A wide range of careers
The cast was not defined by a single professional background. It included educators and school administrators, health and wellness workers, real-estate professionals, corporate and financial-services specialists, a dental hygienist, a salon owner, a public-affairs consultant, a fitness instructor, and a wedding officiant. That range supported ABC’s effort to frame the series around people with substantial personal and professional histories rather than treating later-life dating as a single experience.
The ages ran from 60 to 75
The youngest listed contestants were 60: Edith, Faith, Joan, Maria, Marina, Nancy, and Natascha. Pamela and Sandra, both listed at 75, were the oldest members of the original group. Gerry Turner was announced as 71 when ABC introduced him as the lead.

- Renee was a former Chicago Honey Bear cheerleader and an author of two books.
- Susan combined wedding officiating with hair-and-makeup work, a particularly relevant background for someone entering a romance-focused reality show.
