The Notre Dame–Texas A&M football game was played on September 13, 2025—not in 2026. The original broadcast was available on NBC and Peacock, with coverage beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET and kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET. As of August 12, 2026, there is no live game to watch, and Notre Dame is not on Texas A&M’s official 2026 football schedule.
If you were looking for the legitimate free viewing method for the original broadcast, it was an over-the-air digital antenna receiving a local NBC affiliate. NBC’s website and app were not free, unrestricted streams: online viewing required authentication through a participating television provider.
The short answer
You could watch the original Notre Dame vs. Texas A&M broadcast without a monthly pay-TV subscription if you were in range of a local NBC station and used a digital TV antenna. That received the NBC broadcast over the air; it did not provide an internet stream or access to Peacock.
The official online streaming option was Peacock’s Notre Dame–Texas A&M event listing. NBC also carried the game online, but NBC’s live stream required a login from a participating TV provider. Peacock’s current sports plans are paid unless a specific promotion or trial is visibly available and valid when you sign up.

The matchup was played on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend. NBC Sports announced a 7:30 p.m. Eastern kickoff, with pregame coverage starting at 7:00 p.m. ET. The teams were ranked No. 8 Notre Dame and No. 16 Texas A&M for the broadcast.

This is therefore not an upcoming 2026 game. Texas A&M’s official 2026 schedule lists Missouri State, Arizona State, Kentucky, LSU, Arkansas, Missouri, The Citadel, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Texas; Notre Dame is not listed.
How the original broadcast was available
| Method | What it offered | Was it free? |
|---|---|---|
| Local NBC station with an antenna | Live over-the-air NBC broadcast | Yes, after obtaining compatible equipment; reception was location-dependent |
| NBC website or app | Online stream of the local NBC station | No unrestricted free access; a participating TV-provider login was required |
| Peacock | Official internet stream and event listing | Normally requires an eligible paid plan or a currently valid promotion |
| Unofficial stream, mirror, torrent, or social-media restream | Unauthorized copy or retransmission | Not a legitimate viewing option |
Free option: use an antenna for the local NBC broadcast
The most defensible no-monthly-pay-TV option was receiving the local NBC affiliate over the air. The FCC explains that viewers can receive free broadcast television with an antenna and a digital television. This is different from streaming the game online: the antenna picks up the station’s local broadcast signal.
An optional digital TV antenna can be useful if you want local NBC and other broadcast channels without subscribing to cable, satellite, or a live-TV streaming package. Before buying one, check whether an NBC affiliate serves your area and consider your distance from the transmitters, indoor obstructions, building materials, terrain, and antenna placement. No antenna can guarantee NBC reception in every location.
After connecting the antenna, select your television’s channel-scan or auto-tune function and rescan for local stations. The FCC notes that viewers may need to rescan after stations change frequencies. An outdoor or attic antenna may perform better than an indoor model in difficult reception environments.
What if you have an older television?
Modern digital televisions can generally connect directly to an antenna. An older analog television may need a compatible digital-to-analog converter box between the antenna and the TV. This is a narrow compatibility solution, not a way to stream Peacock or bypass any online subscription requirement.
Why NBC’s website was not a free stream for everyone
NBC’s sites and apps may be free to download or use, but that does not mean every live NBC program is available without authentication. According to NBC’s help information, live streaming requires authorization from a participating TV provider. The NBC website or app uses your location to identify the local NBC station, and online access may then require you to sign in with an eligible provider account.
In practical terms, having internet service alone was not enough. A viewer needed a qualifying television subscription or another authorized login. The free over-the-air antenna route and the authenticated NBC internet stream were separate methods.

NBC Sports designated Peacock as an official streaming platform for the game, and Peacock maintains an event page for Texas A&M vs. Notre Dame. The page describes the program as a four-hour football event, but an event listing by itself does not prove that the completed game is currently playable for free or even available to every account.
Peacock’s plan page currently lists:
- Select: $7.99 per month, listed as excluding sports.
- Premium: $10.99 per month, listed as including live sports and events.
- Premium Plus: $16.99 per month.
These prices and plan terms can change, so verify them on Peacock’s current plans page before subscribing. The relevant plan for live sports was Premium or another plan explicitly identified by Peacock as including the event.
Can you use a free Peacock trial?
Do not assume that Peacock offers a free trial. Peacock’s terms allow limited trials and promotions at the company’s discretion. An offer may require a payment method and may automatically convert to a paid subscription unless canceled according to its terms.
A free trial or promotional offer can be mentioned only if it is visibly available to you at the time of registration. Read the renewal date, price after the promotional period, cancellation requirements, and eligibility restrictions before accepting it.

That is a discounted paid offer—not universal free access—and its eligibility and price should be confirmed before relying on it.
Can you still watch the completed game?
Possibly, but availability is account- and date-dependent. The official Peacock listing is the appropriate place to check, but the listing alone does not establish that a full replay is currently playable for non-subscribers. Look for an active play button and review any sign-in or subscription message before assuming the replay is free.
If Peacock no longer offers the replay, check NBC Sports’ official video and replay inventory rather than relying on search-result claims or unofficial uploads. Rights to completed games can expire, move between services, or be restricted by account, location, or subscription status.

Sites promising a free Notre Dame–Texas A&M stream through a changing collection of mirror links are not equivalent to NBC, Peacock, or an authorized local broadcast. Avoid pages that ask you to install an unfamiliar player, browser extension, “codec,” or executable file; disable security protections; enter payment details for a supposedly free stream; or complete repeated surveys before revealing a video.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Unauthorized social-media restreams, torrents, and mirror sites can disappear during the game, expose viewers to malware or aggressive advertising, and raise copyright concerns. A VPN does not turn an unauthorized stream into a legitimate one, and it does not remove NBC or Peacock authentication requirements.
Best method by situation
- You wanted the live broadcast without pay TV: use a digital antenna, provided a local NBC affiliate is receivable at your location.
- You already had an eligible TV subscription: authenticate through NBC’s website or app, subject to the provider and location rules.
- You preferred internet streaming: use Peacock with a plan that explicitly includes the relevant sports content.
- You are trying to watch the completed game in 2026: check the official Peacock listing and authorized NBC Sports replay pages; do not assume the replay is free or still available.
- You are looking for a 2026 Notre Dame–Texas A&M matchup: there is no such game on Texas A&M’s official 2026 schedule.

A digital antenna receiving a local NBC affiliate was the broadly applicable no-monthly-pay-TV option. Reception depended on the viewer’s location and signal conditions.

The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Notre Dame vs. Texas A&M was a September 13, 2025 game, not a 2026 live event. The legitimate free route for the original broadcast was a digital antenna receiving local NBC service. NBC’s online stream required a participating TV-provider login, while Peacock was the official internet option and generally required an eligible paid plan unless a current promotion applied. For a replay, check the official Peacock listing or NBC Sports inventory and verify actual playback access before assuming it is free.
