobile game into a TV game.

Can you cast Netflix Games or use AirPlay?
Netflix’s normal casting and mirroring guidance concerns shows and movies, not the current Games workflow. The supported Games method is to open the Games area directly on a compatible TV or at Netflix.com and connect a phone or tablet as a controller. AirPlay from an iPhone or iPad is not the normal supported method for playing Netflix Games.
An HDMI cable or adapter may be relevant to displaying ordinary video from a device, but Netflix’s video-adapter guidance does not establish it as a supported way to play Netflix Games. Do not buy an adapter expecting it to add TV Games support.
Where are TV and computer Netflix Games available?
The TV and computer experience is a beta rollout, so availability depends on your country, Netflix account, device, software, and sometimes the individual title. Netflix’s current Help Center list includes:

- France
- Germany
- Ireland
- Italy
- Mexico
- The Netherlands
- New Zealand
- Poland
- South Africa
- Spain
- Sweden
- Switzerland
- United Kingdom
This list and the rollout can change. A country being supported does not guarantee that every Netflix account or every TV model has access. Netflix’s rollout has expanded progressively from a limited beta, including a later Brazil expansion recorded in its April 27, 2026 update.
What to do if Games is missing
There is no Games row on the TV
- Confirm that your country is included in the current TV Games rollout.
- Check Netflix’s Manage Access and Devices area and use the option to show devices compatible with games, if available.
- Update the TV or streaming device software.
- Update the Netflix app if your device allows separate app updates.
- Check whether the TV or streaming device meets Netflix’s hardware and manufacture-year requirements.
- Remember that a mobile-only game will not have a playable TV listing.
There is no Games section, or the browser shows only mobile games
- Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a computer.
- Update the browser.
- Check that your country and Netflix account have access to the beta feature.
- Choose a game with Play Game; a title without that button may be mobile-only.
The QR code will not connect the controller
- Scan with the phone’s native camera rather than an in-app scanner.
- Move the phone farther from or closer to the screen and tap to focus.
- Check that camera permission is enabled for the relevant app.
- Keep the phone awake. If the controller disconnects after the screen turns off, wake it and scan again.
- Check the phone and TV/computer network conditions and temporarily disable a VPN while testing.
You see a connection or concurrency error
- Restart your router or other network equipment if the connection is unstable.
- Stop a game or close Netflix on another device if too many people are playing on the account.
- Try again later if the title is temporarily unavailable for maintenance or an update.
Are Netflix Games really free and ad-free?
“Free” means included with a paid Netflix membership; it does not mean that you can play without subscribing to Netflix. Netflix’s current guidance says its games are included with membership and do not contain ads, extra fees, or in-app purchases. Netflix’s advertising help information separately says advertisements are not currently shown in games.

That is the current policy, not a permanent guarantee about every future title or platform. Netflix can change its catalog, regional availability, beta features, and product policies. If you are checking this article well after August 12, 2026, verify the current details in your Netflix app and account.
Do you need to buy anything?
No purchase is required by the setup described above beyond having an active Netflix membership and compatible equipment you already own. A phone or tablet is useful for mobile play and is required as a controller for TV play, but Netflix does not require a special handset. A physical game controller is not a recommended purchase because Netflix currently says external controllers are unsupported for this experience.
If you are already shopping for a TV or streaming device for Netflix generally, check Netflix’s in-account compatibility information before buying. Games support can vary by model, manufacturer year, country, software version, and account rollout; no single device should be treated as guaranteed to support Netflix Games without that check.

Can I use a Bluetooth controller with Netflix Games on my TV?
For TV play, each player needs a phone or tablet to use as the controller. Netflix currently does not support physical gamepads for the relevant TV and computer Games experience.
Can I play Netflix Games through Chromecast, casting, or AirPlay?

Why is Netflix Games missing from my TV?
