In the United States, Apple TV is the only officially documented free-streaming route for A Charlie Brown Christmas—and only when Apple opens its short holiday window for nonsubscribers. The 2026 dates have not been announced yet; the latest confirmed window was December 13–14, 2025.
Apple TV is the official free-streaming route—but only during a limited holiday window
In the United States, the only officially documented way to stream A Charlie Brown Christmas for free is to watch it during Apple’s temporary holiday promotion for nonsubscribers. Apple TV is the special’s official streaming home, and Apple has extended its exclusive Peanuts streaming arrangement through 2030.
There is one important catch for 2026: Apple has not yet announced the exact dates for this year’s free viewing window in the official materials located for this guide. The latest confirmed dates were Saturday, December 13, and Sunday, December 14, 2025. Do not treat those dates as a 2026 schedule.
How to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas for free in 2026
- Watch for Apple’s holiday announcement. Apple has previously offered the special free to nonsubscribers for a short period around the holidays. The 2026 dates should be confirmed through Apple TV Press, the Apple TV app, or the official Peanuts holiday-specials page.
- Open the Apple TV app during the announced window. Search for A Charlie Brown Christmas and look for the free-access presentation. The exact wording and placement may vary by device and region.
- Start watching before the window closes. A temporary promotion is not the same as year-round free streaming. Once Apple’s announced period ends, nonsubscribers may need a subscription or another legal viewing option.
Apple’s earlier promotions show why checking the official announcement matters. In 2022, Apple announced a December 22–25 free window. In 2025, the window was shorter, running December 13–14. The dates can change from year to year.

What if the 2026 free dates are not announced yet?
There is no confirmed 2026 date to provide at this time. Apple’s 2026 Peanuts programming announcement reaffirmed that Apple remains the exclusive streaming home for the franchise through 2030, but it did not publish the free-streaming dates for A Charlie Brown Christmas.
That means a page, social-media post, or search result claiming a definite 2026 date should be treated cautiously unless it points to a current Apple or official Peanuts announcement. The most useful plan is to check again as the holiday season approaches rather than relying on the 2025 schedule.
Can you watch it through an Apple TV trial?
Outside the limited free window, the U.S. Apple TV title page currently presents the special with a seven-day free trial followed by $12.99 per month. That offer is an access route, but it is not identical to Apple’s free holiday promotion.

Apple’s expanded agreement with the Peanuts rights holders makes Apple the exclusive streaming home for the classic Peanuts library, including the holiday specials, through 2030. The official Peanuts holiday-specials page likewise directs viewers to the Apple TV app and an Apple TV subscription.
“Exclusive streaming home” does not mean that no one can legally watch the special anywhere else. It describes the official streaming-rights arrangement. A library may carry a disc, a family may own a copy, or a local organization may arrange a licensed screening. Those possibilities are separate from free online streaming.

What not to trust when searching for a free stream
Do not rely on unofficial uploads, pop-up-heavy streaming pages, torrents, or listings that use “free” to disguise a subscription, rental, or unsafe download. Besides the legal uncertainty, these pages can expose viewers to misleading buttons, malware, or requests for payment information.

The safe distinction is simple: Apple’s free offer is a limited, officially announced viewing window for nonsubscribers. It is not proof that every page claiming to stream the special for free is authorized.
