Bally Sports Midwest is now FanDuel Sports Network Midwest, and the Cardinals’ 2026 local broadcasts have moved to Cardinals.TV. If you are looking for a Cardinals channel, start with the team’s current MLB-produced service rather than an old Bally or FanDuel listing. The published 2026 provider numbers include DIRECTV channel 672, AT&T U-verse channel 1746, Spectrum channels 362 or 233, and an Xfinity listing of 1261 that should be verified because Xfinity announced a 2026 FanDuel channel removal.

Short answer: Bally Sports Midwest is no longer the current brand. It became FanDuel Sports Network Midwest, and the regional-sports model changed substantially during 2026. For St. Louis Cardinals games, the important current change is that MLB now produces and distributes local broadcasts through Cardinals.TV.

If you are looking for the Cardinals in 2026, the published channel numbers include 672 on DIRECTV and DIRECTV STREAM, 1746 on AT&T U-verse, 362 on Spectrum digital, 233 on Spectrum set-top boxes (or 535 in Evansville, Indiana), and 1261 on the Cardinals’ published Comcast/Xfinity list. These numbers are provider- and market-specific, and the Xfinity listing requires particular caution because Xfinity said FanDuel Sports Network channels were removed from its lineup on May 7, 2026.

The old FanDuel/Bally regional-sports listing is a separate matter: DIRECTV’s documents identify that former RSN service on channel 671. Do not assume that 671 is the current Cardinals channel. In 2026, “Bally Sports Midwest channel” and “Cardinals channel” are no longer necessarily the same thing.

What happened to Bally Sports Midwest?

Bally Sports Midwest was the former name of the regional sports network serving St. Louis and surrounding markets. The network was rebranded as FanDuel Sports Network Midwest. Its own FAQ described FanDuel Sports Network as the new name for the former Bally Sports networks and initially said that the rebrand preserved the existing programming and logins.

That initial continuity did not mean the long-term arrangement stayed the same. During 2026, team rights and distribution changed. The Cardinals moved their locally distributed games to an MLB-produced service called Cardinals.TV, while the regional network entered a wind-down or transition period.

Xfinity said FanDuel Sports Network channels were removed from its lineup on May 7, 2026, as Main Street Sports Group prepared to shut down its regional-sports-network operations. ESPN separately reported that the network had agreements to continue NBA and NHL programming through the end of the 2026 NBA regular season and the first round of the NHL playoffs. That supports describing FanDuel Sports Network Midwest as a service in transition—not as a normal, stable regional-sports option.

The available information does not establish a definitive final shutdown date. Consequently, an old article promising that Bally Sports Midwest or FanDuel Sports Network Midwest will carry every local Cardinals or Blues game is likely out of date.

Bally Sports Midwest vs. FanDuel Sports Network Midwest vs. Cardinals.TV

Name What it means How to treat it in 2026
Bally Sports Midwest The former brand name for the regional sports network. Useful as a legacy search term, but not the active brand name.
FanDuel Sports Network Midwest The rebranded regional network that replaced Bally Sports Midwest. In a wind-down or transition; do not assume it carries current Cardinals games.
Cardinals.TV MLB’s direct and local distribution path for Cardinals broadcasts beginning with the 2026 season. The primary current option for in-market Cardinals viewers who want live or on-demand access.

This distinction explains many conflicting channel guides. A provider may still show an old FanDuel or Bally channel number while the Cardinals’ local broadcasts are being distributed through a different MLB-produced feed. Channel listings can also vary according to ZIP code, package, equipment type, and the particular game.

How to watch Cardinals games in 2026

Option 1: Cardinals.TV through the MLB app

The Cardinals’ official 2026 watch information says Cardinals.TV replaces FanDuel Sports Network Midwest for locally distributed Cardinals games. In-market viewers can use the MLB app to stream games live or watch them on demand, subject to national exclusivity windows.

A Cardinals.TV subscription is the most direct option if you live in the Cardinals’ local market and do not want to depend on a traditional pay-TV provider. The official purchase page displays the current promotional and regular package information. Because the price and promotions can change, check the current purchase page rather than relying on an older dollar amount from a search result.

The service is not a guarantee that every Cardinals game appears in the Cardinals.TV local feed. The Cardinals identify nationally exclusive broadcasts as exceptions. Depending on the schedule, a game may instead be carried exclusively by a national partner such as:

In practical terms, Cardinals.TV is the local streaming route, not an all-platform replacement for every national broadcast. Check the game’s listing when it is carried by one of those national partners.

Option 2: A participating pay-TV provider

The Cardinals’ published channel information lists several pay-TV providers. The number shown below is the current Cardinals listing supplied by the team, not a universal guarantee for every customer in every market.

