Beyoncé has won 35 GRAMMY Awards through the 2025 ceremony. Her complete record begins with five Destiny’s Child-era wins, reaches a six-award single-night peak in 2010, and culminates with three historic victories for COWBOY CARTER in 2025—including her first Album of the Year award.
Beyoncé has won 35 GRAMMY Awards through the 67th GRAMMY Awards in 2025, from a career-high six wins in one night to victories in R&B, pop, rap, music film, dance/electronic music and country. Her first five awards came as a member and songwriter of Destiny’s Child; her most recent three came for COWBOY CARTER, including her first win for Album of the Year.
The Recording Academy’s artist record lists Beyoncé with 35 wins and 99 nominations as of the 2025 GRAMMYs. This timeline follows the ceremony year used in the Academy’s archive and counts wins, not nominations. Because the Academy includes Destiny’s Child awards in Beyoncé’s artist-level career total, the chronology begins in 2000 rather than with her solo debut.

The complete timeline of Beyoncé’s GRAMMY wins
2000 — two first wins with Destiny’s Child
Beyoncé’s first GRAMMY victories came before her solo career, when she was a member of Destiny’s Child. At the 42nd GRAMMY Awards, the group won both awards connected to “Bills, Bills, Bills”:

- Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal: “Bills, Bills, Bills” — Destiny’s Child.
- Best R&B Song: “Bills, Bills, Bills” — awarded to the songwriters, including Beyoncé Knowles.
The two awards represent different kinds of recognition: the performance award belongs to the recording’s performers, while Best R&B Song recognizes songwriting.
2001 — two wins for “Say My Name”
Destiny’s Child repeated the previous year’s two-category success at the 43rd GRAMMY Awards:
- Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal: “Say My Name” — Destiny’s Child.
- Best R&B Song: “Say My Name” — songwriters including Beyoncé Knowles.
“Say My Name” was also nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, but those nominations did not become wins. Keeping that distinction matters: Beyoncé’s career total is a count of awards actually won, not a count of finalist appearances.
2002 — one win for “Survivor”
At the 44th GRAMMY Awards, Destiny’s Child won:
- Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal: “Survivor” — Destiny’s Child.
This brought Beyoncé’s Destiny’s Child-era total to five GRAMMY wins between 2000 and 2002.
2004 — five wins for Dangerously In Love
Beyoncé’s first solo album, Dangerously In Love, immediately turned her into a major individual GRAMMY winner. At the 46th GRAMMY Awards, she collected five awards across album, song, performance and collaboration categories:
- Best Rap/Sung Collaboration: “Crazy In Love” — Beyoncé featuring Jay-Z.
- Best R&B Song: “Crazy In Love.”
- Best Contemporary R&B Album: Dangerously In Love.
- Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal: “The Closer I Get To You” — Luther Vandross and Beyoncé.
- Best Female R&B Vocal Performance: “Dangerously In Love 2.”
Five wins in one ceremony matched the five awards she had accumulated with Destiny’s Child across the previous three ceremonies. The result was not simply a successful solo debut; it showed that Beyoncé could win both as a lead artist and through songwriting, collaboration and album-level recognition.

At the 49th GRAMMY Awards, Beyoncé won:
- Best Contemporary R&B Album: B’Day.
It was her second consecutive solo win in the contemporary R&B album category, following Dangerously In Love.
2010 — six wins for “Single Ladies,” “Halo” and I Am… Sasha Fierce
The 52nd GRAMMY Awards marked Beyoncé’s biggest single-night haul. She won six awards, a record at the time for the most GRAMMY wins by a female artist in one night:

