Meghan Markle shared rare new photos of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in a July 23, 2026 Instagram carousel captioned “Summer Holiday ☀️.” The family snapshots show the children with Meghan and Prince Harry during casual beach, pool, travel, dining, and outdoor moments, including one image reported as Althorp.
The post attracted attention because Meghan and Harry generally share relatively few public images of their children. The photographs are best understood as personal holiday snapshots, not a formal royal portrait release or a documented account of every stop on the family’s trip.

What do the new Archie and Lilibet photos show?
The reported images present the Sussex family in relaxed settings rather than arranged studio portraits. Coverage describes beach scenes, a pool moment in which Harry tosses Lilibet into the air, Archie near or inside a plane cockpit, family dining, and photographs from the family’s reported summer travels.
| Photo or setting | What reporting describes | What can be safely concluded |
|---|---|---|
| Beach | Casual family holiday imagery | The carousel includes outdoor leisure scenes. |
| Pool | Harry is reported to be tossing Lilibet into the air | The image shows a playful family moment. |
| Plane cockpit | Archie appears near or in a cockpit | The photo shows Archie in a travel-related setting. |
| Family meal | The family is shown dining together | The post includes an everyday family-life scene. |
| Althorp | Harry is shown walking with Archie and Lilibet along a tree-lined path while carrying flowers | British Vogue and other coverage identify the setting as Althorp; the purpose and date of the visit should not be overstated. |
Was the photo of Harry and the children taken at Princess Diana’s estate?
The photo was reported as being taken at Althorp, the Spencer family estate where Princess Diana grew up. British Vogue identified the setting as Althorp and described the image as a glimpse of the family’s visit to Diana’s childhood home.
The image reportedly shows Harry walking with Archie and Lilibet along a tree-lined path while carrying flowers. It is reasonable to describe the family as carrying flowers at Althorp. The available reporting does not justify stating with certainty why the flowers were carried, exactly when the photograph was taken, or that the family placed them on Diana’s grave. Some coverage inferred that the family may have been heading toward the lake associated with Diana’s burial place.
How many photos were in Meghan’s summer-holiday carousel?
Reports disagree about the number of images. Town & Country reported eleven pictures, while El País reported twelve photographs. Unless the original Instagram carousel is checked during publication, the accurate wording is that Meghan shared a carousel reported by outlets as containing 11 to 12 images.

| Source | Reported count | Source date |
|---|---|---|
| Town & Country | 11 pictures | July 23, 2026 |
| El País | 12 photographs | July 24, 2026 |
The July 23 date is the date Meghan posted the carousel. The individual photographs were not individually dated in the reporting reviewed, so the post date should not be treated as the date on which every image was taken.
How old are Archie and Lilibet in the latest pictures?
July 2026 coverage identified Prince Archie as seven and Princess Lilibet as five. Those are the ages reported at the time of the coverage, not necessarily the ages on the dates when the individual photographs were taken.
| Child | Reported age in July 2026 coverage | Relevant earlier 2026 coverage |
|---|---|---|
| Prince Archie | Seven | Shown with Lilibet in Meghan’s June Father’s Day post |
| Princess Lilibet | Five | Birthday coverage in June 2026 included two new photographs |
Meghan also shared a separate Father’s Day post on June 21, 2026 showing Harry embracing both children. Vogue quoted Meghan’s caption: “They’re so lucky to have you,” followed by, “We all are.” Separate June birthday coverage reported that Meghan shared two new photographs for Lilibet’s fifth birthday; Marie Claire’s report covers the birthday images.
How does the July carousel differ from Meghan’s earlier 2026 family posts?
The July carousel is broader and more informal than the earlier 2026 releases: it reportedly combines several holiday and family-life settings, while the June Father’s Day post centered on a single embrace and Lilibet’s birthday coverage focused on birthday portraits.

| Release | Timing | Composition | What it shows |
|---|---|---|---|
| Summer Holiday carousel | July 23, 2026 | Multiple casual family and travel scenes | Archie and Lilibet together or separately in beach, pool, dining, travel, and outdoor settings |
| Father’s Day post | June 21, 2026 | More focused family image | Harry embracing both children |
| Lilibet’s fifth-birthday coverage | June 4, 2026 | Birthday-focused portraits | Two new photographs of Lilibet reported in connection with her fifth birthday |
The visibility of the children also varies across the posts. The July material includes images in which the children may be shown together, individually, from the side, or at a distance. Descriptions should follow what is visible in the original images rather than infer details that the photographs do not establish.
Are the Althorp photos connected to the Highgrove meeting?
No. The Althorp photograph and the reported Highgrove meeting are separate pieces of reporting. The July Instagram carousel should not be described as showing the Sussex family’s meeting with King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
The Associated Press reported that Buckingham Palace confirmed a separate, reportedly private meeting involving Harry, Meghan, Archie, Lilibet, King Charles III, and Queen Camilla at Highgrove. The Associated Press report on the Highgrove meeting did not identify a publicly released photograph of that meeting in the sources reviewed.
That distinction matters: the July carousel provides images from family travel and leisure moments, including the image identified as Althorp, while the Highgrove encounter was reported separately and was not visually documented by the carousel.

What is confirmed—and what remains uncertain?
The confirmed core of the story is Meghan’s July 23 Instagram post, its “Summer Holiday ☀️” caption, and the informal family scenes described by multiple outlets. The Althorp setting has been identified by coverage, but readers should distinguish an outlet’s location identification from independent photographic geolocation.
- Confirmed: Meghan posted the carousel on July 23, 2026.
- Confirmed: The caption read “Summer Holiday ☀️.”
- Reported: One image was taken or shown at Althorp.
- Unresolved: Whether the carousel contained 11 or 12 images.
- Unconfirmed: The dates of the individual photographs.
- Do not infer: That the flowers were definitely taken to Diana’s grave or that the carousel documented the Highgrove meeting.
Meghan Markle’s July 23, 2026 “Summer Holiday ☀️” carousel therefore offers rare, personal glimpses of Archie and Lilibet during family travel and leisure. The Althorp image is the most historically notable photograph, while the image-count disagreement and undated snapshots are the key reasons to avoid presenting every detail as settled fact.
