YouTube TV is keeping NBCUniversal’s channels under a new multiyear partnership, but the Peacock benefit is being overstated in some summaries. The July 27, 2026 announcement covers continued live-network carriage on YouTube TV, separate Peacock subscriptions through YouTube Primetime Channels, and a Peacock Premium bundle planned for U.S. YouTube Premium subscribers in early 2027. It does not announce free Peacock for every YouTube TV customer.
The deal keeps NBCUniversal’s major networks on YouTube TV, but it does not mean Peacock is automatically free for YouTube TV subscribers. NBCUniversal and YouTube announced a broader multiyear strategic partnership on July 27, 2026. The agreement combines three separate arrangements: continued NBCUniversal channel carriage on YouTube TV, expanded Peacock distribution through YouTube Primetime Channels, and a future Peacock Premium bundle for U.S. subscribers to YouTube Premium.
That distinction matters. YouTube TV, YouTube Premium, and Peacock are separate products. The announcements do not say that every YouTube TV customer receives Peacock at no additional charge, nor do they say that Peacock Premium Plus is included in a standard YouTube TV subscription.
What the NBCUniversal deal means for YouTube TV
YouTube TV’s multiyear distribution relationship with NBCUniversal has been extended, preserving access to NBCUniversal’s entertainment, news, and sports channels on the live-TV service. The portfolio identified in the earlier carriage announcement includes:
#1 Best Overall
- Important: Watch the video and learn the”Designed for" details listed below!
- Designed for concrete, brick and wood studs wall (single stud).
- Designed for TVs up to 80 lbs (36.3 KG) and display sized 26" - 55" (66 CM - 140 CM).
- Designed for VESA sized from 3.9'' x 3.9'' through 15.7'' x 15.7''.
- Comfortable View with tilt range from +10° to -5°.
- NBC, subject to local-market availability
- Telemundo
- Bravo
- CNBC
- Golf Channel
- E!
- Oxygen True Crime
- MSNBC
- USA Network
- Syfy
- Universo
For viewers, the immediate practical result is continuity rather than a new channel package: YouTube TV customers can continue watching NBCUniversal networks carried by their plan instead of facing the blackout that was possible during the 2025 negotiations.
The earlier dispute briefly raised the possibility of a service interruption. YouTube said on September 25, 2025, that its existing agreement was scheduled to expire on September 30. The companies reached a short-term extension on September 30 and announced a new long-term agreement on October 2, 2025. The July 2026 partnership announcement reaffirmed that YouTube TV distribution would continue under the broader relationship.
The exact length, expiration date, financial terms, and rate structure of the long-term carriage agreement have not been disclosed. “Multiyear” should not be converted into a specific number of years.
Where the Peacock perk actually applies
Peacock’s role in the partnership is separate from YouTube TV’s channel carriage. There are two relevant Peacock arrangements.
Peacock through YouTube Primetime Channels
Peacock Premium Plus became available as a subscription through YouTube Primetime Channels on June 29, 2026. The tier was listed at $16.99 per month in the official announcement at that time. It provides access to Peacock programming such as NBC and Bravo series, Universal films, Peacock originals, and live sports, subject to the applicable rights, market, and blackout rules.

The July 27 announcement also said that standard Peacock Premium, listed at $10.99 per month at that time, would become available as a separate add-on through YouTube Primetime Channels later in summer 2026. Because the announcement used future-facing language and did not establish a universal purchase state, eligibility, or billing arrangement for every user, check the current YouTube purchase screen before assuming that standard Peacock Premium is available through your account.
In either case, this is a separate subscription path. Buying or retaining YouTube TV should not be treated as automatic enrollment in Peacock on YouTube Primetime Channels.
