Max availability is not permanent. The fact that the film streamed on Max during 2024 does not guarantee that it remains in the catalog today, nor does it establish availability in every country. If you are checking after 2024, search Max directly or use a current U.S. availability guide such as JustWatch before starting a subscription.
Rent or buy it digitally
The U.S. digital home-entertainment release date was May 14, 2024. Viewers could choose between a one-time rental and a digital purchase through participating storefronts, including Apple TV and other retailers whose availability and pricing may vary.
Digital rental is usually the sensible choice if you expect to watch the film once. Digital purchase is better for viewers who want a title associated with their retailer library and do not want to depend on a subscription catalog. Prices, rental periods, playback rules, and purchase availability are retailer-specific, so check the final listing rather than relying on an old price or search result.

Movies Anywhere
Movies Anywhere lists the film as a Warner Bros. title available for digital purchase and includes bonus-feature information, including behind-the-scenes material. It is an ownership and library option—not a free streaming service. Whether a purchase appears in your connected library can depend on your account, supported retailer, territory, and current Movies Anywhere policies.

Apple TV also maintains a U.S. listing for the film. The listing identifies it as a 2024 Warner Bros. release. The retailer’s purchase and rental buttons, price, and availability should be verified at the time of viewing.
Best physical copy for home viewing
The physical home-video release arrived on June 11, 2024, in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD formats. A 4K disc is the strongest choice for viewers with a 4K television and compatible player who want physical ownership and higher-bitrate playback. A standard Blu-ray is a more practical option for most HD setups, while DVD remains compatible with older equipment.

Viewers who want both a disc and a digital copy can look for the Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Blu-ray plus Digital edition. A digital code is not the same thing as a Max subscription: it may have an expiration date, redemption restrictions, or retailer and territory limitations. Check the package details before buying.
Which option is right for you?
- Choose Max if you already subscribe and want to watch without making a separate rental or purchase.
- Rent digitally if you want a convenient one-time viewing and do not need the film in your permanent library.
- Buy digitally through Movies Anywhere or a participating retailer if you prefer digital ownership and do not use physical discs.
- Choose 4K Ultra HD if you collect physical media or have a compatible 4K home-theater system.
- Choose Blu-ray plus Digital if you want a physical backup but also want a digital-copy option.
- Choose DVD if compatibility with older players matters more than image quality.
Runtime and edition details
Platform listings give the film a runtime of approximately 1 hour 55 minutes. Apple TV’s U.S. metadata lists 1 hour 54 minutes. This small difference is most likely a platform metadata or rounding variation, not a materially different cut of the movie. Expect a feature running for roughly 115 minutes, with the total time varying if a retailer includes previews or bonus material.
U.S. availability versus other countries
The dates in this guide are U.S.-oriented. International theatrical releases, digital windows, physical editions, and subscription services may have differed. Do not assume that a U.S. Max listing, Apple TV listing, or Movies Anywhere purchase is available in another territory.
For a current check, search the streaming service and digital stores available in your country. JustWatch can also be used as a discovery tool for current listings, but its results can change as licensing agreements and retailer catalogs change.

What to avoid
Do not rely on unofficial “free movie” pages, torrents, unauthorized uploads, or streaming sites that do not identify a licensed distributor. They can be illegal, unsafe, misleading, or loaded with malicious advertising. Use Max, a recognized digital retailer, Movies Anywhere where supported, or a legitimate physical-media seller instead.
