Claire Danes as Aggie Wiggs
Claire Danes plays Aggie Wiggs, a Pulitzer Prize-winning memoirist living in Oyster Bay, New York. Aggie has withdrawn from public life following the death of her young son, Cooper, in a car accident. The loss has left her struggling with severe writer’s block, and her professional identity has become inseparable from the grief she cannot resolve.

Nile Jarvis’s arrival next door gives Aggie a possible way back into writing. His wealth, charm and connection to the unexplained disappearance of his first wife offer the subject of a new book—but investigating him also draws Aggie into a dangerous psychological contest. On the surface, she is analytical and controlled. Beneath that control, the series presents a woman driven by more instinctive and emotionally volatile impulses.
Danes is best known to television audiences for playing CIA officer Carrie Mathison across eight seasons of Homeland, a performance that brought her a Golden Globe and multiple Emmy nominations. The Beast in Me also reunites her with Howard Gordon, who worked on Homeland and serves as showrunner, writer and executive producer on this series.
Matthew Rhys as Nile Jarvis
Matthew Rhys plays Nile Jarvis, the intelligent, funny and impulsive heir to New York real-estate magnate Martin Jarvis. Nile appears to be an appealing new neighbor, but his past makes him impossible for Aggie—and the authorities—to regard as ordinary.
Nile’s first wife, Madison, disappeared in 2019. Although he was never arrested, public suspicion has remained attached to him. The series builds its central tension around an unresolved question: is Nile a dangerous killer, a misunderstood man, or someone capable of being both depending on what the evidence reveals?
Rhys previously earned wide recognition for playing Philip Jennings in the spy drama The Americans, which ran for six seasons from 2013 to 2018. That performance brought him Emmy and Golden Globe recognition. In The Beast in Me, he uses a similarly layered screen presence for a character whose warmth and menace are deliberately difficult to separate.
Brittany Snow as Nina Jarvis
Brittany Snow plays Nina Jarvis, Nile’s second wife. Nina is an Ivy League-educated gallerist in New York who grew up in a working-class town in New Jersey. She is polished, attractive, warm and ambitious, but the character also has a pronounced survival instinct.
Nina is not simply positioned as “the suspect’s wife.” Her marriage places her close to Nile’s secrets and the Jarvis family’s power, while her own ambitions and judgment give her an independent role in the story. She must navigate a family business empire, a husband surrounded by suspicion and an outsider—Aggie—who is increasingly determined to find answers.
Snow is widely recognized for playing Chloe Beale in the Pitch Perfect films. Netflix’s cast material also references her appearance in The Hunting Wives.

Natalie Morales as Shelley
Natalie Morales plays Shelley, Aggie’s ex-wife. Shelley is an abstract painter who lives in an artist studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn. She and Aggie divorced after Cooper’s death, and the separation reflects the different ways the two women have responded to their loss.

Compared with Aggie, Shelley is portrayed as calmer and more emotionally composed. Her presence gives the series another perspective on Aggie’s grief and on the personal damage left behind by the tragedy.
David Lyons as FBI Agent Brian Abbott
David Lyons plays FBI Agent Brian Abbott, an investigator in the bureau’s financial-crimes division. Abbott previously led a task force examining the Jarvis family’s business, and Madison’s disappearance has become a personal professional obsession.
Abbott is determined to convict Nile. That certainty places him in an interesting relationship with Aggie, whose investigation is driven by both journalistic curiosity and personal fixation. The two may want similar answers, but they do not necessarily approach the case—or the people caught inside it—in the same way.

