Raegan Revord and McKenna Grace, who played Missy Cooper and Paige Swanson on Young Sheldon, reunited in a photo that gave fans a striking reminder of how much the performers had grown since the series began.
The image was reported on December 19, 2022, as a sweet reunion outside the show’s fictional world. It was not a newly filmed Young Sheldon scene, a confirmed franchise announcement, or evidence that the characters had been aged up on screen. The appeal was simpler: two actors associated with one of the series’ most memorable friendships appeared together again.
Who played Missy and Paige on Young Sheldon?
Revord played Missy Cooper, Sheldon’s twin sister. Although Sheldon’s intellect often drives the series, Missy provides a different perspective on growing up in the Cooper family and frequently brings a sharper emotional and social awareness to the story.
#1 Best Overall
Grace played Paige Swanson, another exceptionally gifted child who is introduced as Sheldon’s intellectual peer and occasional rival. Paige’s presence gives Sheldon someone who can understand his abilities—and challenge him—in a way that most of the people around him cannot.
Missy and Paige eventually develop a friendship, giving viewers a reason to remember the characters together rather than simply as two young performers who appeared in the same sitcom. Their shared storylines made the reunion photo especially recognizable to Young Sheldon fans.
Why the photo attracted so much attention
The “all grown-up” reaction refers to Revord and Grace, not to Missy and Paige. When Young Sheldon premiered, both performers were known to audiences as child actors playing young people navigating family, school, friendship and extraordinary academic ability. Seeing them together later naturally highlighted the passage of time.
That distinction matters. The image was a real-life appearance by the performers, not a time jump within the series. Nothing in the available report establishes the exact location, photographer, caption or original social-media source for the photograph, so those details should not be inferred from the image alone.

The nostalgia also comes from the contrast between the characters. Paige is closely connected to Sheldon’s academic world, while Missy’s relationship with Paige develops through the more personal and social side of their lives. Together, the characters offered a small but meaningful story about two young people finding common ground despite being connected to Sheldon in very different ways.
Missy and Paige’s Young Sheldon connection
Young Sheldon follows Sheldon’s childhood in East Texas and serves as a prequel to The Big Bang Theory. Missy is part of Sheldon’s immediate family, while Paige enters the story as a gifted student who can compete with him academically.

As the series develops, Paige and Missy become friends. Their connection helps broaden Paige beyond the role of Sheldon’s rival and gives Missy a storyline that is not entirely defined by her twin brother. The series also links the two through later shared material, including a road-trip storyline, although the available reporting does not provide enough consistent episode detail to establish a complete chronology here.
That is why the reunion image carried more meaning for viewers than a random cast photograph. It recalled a specific relationship from the show: Paige, the fellow prodigy who could meet Sheldon on his own intellectual terms, and Missy, the sibling who connected with Paige on a more personal level.

No. There is no evidence that the photo announced a Missy & Paige spinoff, a new joint project, a reunion episode or a confirmed return by Grace as Paige. The image should be treated as a reunion of Revord and Grace, not as a production announcement involving their characters.
It also should not be confused with a new Young Sheldon episode. The report’s “all grown-up” framing describes how the actors appeared compared with their early years on the series; it does not indicate that the show had moved the characters into adulthood.
Where Missy appears after Young Sheldon
The broader franchise continued with Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, the sequel series set in the same television universe. CBS’s official episode information confirms that Raegan Revord returned as Missy in a season-two episode, showing that Revord remained connected to the franchise after Young Sheldon.
That later appearance is separate from the 2022 photo. The available evidence does not show that the reunion with Grace led to Revord’s return, nor does it establish that Grace appeared in the same episode as Paige. The two facts can be appreciated as part of the franchise’s continuing history without treating one as the cause of the other.

How to revisit Missy and Paige’s story
For viewers whose interest in the photo turns into a rewatch, the most complete physical option is the Young Sheldon: The Complete Series DVD. The seven-season set was released by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on September 24, 2024, and allows fans to revisit the show’s full run—including the Missy and Paige storylines—instead of searching for individual episodes.
Those starting at the beginning can also look for the Young Sheldon Season 1 DVD, which was released on September 4, 2018. A first-season set is a narrower option, while the complete-series release better suits viewers revisiting the entire Cooper family story and Paige’s place in Sheldon’s orbit.
The lasting appeal of the image
Revord and Grace’s reunion resonated because it joined two kinds of nostalgia. It brought back the fictional friendship between Missy and Paige, while also showing the real passage of time for the actors who portrayed them.
There was no confirmed spinoff or hidden franchise announcement behind the moment. The photo’s appeal came from recognition: fans remembered two young characters from Young Sheldon, then saw the performers together again years after audiences first met them.
