Behind Bars – Prison Stories: Tattoo Fashion, Guantanamo Bay, Kids Behind Bars

In this thought-provoking documentary, we get a glimpse of the hidden world of prison fashion through the eyes of a designer working in one of the most dangerous and toughest prisons in Mexico. The designer creates expensive designer wallets with the help of inmates, shedding light on the resourcefulness that can exist within the walls of a prison.

We then delve into the highly controversial Guantanamo Bay detention camp, the world’s most notorious prison. Infamous for harsh interrogation methods and not abiding by habeas corpus, which is a fundamental principle of American law, Guantanamo Bay has become an iconic symbol of human rights violations. In this film, we go beyond the headlines and see what it’s like behind the barbed wire fences.

Our journey ends on a sober note: the prison camp for children. Yes, this exists. A place where you can send your unruly child for the weekend, and they will be taken away in handcuffs and given a taste of real-life prison treatment. It’s an alarming reality that truly highlights the extent to which society has gone in an effort to control and discipline its youth.