- Song of the Year: “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” — songwriting award.
- Best Female Pop Vocal Performance: “Halo.”
- Best Female R&B Vocal Performance: “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).”
- Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance: “At Last.”
- Best R&B Song: “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).”
- Best Contemporary R&B Album: I Am… Sasha Fierce.
The six awards covered multiple forms of credit. “Single Ladies” won for songwriting, performance and R&B songwriting, while “Halo,” “At Last” and the album brought wins in separate performance and album categories. Older GRAMMY archives sometimes vary in how they display performer, songwriter and album credits, but the six-win total is consistent.
2013 — one win for “Love On Top”
At the 55th GRAMMY Awards, Beyoncé won:
- Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance: “Love On Top.”
This was her only win at that ceremony.
2015 — three wins connected to Beyoncé and “Drunk in Love”
The 57th GRAMMY Awards recognized Beyoncé in both song and album-related categories:
- Best R&B Song: “Drunk In Love” — Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
- Best R&B Solo Performance: “Drunk In Love.”
- Best Immersive Audio Album: Beyoncé.
The first two awards honored the song’s writing and performance. The immersive-audio award recognized the album’s audio production, illustrating how a GRAMMY win can involve creative and technical contributors beyond the performing artist.
2017 — two wins for Lemonade and “Formation”
At the 59th GRAMMY Awards, Beyoncé won two awards:

Lemonade was also nominated in major categories including Album of the Year. Those nominations are part of the broader GRAMMY story, but they are not included in the win count.
2020 — one win for Homecoming
At the 62nd GRAMMY Awards, Beyoncé won:
- Best Music Film: Homecoming.
The award recognized the live-performance film associated with her historic 2018 Coachella performance. It also marked a clear expansion of her GRAMMY record beyond recorded-song and album categories.
2021 — four wins across music video, rap and R&B
Beyoncé won four awards at the 63rd GRAMMY Awards:
- Best Music Video: “Brown Skin Girl” — among the credited artists were Beyoncé, Blue Ivy Carter and Wizkid.
- Best Rap Performance: “Savage” — Megan Thee Stallion featuring Beyoncé.
- Best Rap Song: “Savage.”
- Best R&B Solo Performance: “Black Parade.”
These wins broadened Beyoncé’s record in two important ways. “Savage” gave her victories in both a rap performance category and a rap songwriting category, and she became the first woman to win Best Rap Performance.

- Best Dance/Electronic Recording: “Break My Soul.”
- Best Dance/Electronic Album: RENAISSANCE.
- Best R&B Song: “Cuff It.”
- Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance: “Plastic Off The Sofa.”
The dance/electronic album win for RENAISSANCE brought Beyoncé’s career total to 32 and made her the most-awarded artist in GRAMMY history at that point. The result was another example of her record expanding through genre movement rather than remaining confined to her early R&B successes.

- Album of the Year: COWBOY CARTER.
- Best Contemporary Country Album: COWBOY CARTER.
- Best Country Duo/Group Performance: “II MOST WANTED” — Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus.
The Album of the Year victory was Beyoncé’s first in the category. Her win for Best Contemporary Country Album also made her the first Black woman to win that category in GRAMMY history, according to the Recording Academy’s 2025 coverage.

These three awards raised her career total from 32 to 35. They also completed the clearest genre arc in her GRAMMY history: from Destiny’s Child’s R&B group recordings, through pop, rap and dance/electronic music, to a country-focused album.
How many GRAMMYs has Beyoncé won?
Beyoncé has won 35 GRAMMY Awards according to the Recording Academy artist record available after the 2025 ceremony. She has received 99 nominations in that same record.
The 35-win total includes five awards credited to Destiny’s Child from 2000 through 2002. It also includes awards for which the official GRAMMY credit may be shared with songwriters, producers, featured performers, collaborators or other contributors. That is why the number should be understood as Beyoncé’s Academy artist-level total, not as 35 awards in which she was necessarily the sole credited recipient.
What happened at the 2026 GRAMMYs?
The latest verified chronology does not show a Beyoncé win at the 68th GRAMMY Awards. Therefore, the most recent confirmed additions to her record remain the three awards won on February 2, 2025. Her total should not be increased for 2026 unless an official ceremony record or later correction changes that result.

- The range of categories expanded. Later victories included Best Music Film for Homecoming, rap awards for “Savage,” dance/electronic awards for RENAISSANCE and country awards for COWBOY CARTER.
- The biggest record came gradually. Her 32nd win arrived in 2023, when RENAISSANCE won Best Dance/Electronic Album. Three more wins in 2025 brought the total to 35.
