Here is an editorial ranking of the lines and exchanges that best capture the film’s personality.
Deadpool & Wolverine is at its funniest when it lets Wade Wilson collide with Logan’s exhaustion, Marvel’s cinematic history, and the audience’s expectations. This is an editorial ranking—not an official list from Marvel or the filmmakers—but these ten selections best represent the movie’s blend of fourth-wall jokes, celebrity cameos, sharp insults, and surprisingly effective character contrast.
Spoiler warning: The entries below discuss cameos, major jokes, the Wolverine variants, the fight between Wade and Logan, and the film’s ending.
1. “Fox killed him. Disney brought him back.” — Deadpool
This is arguably the film’s clearest expression of its corporate and continuity humor. Deadpool turns the history of the X-Men movies into a punchline, treating the transition from 20th Century Fox’s superhero universe to Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of the story itself.

The line works especially well as an opening choice because it tells viewers exactly what kind of superhero movie they are watching. Nothing is too sacred—not a character’s death, not a studio merger, and not the complicated relationship between older Marvel franchises and the MCU.
2. “Welcome to the MCU, by the way.” — Deadpool
Deadpool delivers this greeting when Logan enters the movie’s larger Marvel reality. It sounds like a casual welcome, but the joke depends on the enormous cultural transition behind it: Wolverine is being pulled out of the world associated with Fox’s X-Men films and into a new chapter of Marvel continuity.
It is also an onboarding joke aimed directly at the audience. Logan may be confused by the situation, but Deadpool understands that viewers are watching a long-awaited crossover and wants to acknowledge the occasion.
3. “Paul Rudd finally aged.” — Deadpool
This compact cameo joke turns a familiar piece of pop-culture trivia into a one-line sight gag. Paul Rudd’s reputation for seeming impossibly youthful does most of the setup, allowing Deadpool to convert the appearance into an observation about time, aging, and celebrity image.
It is a particularly efficient example of the film’s humor: the joke is brief, recognizable, and aimed at the performer as much as the character. Deadpool does not need a long explanation because the audience already knows the reference.
4. The bone-counting and Gossip Girl joke — Deadpool
One of Deadpool’s most characteristic comic moves is to begin with something grimly factual and then veer into an entirely unexpected pop-culture reference. The sequence starts with the statement, “There are 206 bones in the human body,” before turning toward an allusion to Gossip Girl.
The contrast is the point. Anatomy, violence, sexual humor, and a television reference occupy the same breath, creating the kind of tonal whiplash that defines Wade’s dialogue. It is less a conventional punchline than a demonstration of how quickly Deadpool’s mind changes lanes.
5. “I’m gonna fight you now.” — Deadpool
After Logan unloads an unusually sustained verbal attack on Wade, Deadpool responds with this remarkably restrained announcement. For a character who usually fills every silence with jokes, the simplicity is what makes it funny.

The line is a release of pressure. Deadpool has been talked at, insulted, and pushed beyond his usual ability to deflect with humor. Instead of answering with another elaborate reference, he accepts the obvious next step: a fight. The immediate physical confrontation makes the understatement land even harder.
6. The interrupted “Avengers assemble” setup — Deadpool
Deadpool begins to invoke the famous superhero rallying cry “Avengers, assemble,” prompting the audience to anticipate the expected battle cry. Before he can complete the moment, Johnny Storm interrupts with “Flame on!”

