He described himself as the father of eight children in a 2024 Club Shay Shay interview, but later reporting says he and Jasmin Brown welcomed a son in October 2025. The family story is also more nuanced than a simple list of biological children. Five of Newton’s children are publicly named in the reporting reviewed: four with Kia Proctor and one with LaReina Shaw. Two children with Brown have been reported but not publicly named in the reliable sources reviewed. Newton has also described or treated two children from previous relationships as part of his broader blended family.
At a glance: The eight-child figure belongs to Newton’s 2024 public account. Later 2025 reporting describes a family of nine: seven biological children, plus two children from prior relationships whom Newton helps raise or includes in his family identity.

Cashmere is Newton and Proctor’s other publicly identified son.
Caesar Lorenzo Newton
Caesar Lorenzo Newton is Cam Newton’s publicly identified son with LaReina Shaw. Later reporting places Caesar’s birth in July 2019.
Shaw is also the mother of Jaden, an older son from a previous relationship. Newton has included Jaden in the broader family picture, but Jaden is not Newton’s biological child. That distinction matters because Newton’s public description of his family has included children whom he helps raise, not only children who are biologically his.
Newton’s two children with Jasmin Brown
Newton and Jasmin Brown welcomed a daughter in 2024, according to later reporting. They welcomed a son in October 2025. The reliable sources reviewed for this article did not publicly disclose either child’s name.
For that reason, it is more accurate to refer to them as Newton and Brown’s daughter and son than to repeat names found on speculative social-media posts or low-quality celebrity-list sites. Unless the family makes a reliable, direct public disclosure, their names should remain private.
The two children Newton helps raise
Newton’s wider blended-family account includes two children from partners’ previous relationships:
- Jaden: LaReina Shaw’s older son, whom Newton includes in his broader family identity.
- Shakira: Kia Proctor’s daughter from a previous relationship, whom Newton has also helped raise or treated as part of his family.
Neither child should be described as Newton’s biological child based on the reporting reviewed. The available coverage also does not establish private custody arrangements, living schedules, schooling, medical information, or the children’s personal views. Those details should not be inferred from public family-count statements.
Why some reports say eight children and later reports say nine
The differing numbers reflect both timing and the way Newton defines family. In April 2024, Newton publicly said he had eight children, describing a family that included six biological children and two children he had adopted or treated as his own. That statement was repeated in coverage published in February 2025.

Later reporting added the birth of Newton and Brown’s son in October 2025. Counting the children identified across the later family reporting produces nine: seven biological children and two children from prior relationships whom Newton helps raise or includes in his blended-family identity.
Because the count has changed, “Cam Newton’s eight kids” is accurate only when it is tied to the earlier 2024 account. It should not be presented without a date as though it were the latest total.
What Cam Newton has said about fatherhood
Newton has spoken about his children as a source of purpose, peace, refuge, and encouragement. Those comments support the conclusion that fatherhood is an important part of his public identity.

His verified YouTube channel has also published family-centered material, including a video about surprising his children. Such public content shows the family’s place in Newton’s media presence, but it does not establish what their private routines or relationships are like.

Public reporting identifies several children and describes the broad structure of Newton’s blended family. It does not provide a reliable basis for claiming details about:
- custody schedules or living arrangements;
- schools, daily routines, or medical information;
- the names of Newton and Brown’s two children;
- the children’s private opinions about their parents or one another; or
- legal relationships that go beyond what Newton or credible reporting has explicitly described.
Keeping those boundaries clear is especially important in an article about minor children. A family count can be reported without turning unverified personal details into fact.
The bottom line
