What makes this Mini tricky?
This Saturday puzzle combines several answer types in a small grid. AYN is the author Ayn Rand’s first name, while CIO is the abbreviation for chief information officer. HUB describes an airport such as ATL or LAX in Delta’s route network, and KAHUNAS uses a Hawaiian-derived expression for people in charge.
There is also a spelling clue: “licence” and “favour” point to BRITISH usage. The final down clue is a compact bit of wordplay: a large-toothed object can be a SAW. On the Across side, KACHING imitates the sound associated with a cash register, and TUT refers to Tutankhamun, Egypt’s famous “boy king.”

Want more crossword practice?
If you enjoy the Mini but want additional puzzles away from the app, a crossword puzzle book can provide extra practice in a similar format. Treat it as a supplemental or alternative activity: a general crossword book is not the March 29 NYT Mini and should not be confused with an official New York Times product. Large-print editions may also be useful for readers who prefer paper solving or easier-to-read grids. [c007]
