It is a Boeing 757-200, a former commercial airliner converted into a highly personalized executive aircraft. Registered as N757AF, the aircraft is widely nicknamed “Trump Force One.” Its reported interior includes seating for approximately 43 passengers, private sleeping quarters, three bathrooms, dining and conference areas, Italian-leather seats embroidered with the Trump family crest, and 24-karat-gold-plated fixtures.
Those details make the aircraft remarkable—but they also need some qualification. The FAA confirms the aircraft’s registration, model, serial number, manufacture year, registered owner, and engine type. Many of the cabin details come from the Trump Organization’s promotional material or contemporary media reports, rather than from an independent technical inventory.
What aircraft is Trump Force One?
The aircraft most commonly called Trump Force One is a Boeing 757-200 with the civil registration N757AF. The latest FAA registry information identified in the available research lists:
| Specification | Publicly recorded information |
|---|---|
| Aircraft | Boeing 757-200 Series |
| Serial number | 25155 |
| Year manufactured | 1991 |
| Registered owner | DJT OPERATIONS I LLC, West Palm Beach, Florida |
| Engines | Rolls-Royce RB-211-series turbofans |
| Registration certificate | Issued August 25, 2010; public record expiration listed as March 31, 2028 |
The FAA record establishes the aircraft’s registration details, but it does not by itself prove the jet’s exact present interior, maintenance condition, current flight schedule, or airworthiness. The FAA specifically warns that registry information should not be used alone to determine those things. Accordingly, N757AF is best described as currently registered, rather than automatically assumed to be flying or configured exactly as described in older promotional material.

For readers who want a physical collectible connected to the aircraft type, a Boeing 757-200 model airplane is the most straightforward option. Exact scale, paint scheme, and seller availability vary, so a model should not be assumed to depict N757AF specifically.
It began as an airliner, not a private jet
The most striking fact about the aircraft is its origin. Trump’s jet began life as a commercial Boeing 757 rather than as a purpose-built corporate aircraft such as a Gulfstream or Bombardier business jet.
The Boeing 757-200 was designed to carry airline passengers. Boeing’s historical specifications describe an aircraft approximately 155 feet 3 inches long, with a 124-foot 10-inch wingspan, a maximum gross weight of about 255,000 pounds, a cruising speed of approximately 500 miles per hour, and a published range of roughly 3,200 to 4,500 miles, depending on configuration.
Those are standard Boeing 757-200 figures, not a guarantee of the precise performance of Trump’s modified aircraft. Private interiors, fuel loads, engine condition, equipment, and operating restrictions can all affect an individual aircraft’s capabilities.
That airline heritage explains why Trump Force One feels so different from the small private jets most people associate with wealthy travelers. The aircraft has the physical scale of a passenger airliner, but the cabin is arranged for a small group of occupants rather than a dense commercial seating plan.
How many people can it carry?
Contemporary reports and an official promotional tour described a cabin configured for approximately 43 passengers. That is a reported figure, not an FAA-certified seating specification established by the registry entry.
Compared with a typical airline configuration, 43 passengers is a very small number for a Boeing 757. The reduced passenger count creates room for larger seats, social areas, sleeping quarters, bathrooms, and entertainment equipment. In other words, the aircraft’s luxury comes partly from what is absent: rows of tightly packed economy seats.
The cabin has been described as containing a main lounge, a dining area, conference space, a bedroom, and a guest room. The Trump Organization’s own aviation description instead refers to two private guestrooms. These descriptions may reflect different layouts, terminology, or versions of the promotional presentation, so the safest conclusion is that the aircraft was designed with private sleeping accommodations rather than claiming a fully documented present-day floor plan.
Gold-plated details—not a cabin made of solid gold
The aircraft’s most repeated luxury detail is its gold-colored hardware. According to the Trump Organization, the cabin includes 24-karat-gold-plated accents. Media reports and promotional-tour coverage have also described gold-plated seatbelts, sinks, and other fittings.

The important word is plated. Available reporting describes gold plating, not solid-gold construction. That distinction matters: a thin layer of gold can create the visual effect associated with extreme luxury without meaning that the aircraft contains solid-gold structural components or fixtures throughout.
The reported gold details are part of a broader design theme. Rather than retaining the anonymous, standardized appearance of an airline cabin, the aircraft uses custom materials and highly recognizable branding to make the interior feel like a private residence, hotel suite, and meeting space combined.
Italian leather and the Trump family crest
The Trump Organization describes the aircraft’s seats as being covered in Italian leather and embroidered with the Trump family crest. This is another detail that comes from the owner’s official promotional description, not an independently published technical inspection of every seat.

