“Chapter 257 just got leaked” is an ambiguous headline. It most likely refers to Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 257 and its April 18, 2024 pre-release spoiler discussion, but it can also refer to Sakamoto Days Chapter 257. Both chapters have since been officially published, so neither should be described as newly leaked without a specific current source.
“Chapter 257 just got leaked” does not identify one specific manga. The headline most likely refers to Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 257, whose pre-release spoiler discussion circulated on April 18, 2024. However, it can also refer to Sakamoto Days Chapter 257, which was officially listed by VIZ for April 26, 2026.
In either case, “just got leaked” is now outdated wording. By the current research date of August 12, 2026, both chapters have been officially published. Readers should use the official chapter listings rather than unauthorized scans or unverified translations.
Which series does Chapter 257 refer to?
| Possible series | What the evidence shows | Current status |
|---|---|---|
| Jujutsu Kaisen | The strongest match for the original leak-era headline. A pre-release discussion thread dated April 18, 2024 was explicitly dedicated to Chapter 257 spoilers. | Officially published; Chapter 257 is collected in Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 29. |
| Sakamoto Days | A genuine alternative match. VIZ lists Chapter 257 with an April 26, 2026 publication date. | Officially published; later chapters were already listed by July 2026. |
Most likely: Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 257
The phrase appears to have originated, or at least gained significant attention, in the April 18, 2024 Jujutsu Kaisen pre-release leaks discussion. That thread warned readers to keep leaked material inside the spoiler thread and pointed readers toward official English publication through VIZ and Manga Plus.

Leak-era discussion around the chapter included major claims about Yuji Itadori, Sukuna, Kenjaku, multiple Black Flash sequences, and Yuji’s developing abilities. Those reports should be treated as spoiler commentary from an unreleased chapter, not as a definitive account of the story. Early translations were corrected during the discussion, which is one reason leaked summaries can differ from the official chapter.
For the authoritative version, use the official Jujutsu Kaisen chapter index at VIZ. The official release is the appropriate reference for wording, translations, page order, and canon status.

The headline may instead refer to Sakamoto Days. VIZ’s official page identifies Chapter 257 and gives it an April 26, 2026 publication date. The VIZ chapter page is the best source for its release status and authorized access.
A contemporary spoiler report called the chapter “Genius” and discussed the Seba brothers’ conflict along with an unexpected return by Tenkyu. That information comes from a secondary spoiler source, so it should not outrank the official chapter for exact dialogue, translations, or plot details. The report is useful mainly because it confirms why someone searching for “Chapter 257 leak” might be referring to Sakamoto Days.
Readers looking for the physical series can browse Sakamoto Days manga volumes. No specific collected volume should be named for Chapter 257 without a primary publisher listing confirming the mapping.
How to tell which leak a post means
- Check the series name. “Chapter 257” by itself is not enough. Look for Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji, Sukuna, Kenjaku, or Black Flash references; those indicate the 2024 Jujutsu Kaisen discussion. Seba brothers, Tenkyu, or the title “Genius” point toward Sakamoto Days.
- Check the date of the post. A post from April 2024 is likely discussing Jujutsu Kaisen. A post from April 2026 may concern Sakamoto Days.
- Check whether it says “leak,” “spoiler,” or “official release.” A social-media post may recycle an old leak and present it as new. The wording alone does not establish when the material first appeared.
- Verify against the official chapter index. VIZ’s listings are preferable for publication status and authorized reading. Do not treat screenshots, fan translations, or reposted summaries as the final text.
Should you read the leaked version?
No unauthorized scan is necessary now. Both possible Chapter 257 references have official publication paths, so the safer and more reliable option is to read the chapter through an authorized manga service or purchase the relevant collected edition.

There are practical reasons to avoid relying on leaks:
- Translations may change. Leak threads can contain hurried, incomplete, or corrected translations.
- Context may be missing. Cropped pages and isolated panels can make a plot development appear more definitive than it is.
- Release timing varies by region. A post can be “new” to one audience while describing a chapter that has been available elsewhere for months or years.
- Official chapters preserve the intended reading experience. They provide the complete sequence, credited translation, and publisher-approved presentation.
Bottom line
If you saw the headline during the original 2024 spoiler cycle, it most likely meant Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 257. That chapter is officially collected in Volume 29. If the post is dated in 2026 or mentions the Seba brothers and Tenkyu, it may instead concern Sakamoto Days Chapter 257. Neither should be described as newly leaked without a specific, genuinely current source.
