What is Happy Gilmore 2 about?
Happy Gilmore 2 is the Netflix sequel to Adam Sandler’s 1996 golf comedy Happy Gilmore. Sandler returns as Happy Gilmore, the hockey-playing golfer whose unconventional swing and temper made the original film a comedy favorite.
If you have not seen the first movie, watching the 1996 Happy Gilmore before the sequel can provide useful character and story context. The original is separate from the sequel: it is not the film that premiered on Netflix on July 25, 2025, and its availability depends on the services and physical-media retailers in your region.
