The Reba cast has reunited—but not for a confirmed revival. Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman now lead NBC’s Happy’s Place, while Christopher Rich, JoAnna Garcia Swisher, and Steve Howey have appeared as guests. The rest of the ensemble followed distinct paths after the six-season sitcom ended in 2007.
The short answer: the cast of Reba did not reunite for a confirmed revival, but several of its best-known actors have returned to the same television orbit. Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman now lead NBC’s separate sitcom Happy’s Place, while Christopher Rich, JoAnna Garcia Swisher, and Steve Howey have appeared as guest stars. Away from that reunion, the original cast’s careers have taken very different paths: McEntire remains a country-music, television, and business powerhouse; Garcia Swisher and Howey built long-running acting careers; and Scarlett Pomers and Mitch Holleman have maintained much lower public profiles.

Reba ran for six seasons, from 2001 through 2007. It began on The WB and concluded on The CW, following Reba Hart as she adjusted to divorce, blended-family complications, and the unexpected arrival of her former husband’s new wife, Barbra Jean. The principal ensemble included Reba McEntire, Christopher Rich, Melissa Peterman, JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Steve Howey, Scarlett Pomers, and Mitch Holleman.
Reba McEntire: Reba Hart
Reba McEntire has remained the most visible member of the cast—and not merely because the sitcom still carries her name. She continues to work across country music, television, live entertainment, and hospitality.

Her most important current television role is Bobbie in NBC’s Happy’s Place. The comedy reunited McEntire with Melissa Peterman, who plays Gabby. NBC has renewed the series for the 2026–27 season, so this is an ongoing lead role rather than a one-time nostalgia project.
McEntire has also continued releasing and revisiting music. Her official career activity includes the January 2026 30th-anniversary reissue of Starting Over, the music capsule One Night in Tulsa, released April 17, 2026, and Hurt Like That, released May 22, 2026. She remains active as a live performer as well, with touring and special-event activity continuing alongside her screen work.
Her business interests have expanded beyond recording and acting. Reba’s Place in Atoka, Oklahoma, combines a restaurant, bar, live-entertainment venue, and retail space. It has also hosted special performances, including an event listed for April 9, 2026. In other words, McEntire’s post-Reba story is less about retirement from entertainment than about building a broader entertainment brand around music, television, food, and live experiences.
Melissa Peterman: Barbra Jean Hart
Melissa Peterman remains closely associated with McEntire, but she did not simply disappear after playing the relentlessly cheerful Barbra Jean. After Reba, Peterman continued working in television and became especially familiar to sitcom audiences through the ABC Family/Freeform comedy Baby Daddy, along with recurring and guest roles in other series.
Her most significant current credit is Gabby on Happy’s Place. The role puts Peterman back in a regular sitcom opposite McEntire, creating the clearest professional continuation of the original Reba cast relationship. The show’s renewal for the 2026–27 season confirms that the reunion is an active television partnership, not just a promotional appearance.
Rank #2
Christopher Rich: Brock Hart
Christopher Rich continued acting after Reba, with later appearances including Boston Legal, Desperate Housewives, and Melissa & Joey. His more recent connection to the sitcom came through a guest appearance on Happy’s Place.
That return has particular significance because contemporary coverage reported that Rich suffered a stroke in 2018 and subsequently spent substantial time away from public acting. McEntire and Peterman were reported to have encouraged him to return to television. The responsible summary is that Rich made a selective, meaningful return to screen work—not that he has resumed the high-volume acting schedule he maintained during earlier periods of his career.
JoAnna Garcia Swisher: Cheyenne Hart-Montgomery
JoAnna Garcia Swisher has developed one of the ensemble’s most durable television careers. After playing Reba’s teenage daughter, Cheyenne, she took on roles in series including Privileged, The Astronaut Wives Club, and Once Upon a Time.