The gag works because it combines two separate traditions of superhero catchphrases. The audience recognizes the setup, expects one payoff, and receives another. It also captures the movie’s approach to legacy characters: their iconic moments are not erased, but they are cheerfully interrupted and repurposed.
7. “Who is your dialect coach? The Minions?” — Deadpool to Gambit
Deadpool’s exchange with Gambit turns the character’s stylized Cajun accent into the target of a quick comparison with the animated Minions. The line is funny because it does not merely insult Gambit; it comments on the performance conventions audiences associate with the character.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThat makes it a quintessential Deadpool joke. Wade is always willing to attack the fictional world, the actors’ performances, or the audience’s understanding of both. Gambit’s larger-than-life presentation gives Deadpool plenty of material, and the Minions reference provides an intentionally absurd comparison.
8. The Canada comeback — Deadpool
After Logan’s Canadian identity becomes the subject of an insult, Wade fires back: “Get my country’s name out of your mouth.”
The humor comes from the exaggerated seriousness of the response. Wade treats a jab about Canada as though it were a national emergency, turning a familiar rivalry between the characters into mock patriotism. It also highlights how quickly the pair’s arguments escalate: a personal insult becomes a dispute between entire countries in a single sentence.

9. The Nicepool regeneration exchange — Deadpool and Logan
The Nicepool sequence is a particularly dark example of the movie’s willingness to mix a character’s vulnerability with slapstick. Deadpool denies responsibility for Nicepool’s injury and then asks how long regeneration takes, while Nicepool’s confused reply supplies the punchline.

The exchange lands because the audience understands the grim implication before the scene fully spells it out. Nicepool’s pleasant, naïve presentation makes the situation even more uncomfortable, while Deadpool’s refusal to behave appropriately turns that discomfort into black comedy.
10. “Got you, fuckface.” — Deadpool
This short line arrives after Wade shuts down Paradox’s TemPad and helps resolve the immediate crisis. It is a fitting final selection because Deadpool cannot resist one last insult even at a moment when the plot is moving toward closure.
“Got you, fuckface” is not an elaborate fourth-wall speech or a complicated reference. It is simply a concise Deadpool button: victory, defiance, and profanity compressed into four words. After all the multiverse mechanics and emotional conflict, the film gets the last laugh by letting Wade sound exactly like himself.

The best lines in Deadpool & Wolverine are not all funny for the same reason. Some target studio history and MCU continuity. Others depend on cameos, celebrity associations, or the audience’s familiarity with superhero catchphrases. The strongest character-based jokes come from the contrast between Wade’s nonstop verbal performance and Logan’s blunt, haunted silence.

That contrast is central to the movie’s premise. Marvel’s official setup describes Wade being pulled back into action when his homeworld faces an existential threat, forcing him to persuade a reluctant Wolverine to help. The comedy grows out of the mismatch: Deadpool wants to narrate, explain, mock, and celebrate the moment, while Logan would generally prefer to be left alone.
Honorable mention: the van confrontation
For viewers who prefer the film’s more emotional material, the extended van confrontation deserves special attention. Logan’s speech to Wade is much longer than the excerpts above, so it is better summarized than reproduced as a block of dialogue. The scene gives Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine room to express the anger, shame, and exhaustion beneath his usual silence.
That sequence matters because it shows why the pairing works beyond the jokes. Wade’s comedy is often a defense mechanism; Logan’s hostility is another kind of armor. Their verbal clash eventually creates space for the film’s more sincere ideas about legacy, failure, and what it means for Wolverine to matter again.

Where to rewatch Deadpool & Wolverine
If these lines have you ready for another viewing, the Deadpool & Wolverine 4K UHD edition is the most direct physical-media option. Marvel announced 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD editions, including a Cinematic Universe Edition and character-themed SteelBook packaging, for October 22, 2024. Availability, price, and regional editions can change, so check the current retailer listing before buying.
More Wade-and-Logan reading
For a story that is related to the characters but is not an adaptation of the movie, Marvel’s Deadpool & Wolverine: WWIII trade paperback is a natural follow-up. It is best understood as adjacent comic-book reading rather than a continuation of the film’s plot.
The Bottom Line
The best quote in Deadpool & Wolverine depends on what you want from the movie: the Fox-and-Disney line captures its meta premise, “I’m gonna fight you now” captures its Wade-and-Logan chemistry, and “Got you, fuckface” provides the perfect irreverent closing button.