Provider Published 2026 Cardinals channel Important qualification
DIRECTV Cardinals channel — satellite and DIRECTV STREAM 672 Package, market, and service type still matter. This is separate from the former FanDuel/Bally RSN listing on 671.
AT&T U-verse 1746 Confirm the channel in your local guide.
Spectrum digital 362 Digital listings may differ from set-top-box listings.
Spectrum set-top box 233 535 in Evansville, Indiana.
Comcast/Xfinity 1261 on the Cardinals’ published list Xfinity separately announced the removal of FanDuel Sports Network channels on May 7, 2026. Verify the current game listing and local availability before relying on this number.
Fubo No single universal channel number Use the provider’s local channel guide and confirm that the relevant Cardinals feed is available in your ZIP code.

The Cardinals also list numerous regional cable and IPTV providers across Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, and adjacent markets. Those providers do not share one channel number. The reliable method is to enter your ZIP code on the provider’s channel lookup, search the provider’s guide for the game, or check the Cardinals’ current channel page.

Do not automatically assume that YouTube TV or Hulu + Live TV carry the former Bally/FanDuel regional channel. The provider list in the available FanDuel information does not establish that they do. Availability must be confirmed by a current provider source.

Former FanDuel or Bally channel numbers

Before the Cardinals moved to Cardinals.TV, FanDuel Sports Network Midwest was associated with providers including DIRECTV, Fubo, Mediacom, Spectrum, U-verse, Xfinity, Cox, and Prime Video. The network also promoted direct subscriptions and a Prime Video add-on route during its active period.

Those historical distribution arrangements should not be confused with the Cardinals’ 2026 broadcast arrangement. In particular:

  • DIRECTV channel 672 is listed separately for Cardinals broadcasts.
  • A channel appearing in an old Bally or FanDuel guide does not prove that the Cardinals’ current MLB-produced feed is on that channel.
  • A provider’s channel number may be visible in a guide even when the provider no longer carries the relevant network or when a particular event is being shown nationally elsewhere.

If you are troubleshooting an old 671 listing, first identify whether you are trying to watch a Cardinals game, a Blues game, or another former regional-network program. The answer may now involve a different service, a different channel, or a different rights holder.

Free Cardinals broadcasts over the air

Selected 2026 Cardinals games are available free over the air through KMOV and Matrix Midwest. The Cardinals’ official schedule identifies the specific dates, so this is not an every-game replacement for Cardinals.TV.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • KMOV: channel 4 in the St. Louis area.
  • Matrix Midwest: channel 32 over the air in the St. Louis area.
  • Matrix Midwest on Spectrum: channel 6 in the St. Louis area, according to the team’s broadcast announcement.

For the free broadcasts, an indoor TV antenna may be useful if your home can receive KMOV, Matrix Midwest, or another listed local affiliate. Reception is not universal. Distance from the transmitter, terrain, nearby buildings, wall materials, window placement, and antenna orientation can all affect the result. An antenna cannot receive a game that is not scheduled on the local over-the-air station, and it cannot replace Cardinals.TV for games carried only by a national partner.

Before buying equipment, check the Cardinals’ schedule for the exact over-the-air dates and confirm that the relevant station reaches your location. If reception is marginal, moving the antenna near an exterior window and rescanning the television can help, but no indoor model is reliable in every building or market.

What Blues viewers should know

The St. Louis Blues’ broadcast situation should be treated separately from the Cardinals’ move to Cardinals.TV. The Blues’ official Where to Watch page says viewers should stay tuned for the 2026–27 broadcast schedule. The page also documents that some 2025–26 Blues games were carried on FanDuel Sports Network and that selected programming was distributed over the air locally.

The available official information does not settle the Blues’ complete 2026–27 channel and streaming arrangement. Therefore, do not promise that FanDuel Sports Network Midwest, channel 671, Cardinals.TV, or any other single service will carry all Blues games.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For a particular Blues game:

  1. Check the Blues’ official Where to Watch page for the 2026–27 schedule.
  2. Check the local TV listings for the date and start time.
  3. Look for a national broadcast designation before assuming it is a regional game.
  4. Verify the provider, package, and ZIP-code availability immediately before puck drop.

Streaming devices and app setup

During the active FanDuel Sports Network period, the service documented support for Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Roku, selected Samsung and Vizio smart TVs, Xbox, and Xumo devices. That list is useful for legacy troubleshooting, but it is date-sensitive because the regional service entered a 2026 wind-down.

For current Cardinals viewing, the durable setup is the MLB app on a supported smart TV, phone, tablet, or streaming device, with access purchased through the official Cardinals.TV route. Installing an old FanDuel Sports Network app does not guarantee access to Cardinals broadcasts or restore a discontinued provider channel.

If your television does not support the MLB app, a streaming stick for the MLB app—such as a compatible Roku or Amazon Fire TV device—can provide a practical way to run the app. The device supplies the app platform and internet connection; it does not create rights to a channel, remove a blackout, or make a nationally exclusive game available through Cardinals.TV.