The series follows three lifelong friends in Serenity, South Carolina, and has established Garcia Swisher as a continuing television lead rather than a former sitcom actor known only for one early role.
Garcia Swisher also appeared as a guest on Happy’s Place, extending the show’s pattern of bringing former Reba actors into McEntire and Peterman’s new comedy. Outside acting, she has been associated with lifestyle and family-oriented projects, including The Happy Place, and she and her husband, former professional baseball player Nick Swisher, have been involved with the Swisher Family Foundation. Those activities are secondary to her acting career, but they help explain why her public work extends beyond scripted television.
Rank #3
Steve Howey: Van Montgomery
Steve Howey made one of the biggest post-Reba career leaps in the ensemble. As Van Montgomery, he played Cheyenne’s enthusiastic, often immature husband. He later became widely known for playing Kevin Ball on Shameless, a role that placed him in a much darker and more adult ensemble drama.
His other film and television work includes Bride Wars, Day Shift, Game Over, Man!, and television appearances connected with New Girl. Netflix’s coverage of Ransom Canyon identifies Howey as a Reba alumnus and reports that he plays Levi in the show’s second season.
Howey also appeared on Happy’s Place. Like the appearances by Rich and Garcia Swisher, this is best described as a guest reunion—not proof that the entire original ensemble has returned as a regular cast.
Scarlett Pomers: Kyra Hart
Scarlett Pomers, who played Reba’s sharp and observant daughter Kyra, moved away from regular mainstream acting after her Reba years. She has been associated with music and other creative pursuits, including photography and jewelry design, while maintaining a lower public profile than McEntire, Garcia Swisher, or Howey.
There is evidence of music released under the name Scarlett. Apple Music lists Girl from the Past as a May 16, 2025 release, along with other singles and collaborations. However, a music-platform listing does not independently establish every biographical detail connecting that artist name to the former Reba actor. The careful wording is that Pomers has pursued music-related and creative work, and that music has been released under the name Scarlett.

There is not sufficiently substantiated evidence in the current reporting of a major 2025–26 acting comeback. It is also not accurate to declare that she has permanently retired, to assign her a private occupation, or to speculate about her personal life based on her reduced visibility.

Mitch Holleman played Jake Hart, the youngest member of Reba’s family. He continued to receive acting credits after the sitcom, including appearances in The Hangover and Bus Driver, along with other screen work.
Compared with the other principal cast members, Holleman has maintained a much lower public profile. The available current record does not establish a major 2025–26 television or film project comparable to McEntire’s, Garcia Swisher’s, or Howey’s. That limitation is worth stating plainly: reliable public information about his present activities is sparse, and there is no sound basis for filling the gap with guesses about his employment or personal life.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which Reba cast members appeared on Happy’s Place?
Happy’s Place is the main reunion story, but it is not a Reba reboot. McEntire and Peterman are the regular stars of the NBC sitcom, with McEntire playing Bobbie and Peterman playing Gabby. Christopher Rich, JoAnna Garcia Swisher, and Steve Howey have appeared in guest roles, allowing viewers to see several former co-stars reunite without recreating the original series.
That distinction matters. The available evidence supports describing the appearances as individual guest reunions. It does not support saying that every original cast member has appeared on the show, nor does it confirm a new Reba revival. Cast members have expressed interest in returning to the world of Reba in earlier interviews, but no fully confirmed original-cast reboot was established in the current research.

Fans who want to revisit the original six-season sitcom can look for the Reba complete series DVD. A physical set is useful for viewers who want the original ensemble in order rather than only the newer reunion sitcom. Availability and retailer inventory can change, so check the current listing before buying. Viewers primarily interested in the new McEntire-Peterman partnership can also look for Happy’s Place Season One on DVD, although that is a secondary option rather than a replacement for the original series.
The cast’s careers, at a glance
| Actor | Reba character | Where the current story leads |
|---|---|---|
| Reba McEntire | Reba Hart | Leads Happy’s Place, continues recording and touring, and operates Reba’s Place. |
| Melissa Peterman | Barbra Jean Hart | Plays Gabby on Happy’s Place and remains McEntire’s sitcom co-star. |
| Christopher Rich | Brock Hart | Continued acting and made a selective return through Happy’s Place. |
| JoAnna Garcia Swisher | Cheyenne Hart-Montgomery | Stars as Maddie in Sweet Magnolias and appeared on Happy’s Place. |
| Steve Howey | Van Montgomery | Built a major post-Reba résumé through Shameless and later film and television work. |
| Scarlett Pomers | Kyra Hart | Moved away from regular acting and has been associated with music and creative work. |
| Mitch Holleman | Jake Hart | Has later acting credits but little reliable current public information. |
The cast of Reba therefore did not follow one shared career path. McEntire and Peterman returned to a regular sitcom together, several co-stars made welcome guest appearances, and others pursued different levels of screen and creative work. The result is a genuine reunion—but one happening inside a new show, not a confirmed return of the original Reba series.