Peacock with YouTube Premium in early 2027
The larger future benefit is tied to YouTube Premium, not the regular YouTube TV membership. NBCUniversal says Peacock Premium is scheduled to be included in a bundle with YouTube Premium for U.S. subscribers beginning in early 2027.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe companies describe the bundle as a way to give millions of existing and future YouTube Premium subscribers access to Peacock within the YouTube experience. The announcement highlights Peacock programming and sports including:
- NFL coverage, including Sunday Night Football
- The Olympics
- NBA and MLB programming
- Big Ten and Notre Dame football
- Big Ten and Big East college basketball
- Premier League soccer
- WNBA games
- The Kentucky Derby
- Golf
The final launch date, price, eligibility rules, account-linking process, and treatment of existing YouTube Premium customers had not been provided in the announcement. It is therefore accurate to describe this as an announced early-2027 bundle, not as a benefit available today and not as a benefit guaranteed to every YouTube TV subscriber.

YouTube TV versus Peacock: what each service is for
| What you want to watch | The relevant service | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Live NBCUniversal cable networks such as Bravo, CNBC, MSNBC, USA Network, Syfy, and Golf Channel | YouTube TV, where the network is included in the customer’s plan | Availability depends on the plan and market. |
| Your local NBC broadcast station | YouTube TV in supported home areas | Local network availability depends on the subscriber’s ZIP code and designated home area. |
| Peacock originals, Universal films, selected NBC and Bravo programming, and Peacock-centered sports coverage | Peacock | Peacock is a separate subscription unless a specific bundle or promotion applies. |
| Short-form clips, highlights, and selected shows | YouTube | Clips and highlights are not equivalent to full live-event or full-season rights. |
| Universal Pictures Home Entertainment films and TV shows for purchase or rental | Google TV, YouTube TV, or YouTube | Purchases and rentals are separate transactions from channel subscriptions. |
YouTube TV’s local NBC availability is not universal. A viewer should enter the home ZIP code in the service’s channel lineup tool rather than assume that the local NBC affiliate, Telemundo station, or another broadcast outlet is included everywhere.
Peacock also does not duplicate every YouTube TV right. Individual games, races, shows, and films can be distributed differently depending on the competition, market, platform, subscription tier, and blackout rules. The existence of NBCUniversal carriage on YouTube TV does not guarantee that every Peacock-exclusive event will appear on YouTube TV.

NBCUniversal’s sports rights are spread across broadcast television, cable networks, and Peacock. The expanded Google relationship gives viewers more ways to find NBCUniversal programming, but it does not collapse those rights into one universally included package.
For example, YouTube TV remains important for live NBC and NBCUniversal cable coverage, while Peacock can be the relevant destination for selected games, events, or additional coverage. The July 2026 announcement specifically promotes Peacock’s access to major properties such as the NFL, Olympics, NBA, MLB, college football, Premier League, WNBA, the Kentucky Derby, and golf.
The October 2025 carriage announcement also described plans for a new NBC Sports Network on YouTube TV. It was presented as a service carrying a broad range of NBCUniversal sports programming and complementing sports shown on the NBC broadcast network. The companies did not publish a complete schedule or explain all distribution outlets. That means the new network should not be described as a replacement for Peacock, and no one should assume that every event currently exclusive to Peacock will move to it.

What changes for existing subscribers?
If you already subscribe to YouTube TV, the main confirmed benefit is continued access to the NBCUniversal networks included in your plan. There is no verified announcement that you need to activate anything to preserve that access.
There is also no verified announcement that YouTube TV’s base price now includes Peacock, that Peacock Premium Plus is free for YouTube TV customers, or that YouTube TV subscribers will automatically qualify for the early-2027 YouTube Premium bundle.
If you want Peacock now, look for the Peacock subscription option in YouTube Primetime Channels and review the price, renewal terms, supported tier, and account used for billing before completing the purchase. If you are considering the future bundle, treat early 2027 as the announced starting window and wait for the final eligibility and pricing details.
Do you need a new streaming device?
Usually, no. If your television already supports YouTube TV and Peacock, the deal does not require new hardware. Supported platforms identified by the services include Google TV and Chromecast with Google TV, Android TV, Fire TV devices, Roku devices, Apple TV, and supported smart TVs. Exact app support can vary by device model, operating-system version, and region.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A practical way to choose the right subscription
- Check the event or program first. Determine whether it is airing on NBC, a YouTube TV cable network, Peacock, or another outlet. “NBCUniversal programming” is not one single distribution tier.
- Verify your local lineup. Use YouTube TV’s ZIP-code lookup for local NBC and other broadcast availability.
