WWE SmackDown on June 6, 2025, was the final Friday-night show before Money in the Bank 2025. Broadcast from Dignity Health Arena in Bakersfield, California, the episode brought all 12 advertised Money in the Bank competitors into the same building, previewed both ladder matches and ended with John Cena and Logan Paul ambushing Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso.
It was less a championship-focused card than a storyline-acceleration episode: Seth Rollins tried to weaken his ladder-match opponents, Zelina Vega defended her position in the Women’s United States Championship picture, and the closing angle set up a major tag-team match for the following night.

Jimmy Uso defeated JC Mateo
Jimmy Uso won the opening match after interference involving Solo Sikoa and United States Champion Jacob Fatu. Sikoa distracted the referee, while Fatu climbed onto the apron and accidentally collided with JC Mateo. The opening gave Uso the opportunity to score the quick pinfall.
After the match, Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed confronted Sikoa, Fatu and Mateo. Uso then helped clear the opposing group from the ring. The confrontation immediately connected the opening match to the larger Money in the Bank story and the conflict surrounding Rollins’ faction.
Zelina Vega defeated Piper Niven in a Bakersfield Brawl
Zelina Vega defeated Piper Niven in a violent Bakersfield Brawl, a stipulation presented specifically for the event’s Bakersfield setting. The match could be won only by pinfall or submission and allowed the use of objects including kendo sticks, steel chairs, chains and tables.
Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre became involved during the match, but Giulia neutralized them. Giulia then struck Niven with a kendo stick, creating an opening for Vega. Vega ultimately powerbombed Niven from the ropes through a table and made the three-count.
The celebration did not last long. Giulia attacked Vega after the match, signaling that she had her sights on Vega and the Women’s United States Championship. In other words, the match served both as a weapons-based singles bout and as a launch point for a future title storyline.
LA Knight defeated Aleister Black by disqualification
LA Knight’s match with Aleister Black ended by disqualification rather than a conventional pinfall or submission. Seth Rollins attacked Knight with a Stomp, giving Knight the official victory by disqualification.
Rollins’ attack led to a larger assault. Black confronted Rollins afterward, but Bron Breakker hit Black with a Spear. Rollins, Breakker and Bronson Reed then attacked Knight, Penta and Andrade. The sequence reinforced Rollins’ strategy before the men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: injure or weaken as many opponents as possible before the match begins.
Because Knight won by disqualification, the result should not be described as a clean singles victory over Black. The official outcome was a disqualification win for Knight caused by Rollins’ interference.

Giulia was taken out during the chaotic contest. Naomi then refused to tag back into the match, leaving Roxanne Perez to face Ripley, Bliss and Vaquer by herself. Ripley secured the win for her team.
The result presented Ripley as a major threat going into her first Money in the Bank Ladder Match, while also keeping the tensions among the women’s participants prominent on the final show before the event.
Penta and Andrade defeated American Made
Penta and Andrade defeated American Made after El Hijo del Vikingo appeared from the crowd and stopped Chad Gable from interfering. Vikingo’s appearance also promoted the Worlds Collide match involving Vikingo and Gable scheduled for the following day.

After the bell, Rollins, Breakker and Reed attacked Penta and Andrade. Both men were scheduled to face Rollins in the men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match, making the post-match attack another deliberate attempt to damage Rollins’ opposition before the pay-per-view-style event.
Major promos and storyline segments
Seth Rollins promised domination—and acted on it
Seth Rollins promised domination alongside Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and Paul Heyman. The important part of the segment was what followed: Rollins did not leave the threat at the level of a promo.
His group attacked LA Knight, Penta and Andrade at different points during the night. Those attacks turned Rollins’ speech into an active strategy. With the Money in the Bank Ladder Match approaching, he was attempting to reduce the number of capable opponents before the bell rather than simply claiming that he would win.
Rhea Ripley confronted Tiffany Stratton
WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton was interrupted by Rhea Ripley as Ripley prepared for her first Money in the Bank Ladder Match. The segment framed Ripley as a championship-level threat even though the immediate prize in front of her was the briefcase.

John Cena and Logan Paul ambushed Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso
The show ended with Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena and Logan Paul attacking Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso. According to WWE’s account of the segment, Cena distracted Rhodes and Uso, allowing Paul to launch the sneak attack.

The angle established the next night’s blockbuster tag-team match involving Cena and Paul against Rhodes and Uso. It also gave the go-home show a major closing hook that reached beyond the two ladder matches: two world champions were left dealing with an ambush from the Undisputed WWE Champion and his partner.
Why the June 6 episode mattered
It put all 12 Money in the Bank competitors in one place
WWE’s preview emphasized that the complete field for both ladder matches would be present. That made the episode useful as a final character and rivalry check before Money in the Bank 2025. The show did not need every participant to wrestle; simply placing them in the same environment created opportunities for confrontations, alliances and attacks.

The women’s six-woman tag match provided a direct team-versus-team preview, while the men’s matches and post-match attacks emphasized the danger of Rollins’ faction. LA Knight, Penta and Andrade were not just involved in separate matches: they were targeted because they would also be Rollins’ opponents in the ladder match.
The episode therefore presented two different kinds of preparation. The women’s division received a conventional in-ring preview, while the men’s field was shown through disruption and attempted attrition—exactly the sort of disorder that can define a ladder match.
It advanced non-ladder stories without overshadowing the event
Vega’s win and Giulia’s post-match attack advanced the Women’s United States Championship picture. El Hijo del Vikingo and Chad Gable’s involvement promoted Worlds Collide. Cena, Paul, Rhodes and Uso supplied the biggest closing angle.
Those segments gave the episode more purpose than a simple collection of Money in the Bank previews, while keeping the following night’s event at the center of the broadcast.

How to watch WWE SmackDown June 6, 2025 now
The original U.S. broadcast aired on USA Network at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on Friday, June 6, 2025. That is the historical broadcast information and should not be confused with the episode’s present-day replay availability.
Full-episode availability for an older SmackDown depends on your country, the current WWE distribution agreement and the library offered by the relevant streaming service. Those arrangements can change, and a service that carries live SmackDown may not necessarily retain every historical episode on demand.
For the most reliable current options:
- Check WWE’s official results and video pages for verified highlights and individual segment clips.
- Search the official streaming library available in your region for the date June 6, 2025, rather than searching only for “Money in the Bank.”
- Confirm that the listing is the complete SmackDown episode if you want the full broadcast; an official highlights video is not the same as the full show.
- If you are looking for live SmackDown rather than this historical episode, verify which legal live-TV services currently carry USA Network in your location. Channel lineups and regional availability vary by date and market.
Peacock and WWE’s distribution arrangements have changed over time, so a current platform listing should be checked directly before publication or viewing. The original 2025 live-TV home was USA Network; that fact alone does not guarantee that the complete archived episode remains available on the same service.
