There are more than 1500 potentially active volcanoes worldwide. And that number is aside from the continuous belts of volcanoes on the ocean floor.

Volcanic eruptions can be highly explosive. In the past several years, we’ve had a couple of volcanic explosions and eruptions.

And there are active volcanoes that can go off at any given moment. How dangerous are volcanic eruptions? Highly dangerous. Think about this for a moment. In 1815, Mount Tambora erupted, and killed roughly 100,000 people.

It is still regarded as the deadliest known impact of a volcano eruption. This documentary takes a look at some of the deadliest volcanoes in the world.
