On December 8, 2025, he confirmed that the visa had arrived after the scheduled run and said the tour was officially cancelled. As of October 8, 2026, his official FAQ lists no new U.S. dates.
Why was the tour postponed?
On September 29, 2025, Yusuf / Cat Stevens announced that the U.S. and Canadian appearances planned for October would not go ahead as scheduled. He said his team had waited months for visa approvals, but there was no longer enough time to arrange the production logistics needed for the show. In his announcement, he wrote: “Waiting months for visa approvals, we held out as long as we could. However, at this point, the production logistics necessary for my show cannot be arranged in time.” His announcement and the Associated Press report identify visa delays as the stated cause; they do not establish the visa category or explain why approval was delayed.
Was it rescheduled or cancelled?
The artist later clarified that the tour was cancelled, not rescheduled. On December 8, 2025, he said the visa arrived only after the last scheduled date had passed: “Unpredictably, and befuddling to us all, the actual visa finally got delivered after the last scheduled date of the tour had passed.” He said his agent and team had explored every possible avenue and expressed hope that something might be arranged in the future. That hope was not an announcement of replacement dates. The December announcement called the North American book tour officially cancelled.
As of October 8, 2026, the official tour FAQ says there are no new U.S. dates scheduled. Fans should therefore treat the 2025 run as cancelled rather than assume it has been rescheduled.

What was the tour, and when were the shows meant to happen?
The appearances were a book tour for Cat on the Road to Findout, presented as an “evening of tales, tunes and other mysteries” combining conversation and acoustic performances. The Associated Press reported that the opening North American date was scheduled for October 2, 2025, in Philadelphia, with a Toronto stop on October 8.
What should ticket holders do?
The official FAQ gives separate guidance by purchase source. It describes what to do if an event is rescheduled, but the artist’s later announcement says this tour was cancelled. The FAQ does not, in the guidance cited here, promise a refund or say tickets automatically remain valid for a future date.

No. The postponement affected the appearances, not the memoir: Yusuf / Cat Stevens said the book would still be available. The Associated Press reported its U.S. release date as October 7, 2025. The book is Cat on the Road to Findout.
