The Oscars Red Carpet Show: 6:30 p.m. Eastern
The official Academy/ABC red-carpet special began at 6:30 p.m. Eastern / 3:30 p.m. Pacific and ran for 30 minutes directly into the ceremony. How to stream the 2025 Oscars
Hulu

- Hulu + Live TV: A separate live-TV package that also carried ABC where the local affiliate was available.
Contemporaneous guides listed the official 6:30 p.m. red-carpet show with the Hulu Oscars event, although the Academy’s formal release specifically identified ABC for the special. The practical approach was to open Hulu’s Oscars live event before 6:30 p.m. and keep local ABC available as a backup.
Do not rely on old subscription prices or assume that the same Hulu access rules apply now. Streaming packages and event rights change frequently.
ABC.com and the ABC app
ABC also listed the livestream on ABC.com. It was not a universally free, no-login stream: access required credentials from a participating cable, satellite or live-TV provider, and availability was limited to select markets.

Where to watch the earliest arrivals and fashion coverage
ABC News Live
ABC News Live was the clearest streaming choice for the earliest ABC coverage. On the Red Carpet at the Oscars began at 3:30 p.m. Eastern and offered arrivals, interviews and fashion coverage well before the official 30-minute special.
ABC News listed streaming access through Hulu, Disney+, The Roku Channel, YouTube, YouTube TV, Samsung TV Plus, Amazon, Pluto TV, Xumo, Tubi, TikTok, ABCNews.com, the ABC News and ABC News Live apps, and ABC-owned stations’ digital platforms. The exact location of the feed could differ by device or region, so searching the service for “ABC News Live” or the Oscars was generally more reliable than looking for the ABC television channel.
E!: a separate red-carpet production
E! offered its own fashion-focused coverage, separate from the official Academy/ABC pre-show:

AP’s arrivals livestream
The Associated Press offered a separate livestream of stars’ arrivals on APNews.com and AP’s YouTube channel. This was useful for viewers interested mainly in arrival footage, but it was not the complete Oscars ceremony or the official Academy red-carpet show.

The backup advice mattered during the 2025 broadcast. Hulu experienced substantial technical problems, including login and loading difficulties, error messages and black screens. The livestream also cut off before the Best Actress and Best Picture announcements because of a scheduling-system issue. Disney apologized and said a complete replay, including the final awards, was made available afterward. The Associated Press reported on the outage and replay response.

Restarting the Hulu app or streaming device was among the troubleshooting steps suggested by Hulu Support, but restarting alone was not a dependable plan for a live event. If a major broadcast is already underway, changing platforms is usually faster than repeatedly refreshing one failing app.

The ABC and Hulu instructions above were for viewers in the United States. Oscars distribution outside the U.S. was handled by territory-specific broadcasters and platforms. Disney’s 2025 guide referred to international Disney+ streaming and broadcast outlets around the world, but availability depended on the viewer’s country.
International viewers should use the Academy’s country-by-country How to Watch guide and check the local broadcaster’s schedule. U.S. Hulu access was not a worldwide option, and ABC.com’s U.S. authentication rules did not establish international availability. VPN workarounds should not be presented as official viewing methods.