Hettienne Park as Agent Erika Breton
Hettienne Park plays Agent Erika Breton, Abbott’s colleague in the FBI’s financial-crimes division. Their relationship extends beyond the strictly professional, adding another layer to the investigative storyline.
Erika is part of the law-enforcement thread running alongside Aggie’s private investigation. Together, Abbott and Breton connect the mystery surrounding Madison to the larger questions about the Jarvis family’s finances and business operations.
Jonathan Banks as Martin Jarvis
Jonathan Banks plays Martin Jarvis, Nile’s father and a ruthless, self-made New York real-estate magnate. Netflix’s character guide associates Martin’s name with more than 16 million square feet of New York City real estate.
Martin is focused on preserving his legacy, and his influence helps explain the power surrounding Nile. The Jarvis family mystery is therefore not only about one missing woman or one suspicious heir; it is also connected to wealth, reputation, business interests and the family’s determination to protect its position.

Tim Guinee as Rick “Wrecking Ball” Jarvis
Tim Guinee plays Rick “Wrecking Ball” Jarvis, Nile’s uncle and Martin Jarvis’s younger brother. Rick also serves as Nile’s security detail.
Rank #3
Netflix describes Rick as intimidating, fiercely loyal and a convicted felon. He represents the more threatening physical edge of the Jarvis family’s power structure, in contrast with the polished public image associated with the family’s wealth and business empire.
Guinee has also appeared in the broader Homeland orbit alongside Claire Danes, one of several connections among the series’ cast and creative team.

Deirdre O’Connell as Carol McGiddish
Deirdre O’Connell plays Carol McGiddish, Aggie’s literary agent, longtime friend and trusted adviser. Carol supports Aggie as she deals with writer’s block, grief and the consequences of returning to a story that may put her in danger.
As Aggie’s professional representative, Carol also understands the pressure behind the proposed book. Aggie is not merely investigating Nile for personal reasons; she is trying to recover a career and a voice that seemed to disappear after Cooper’s death.

Aleyse Shannon plays Olivia Benitez, a city council member who opposes Nile’s business plans. Her character brings the Jarvis family’s real-estate ambitions into the civic and political sphere.
Will Brill as Chris Ingram

Brill won a Tony Award for Stereophonic, a recognition Netflix highlights in its cast material.
Kate Burton as Mariah Ingram
Kate Burton plays Mariah Ingram, Madison’s mother. She faces the painful question of whether to accept Nile’s explanation for Madison’s disappearance or continue looking for another account of what happened.
Bill Irwin as James Ingram
Bill Irwin plays James Ingram, Madison’s father and Mariah’s husband. Along with Mariah and Chris, he represents the family left behind by Madison’s disappearance.

Amir Arison as Frank Breton
Amir Arison plays Frank Breton, Erika Breton’s ex-husband. Arison is known for playing Aram Mojtabai on The Blacklist.
Bubba Weiler as Teddy Fenig

How the ensemble is organized
The cast is divided among three storylines that increasingly overlap:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Aggie’s grief and stalled career: Aggie, Shelley, Carol and Teddy are connected to Cooper’s death, Aggie’s divorce and the author’s attempt to write again.
- The Jarvis family and Madison’s disappearance: Nile, Nina, Martin, Rick and Lila represent the family, marriage and business interests surrounding the central suspect. Madison, Chris, Mariah and James provide the perspective of the family seeking answers.
- The FBI investigation: Abbott and Breton pursue the Jarvis family through the financial-crimes division, with Madison’s disappearance remaining a key part of Abbott’s case against Nile.
That structure is why the show’s cast is larger than a simple two-hander between a writer and her neighbor. Aggie’s investigation intersects with a missing-person case, a family power struggle, a real-estate empire and a law-enforcement inquiry. Each group has a different reason to doubt Nile’s story—or to challenge the conclusions being drawn about him.

Is there official merchandise?
No title-specific official merchandise or verified Amazon product is established by the available research. A third-party site advertises shirts, hoodies, mugs, phone cases, posters and pillows, but its authorization by Netflix and its Amazon availability were not verified. Netflix’s general merchandise-support information does not establish that those products are official The Beast in Me items.
For that reason, readers should treat any merchandise listing as unverified unless it is clearly offered through an authorized source. The series’ strongest confirmed destination is the official Netflix viewing service, not a physical-product marketplace.
