Yes. Zach Bryan announced on Instagram on Oct. 22, 2024, that he and Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia had broken up. He offered a brief apology and said, “I am not perfect and never will be.” LaPaglia responded hours later that she felt blindsided. The Los Angeles Times reported both statements that day.
What Zach Bryan said in the breakup announcement
Bryan’s Instagram statement said: “Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart.” He described the preceding year as difficult and said he believed it would be beneficial for them to go their separate ways. He did not give a detailed explanation for the breakup.
He also wrote: “I am not perfect and never will be.” The statement included two further lines: “With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry,” and “I failed people that love me and mostly myself.” These words were reproduced from his Instagram Story in the Times’ Oct. 22 report; the report is the source for the quotations here.
How Brianna LaPaglia responded
Hours after Bryan’s announcement, LaPaglia posted: “Hey guys I’m feeling really blindsided right now.” She said she planned to step away from social media so she could heal privately, according to the Times’ account of her Instagram Story.

What is—and is not—established about the reason
The announcement itself gives only a general explanation: Bryan referred to a difficult personal year and said he thought separating would be beneficial. The Times noted that speculation had circulated the day before after screenshots of a dating-app profile said to belong to Bryan appeared online. Those screenshots were not established as proof of his account or as the reason for the breakup, and Bryan’s announcement did not identify them as a cause.
