Photographs and social-media posts brought the problem to public attention around November 9 and 10, 2024, shortly before the film’s U.S. theatrical release on November 22. Mattel’s apology and advice to families
Mattel said it “deeply regretted” the error and characterized it as a misprint on the packaging. The company advised consumers who already owned an affected product to either throw away the box or obscure the incorrect web address. The company’s guidance focused on the packaging rather than instructing consumers to return or dispose of the doll itself. Parents who bought one of the products should therefore check the box, avoid entering the printed address, and cover or remove it if it is the incorrect domain.
It is important not to reproduce or link to the adult website. The relevant safety point is simply that Wicked.com was not the official movie destination, while WickedMovie.com was the intended address.

The available information concerns certain Mattel Wicked doll packages, not every product associated with the film.