- Use YouTube TV for the live-channel bundle. It is the relevant choice when you want a live-TV interface and the NBCUniversal networks included in your market and plan.
- Use Peacock for Peacock-specific access. Choose the applicable Peacock tier if the show, film, or event is offered there and is not included in your YouTube TV channel lineup.
- Compare billing locations. A Peacock subscription purchased through YouTube Primetime Channels may have different account, billing, cancellation, or promotional mechanics from a subscription purchased directly from Peacock. Review the checkout terms.
- Wait for the final 2027 bundle details. Do not cancel or change YouTube Premium or YouTube TV based solely on the announced bundle until its price, eligibility, and activation process are published.
Timeline of the agreement
- September 25, 2025: YouTube said the existing NBCUniversal agreement was due to expire on September 30 and described the renewal dispute.
- September 30, 2025: The companies reached a short-term extension to avoid an immediate service disruption.
- October 2, 2025: YouTube and NBCUniversal announced a new long-term carriage agreement for YouTube TV and expanded Peacock distribution across YouTube and Google platforms.
- June 29, 2026: Peacock Premium Plus became available as a YouTube Primetime Channels subscription.
- July 27, 2026: NBCUniversal and YouTube announced the broader multiyear strategic partnership, including continued YouTube TV distribution and the early-2027 YouTube Premium/Peacock Premium bundle.
- August 12, 2026: The verified position is that NBCUniversal carriage continues on YouTube TV, Peacock Premium Plus is available through YouTube Primetime Channels, and the YouTube Premium bundle remains future-dated for early 2027.
What the announcement does not say
- It does not say that Peacock is free for all YouTube TV subscribers.
- It does not say that Peacock Premium Plus is included in the YouTube TV base plan.
- It does not give an exact expiration date for the multiyear carriage agreement.
- It does not guarantee that every local NBC affiliate is available in every market.
- It does not guarantee access to every regional sports network or Peacock-exclusive event through YouTube TV.
- It does not establish final pricing or eligibility for the early-2027 YouTube Premium bundle.
- It does not make the announced Peacock prices permanent; streaming prices can change.
The clearest reading is therefore straightforward: YouTube TV keeps NBCUniversal’s live network portfolio, while Peacock becomes easier to buy through Google’s ecosystem. The actual “perk” for YouTube TV customers is continued NBCUniversal carriage—not an automatic Peacock subscription.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do YouTube TV subscribers get Peacock for free?
No. The verified announcements do not say that Peacock is automatically included with every YouTube TV subscription. YouTube TV continues to carry NBCUniversal’s live networks, while Peacock is sold separately through YouTube Primetime Channels unless a specific promotion or bundle says otherwise.
How much does Peacock cost through YouTube?
Peacock Premium Plus became available through YouTube Primetime Channels on June 29, 2026. It was listed at $16.99 per month in the announcement. Standard Peacock Premium was announced at $10.99 per month and was expected to become available through Primetime Channels later in summer 2026, but you should confirm its current purchase status and price in your account.
When will Peacock be bundled with YouTube Premium?
The announced bundle is for U.S. subscribers to YouTube Premium and is scheduled to begin in early 2027. The final price, eligibility rules, activation process, and treatment of existing customers have not been disclosed. It should not be confused with a standard YouTube TV benefit.
Will every NBC sports event be available on YouTube TV?
Not necessarily. YouTube TV carries NBCUniversal networks included in your plan, but Peacock may have separate or exclusive rights to particular games and events. Check the listing for the specific event, especially for NFL, Olympics, Premier League, college sports, and other major competitions.
Do I need a new device to use YouTube TV and Peacock?
No. A supported smart TV, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Google TV device, or other compatible platform may already run both apps. A device such as the Google TV Streamer 4K is only an optional solution for a television that lacks compatible apps.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: The NBC deal protects YouTube TV’s access to NBCUniversal channels and expands Peacock distribution through YouTube. Peacock Premium Plus is a separate Primetime Channels subscription, while the announced Peacock Premium bundle is tied to U.S. YouTube Premium subscribers beginning in early 2027—not automatically to YouTube TV members.
