Prince William confirmed that Catherine, Princess of Wales, is in remission and said that King Charles III is also making progress. He made the comments during an interview with Eugene Levy for Apple TV’s The Reluctant Traveler, released October 3, 2025. The update is encouraging but deliberately limited: it does not reveal either royal’s cancer type, stage, prognosis, or complete treatment status.
Prince William offered a rare public update on the health of Catherine, Princess of Wales, and King Charles III during an interview with Eugene Levy for Apple TV’s The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy. The episode, filmed at Windsor Castle and released on October 3, 2025, presented the most direct family-level update William had given on both royals’ cancer treatment.
Asked how Catherine and the King were doing, William said that things were good and that “everything” was progressing in the right direction. When Levy specifically asked whether Catherine was in remission, William confirmed that she was.

What Prince William said about Catherine
William’s confirmation that Catherine was in remission was the clearest part of the exchange. It was consistent with Catherine’s own January 2025 announcement that she was in remission after cancer treatment at The Royal Marsden.
“Remission” is the most precise publicly documented description. It does not necessarily mean that doctors have declared a person permanently free of cancer, and it does not provide a public prognosis. For that reason, the available evidence does not support replacing “in remission” with “cancer-free.”
Catherine has not publicly disclosed the type or stage of cancer found after her abdominal surgery. Detailed information about her chemotherapy, follow-up care, and long-term medical outlook also remains private.

What William said about King Charles
William’s remarks about his father were less specific than his confirmation of Catherine’s remission. He said that things were good and that progress was moving in the right direction, but he did not announce that Charles was cured, in remission, or finished with treatment.
Buckingham Palace announced in February 2024 that diagnostic testing conducted after a procedure for benign prostate enlargement had identified a form of cancer. The Palace said Charles would receive regular treatment and would temporarily postpone public-facing duties while continuing state business and official paperwork. The specific cancer type was not disclosed in that statement.
A later official update came in December 2025, when Charles wrote in support of Stand Up To Cancer. He said that early diagnosis, effective intervention, and following medical advice had allowed his treatment schedule to be reduced in the New Year. That is a significant statement about treatment progress, but it is not the same as saying treatment had ended or that the King had been cured.
William’s October interview came before that December statement. The two accounts are broadly consistent in describing progress, but they should not be merged into a more definite medical claim than either source makes.

As of August 13, 2026, official records show both Catherine and Charles continuing to appear in public. The Court Circular records Catherine undertaking engagements in Wales in February 2026, along with other public duties around that period.
In June 2026, Charles and Queen Camilla hosted a Cancer Research UK reception attended by Catherine and other senior royals. The event brought together researchers, clinicians, volunteers, and partners working in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
Those appearances show continued participation in official work, including cancer-related public engagement. They should not be treated as medical tests or as new confirmation of remission beyond the statements made by the royals and the Palace.
Separate reporting in May 2026 described William praising Catherine’s progress and resilience during a radio appearance. Because that account is a secondary report rather than a full official transcript among the sources reviewed, it is best understood as an attributed comment—not as a new clinical assessment.
