Matthew Underwood, who played Logan Reese on Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101, said in a public statement in March 2024 that a former agent sexually harassed and assaulted him when he was 19. The allegation was Underwood’s account; the reporting reviewed did not establish a court ruling or independent finding about the incident.
What did Matthew Underwood say about his former agent?
In an Instagram statement shared March 29, 2024, Underwood wrote that his agent at the time had built trust with him as a friend and mentor before the alleged abuse. TheWrap quoted his statement: “When I was 19, I was sexually harassed and then assaulted by my agent at the time, who had spent a decent amount of time building trust with me as a friend and mentor.” (TheWrap)

Underwood said the experience prompted him to move away from Los Angeles and stop pursuing acting. In a portion of his statement quoted by ABC News, he wrote: “This experience provoked my move away from LA and ended my pursuit of acting.” (ABC News)
That description should not be read as saying he never acted again: ABC News reported that Underwood returned to screen work, including the 2023 sequel Zoey 102.

Was the former agent identified?
No. The reporting did not name the former agent. The Los Angeles Times reported that Underwood’s current agent, Lauren Green, confirmed the former agent had died, but the paper did not identify that person. (Los Angeles Times)
How did the allegation relate to Quiet on Set?
Underwood made his statement amid public attention surrounding the documentary series Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV and pressure on former Nickelodeon performers to comment. He said he was responding to that pressure and to hostile messages he had received. He also said he had not had a bad experience working on Nickelodeon sets or with producer Dan Schneider. These remarks about his work environment are separate from his allegation against a former agent; Underwood did not say the alleged assault happened on a Nickelodeon set. (ABC News)