Troubleshooting: why the channel or stream is missing

1. You are using an old Bally or FanDuel article

Check the publication date. A guide written before the 2026 Cardinals move may be describing the former RSN rather than the current Cardinals.TV arrangement. Look specifically for the distinction between channel 671 and channel 672 on DIRECTV.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

2. You searched the wrong channel guide

Confirm your ZIP code, provider name, service type, and equipment. Spectrum digital and Spectrum set-top-box numbers are different, and Evansville uses a different Spectrum set-top-box number than the St. Louis listing.

3. Your provider lists a channel but not the game

Channel assignments and network availability are not the same as event availability. Search the guide for the specific Cardinals game. This is especially important for Xfinity customers after the May 7, 2026 FanDuel channel removal announcement.

4. The game is nationally exclusive

Check whether the schedule identifies ESPN, Peacock/NBC, FOX, Apple TV, ABC, or another national partner. A Cardinals.TV subscription does not necessarily include a game carried exclusively by one of those services.

5. The MLB app is installed but the game is unavailable

Verify that you are signed into the account used to purchase Cardinals.TV, that the app is updated, and that the device has a stable internet connection. Then check the game’s broadcast designation and your in-market eligibility. App installation alone is not proof that the game is included.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

6. You are trying to watch a Blues game

Do not use Cardinals.TV as a substitute for a Blues rights guide. Check the Blues’ official 2026–27 Where to Watch information and the local listing for that specific game.

7. You are trying to receive an over-the-air broadcast

Confirm that the date is one of the selected KMOV or Matrix Midwest broadcasts. Rescan your TV after connecting the antenna, try a different placement, and remember that signal conditions vary substantially between homes.

The practical answer by viewer type

If you are trying to… Start here
Watch most locally distributed Cardinals games without pay TV Check the current Cardinals.TV offering and use the MLB app.
Watch through DIRECTV or DIRECTV STREAM Check channel 672 and your package; treat 671 as the former FanDuel/Bally RSN listing.
Watch through Spectrum Check 362 for digital service or 233 for a set-top box; use 535 for the Evansville, Indiana set-top-box listing.
Watch a selected free local Cardinals broadcast Check the official schedule for KMOV channel 4 or Matrix Midwest channel 32 over the air.
Watch the Blues Wait for and follow the Blues’ official 2026–27 Where to Watch information; do not assume Cardinals.TV or the old RSN channel applies.
Use an old Bally/FanDuel subscription or app Recheck the team’s current rights and provider availability. The old login or app does not guarantee current Cardinals access.

Channel and rights information can change by season, market, package, and event. The Cardinals’ current watch and channel information, the Blues’ official Where to Watch page, and your provider’s local guide should take precedence over an older channel list.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Bally Sports Midwest still available?

Bally Sports Midwest is now FanDuel Sports Network Midwest, but the network entered a wind-down or transition during 2026. It is no longer safe to treat it as the normal current home of Cardinals broadcasts.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What channel is the Cardinals game on?

For Cardinals broadcasts, the Cardinals’ published 2026 listings include DIRECTV and DIRECTV STREAM channel 672, AT&T U-verse channel 1746, Spectrum digital channel 362, Spectrum set-top-box channel 233 (535 in Evansville, Indiana), and Comcast/Xfinity channel 1261. Verify locally, especially on Xfinity. The former FanDuel/Bally RSN is listed separately on DIRECTV channel 671.

Can I watch Cardinals games free with an antenna?

Yes, but only for selected games listed on the Cardinals’ official schedule. KMOV broadcasts some games on channel 4, and Matrix Midwest broadcasts selected games on channel 32 over the air in the St. Louis area. An antenna is required for over-the-air reception, and reception varies by location.

Does Cardinals.TV include every Cardinals game?

No. Cardinals.TV is the local MLB-produced route for 2026 Cardinals broadcasts, but nationally exclusive games may instead appear on ESPN, Peacock/NBC, FOX, Apple TV, or ABC.

Where can I watch the St. Louis Blues?

The complete 2026–27 Blues arrangement is not settled in the available official information. Check the Blues’ Where to Watch page and your local listings for each game rather than assuming FanDuel Sports Network Midwest, channel 671, or Cardinals.TV will carry it.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Do YouTube TV or Hulu carry Bally Sports Midwest?

Do not assume that YouTube TV or Hulu + Live TV carry the former Bally/FanDuel regional channel. The provider list available for this guide does not establish that they do; confirm current availability directly with the service.

The Bottom Line

Bottom line: Bally Sports Midwest is now associated with FanDuel Sports Network Midwest, but the former regional-sports model is winding down. For 2026 Cardinals games, start with Cardinals.TV and the MLB app; use the provider-specific listings—such as DIRECTV channel 672—only after confirming your ZIP code and package. The old FanDuel/Bally channel 671 is not automatically the current Cardinals channel, and the Blues’ 2026–27 distribution remains unresolved.