Embroidery and custom upholstery are relatively familiar ideas in private aviation, but their effect is different when applied to a former airliner. In an ordinary passenger aircraft, branding is generally limited to the airline’s logo and standardized cabin design. Here, the seats reportedly function as part of the owner’s personal aesthetic and identity.
The result is less like an airline cabin with upgraded chairs and more like a branded executive interior built around a specific owner.
A bedroom, guest accommodations, and three bathrooms
One of the clearest contrasts with a normal private jet is the amount of space devoted to living areas. The Trump Organization says the aircraft has two private guestrooms and three bathrooms. Promotional-tour reporting has also described a bedroom and a separate guest room.
Private aviation cabins commonly include lavatories, but three bathrooms on an aircraft of this type underline how far the conversion goes beyond a standard executive layout. The sleeping areas also make long-distance travel more practical and private, especially when the aircraft is carrying a small group instead of hundreds of airline passengers.

Dining and conference areas turn the jet into a flying office
The cabin has also been described as including a dining area and conference space. That combination reflects the practical purpose of a large executive aircraft: it is not only a way to get from one airport to another, but also a place to work, meet, eat, rest, and entertain while traveling.

A 757 platform offers substantially more cabin volume than a small business jet. That allows the interior to be divided into different zones rather than forcing every passenger to use the same seating area. A traveler can move from a lounge to a dining or meeting area, then retreat to a private room.
The trade-off is that a 757 is a much larger and more complex aircraft to operate than a conventional private jet. Its size, age, engines, maintenance requirements, airport compatibility, and operating costs are all different from those of a smaller corporate aircraft.

Promotional-tour coverage described a large-screen entertainment system, including a screen reported to measure 57 inches and an on-demand movie library. The Trump Organization has also referred generally to extensive entertainment equipment.
These details are best attributed to the promotional tour and contemporary reporting. The available evidence does not independently audit the screen’s current size, the contents of any movie library, or whether the equipment remains installed in exactly the same form.
Still, the concept is easy to understand: the aircraft was designed to provide a private cinema-like experience rather than the small seat-back screens familiar from commercial aviation. A large shared screen also fits the aircraft’s reported lounge and social layout.
Trump reportedly bought it from Paul Allen
Trump purchased the Boeing 757 in 2011 from Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. Contemporary reporting put the purchase price at approximately $100 million and said Trump planned to retrofit the aircraft before placing it into service.
The figure should not be treated as the aircraft’s current value. A private airliner’s price depends on factors such as airframe age, engine status, maintenance records, interior quality, refurbishment history, ownership structure, and the state of the aircraft market at the time of sale. The reported acquisition price is a historical figure, not a reliable present-day valuation.
Aviation-history accounts identify the aircraft as a 1991-built jet that previously operated in airline service, including with Sterling Airlines and later Mexico’s TAESA, before becoming associated with Allen as a corporate aircraft. The FAA independently confirms the 1991 manufacture year and the aircraft’s identity as serial number 25155; the detailed operator chronology comes from aviation-history reporting rather than the FAA registry itself.
Why is it called “Trump Force One”?
“Trump Force One” is an informal nickname modeled on “Air Force One.” It is not the aircraft’s legal name, registration, or official presidential designation. The aircraft remains a civilian Boeing 757 registered as N757AF.

A separate call sign, “Tyson 1,” was reported in 2016, but that should not be treated as the aircraft’s permanent identity. Call signs can vary according to the circumstances of a flight and the operator’s arrangements.
Trump Force One is not Air Force One
The distinction is important. Air Force One is the call sign used when the president is aboard a qualifying U.S. Air Force aircraft. Trump’s Boeing 757 is privately owned and civilian. It does not become Air Force One merely because the president is on board.
The nickname “Trump Force One” is therefore a piece of branding and popular shorthand, not a statement that the aircraft has the status, security architecture, crew, communications systems, or government ownership associated with the presidential fleet.
Storage, refurbishment, and a return to visible service
The aircraft went through a period of storage and extensive maintenance before becoming visible in service again in the early 2020s. Public aviation reports described engine and maintenance issues, followed by substantial work that included repairs, refurbishment, engine work or replacement, and a new paint scheme.
Because the available research does not provide a complete maintenance file, it would be inaccurate to turn those reports into a definitive account of every repair or to infer the aircraft’s current airworthiness from its appearance. The FAA’s registry warning is especially relevant here: registration status and airworthiness are separate questions.

Why the aircraft remains so distinctive
The fascination with Trump Force One is not based on a single extravagance. It comes from the collision of two very different concepts: a mass-market commercial airliner and an intensely personalized luxury interior.
The Boeing 757 platform supplies the scale. The reported 43-seat layout supplies the space. Gold-plated fittings, custom leather, family-crest upholstery, private rooms, multiple bathrooms, meeting areas, and theater-style entertainment supply the visual identity. Together, they transform an aircraft designed for airline service into a flying compound for a small number of people.
