Short answer: YouTube TV’s main plan remains its broadest live-TV package, but its newer genre-focused plans are selective rather than cheaper versions of the complete lineup. Local channels depend on your home ZIP code, add-ons fill only some gaps, and a channel listed in YouTube TV’s directory may not be included in every plan.
Recent reporting says HBCU Go, Cars.TV, and TheGrio were added to YouTube TV and later confirmed live. Meanwhile, lower-priced plans have reported omissions such as AMC, IFC, BBC America, The Weather Channel, BBC News, and Court TV. Treat the examples below as a dated guide—not a permanent nationwide channel list. Check your exact lineup on YouTube TV’s official ZIP-code lookup before subscribing or changing plans.
What “available on YouTube TV” actually means
A channel can be “available” in several different ways:
- It may be carried on YouTube TV’s main plan but excluded from a genre plan.
- It may be offered through a premium or sports add-on.
- It may be available nationally but not through your local ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, PBS, or regional sports affiliate.
- It may appear in the website directory before streaming begins.
- It may be temporarily unavailable during a carriage dispute.
- It may have been rebranded or moved in the guide.
YouTube TV says it is available throughout the United States and carries more than 100 broadcast, cable, and regional sports networks, but the applicable lineup depends on location and plan. Its availability guidance specifically directs viewers to check their home area.

Recently added channels: HBCU Go, Cars.TV, and TheGrio
In July 2026, reporting identified three Allen Media networks added to YouTube TV:

The rollout is a useful warning: a channel can appear in the official directory before it is watchable. The additions were reported by Cord Cutters News, whose later update said the networks were live. Confirm their status in the lineup attached to your account rather than relying on a general channel page.
How the new plan structure changes the lineup
YouTube TV describes its main plan as the most comprehensive option, while genre plans are intended to provide more targeted choices. That means a plan labeled “Entertainment,” “Sports,” or “News” should not be assumed to contain every network associated with that category. These are reported plan-specific examples, not proof that every one is absent from every YouTube TV subscription. News plan: a narrower definition of “news”
The News plan has reportedly omitted:
- The Weather Channel
- BBC News
- Court TV
- Scripps News
This is an important edge case. A news-focused package may include many news networks while still excluding the specific weather, international, legal, or rolling-news channel you watch most. Do not judge it by the plan name alone.
Sports plan: sports-adjacent gaps
Coverage has reported that the Sports plan may exclude Ion. That can matter because Ion carries some WNBA and NWSL programming. A sports-focused plan therefore does not automatically include every network that occasionally carries sports.

Local channels and regional sports are ZIP-code dependent
YouTube TV cannot promise every household the same local lineup. Local ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, PBS, and other broadcast affiliates vary by market. Regional sports coverage is also location-dependent.
Enter the address or ZIP code for the household’s designated home area before subscribing. A national list may show a network family while your market lacks the local affiliate you expect. Travel can also affect which local networks and programs are available outside the home area.
How to check your exact channel lineup
- Open the official YouTube TV signup or channel-lookup page.
- Enter the household’s home ZIP code.
- Review the local ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, PBS, and regional sports listings.
- Select the exact plan you are considering.
- Read that plan’s channel list rather than the service-wide marketing list.
- Review premium, sports, Spanish-language, and other add-ons separately.
- Search for the exact network name. Do not assume a parent company’s other channels are included.
- Repeat the check after a major lineup announcement, rebrand, or carriage dispute.
YouTube TV’s signup page labels availability as subject to location and other conditions. That ZIP-code lookup is more reliable than a third-party “complete lineup” article, especially as plans change.
Spanish-language, family, and add-on options
YouTube TV also offers Spanish-language plans and add-ons, family-oriented choices, and premium or league-specific add-ons. Their contents should be treated separately from the main plan and from the genre plans discussed above. A Spanish-language or family package is not necessarily a reduced version of the main lineup, and an add-on may restore one category without restoring every related network.

For any specialized package, make a checklist of the exact networks and programs you need. Then confirm each item in the plan-specific lineup and calculate the total recurring cost, including add-ons and any second service required to fill the remaining gaps.

There is no safe universal list of channels that YouTube TV “doesn’t have.” A network that looks missing may instead be:
- Excluded only from a cheaper plan.
- Available through an add-on.
- Unavailable in your local market.
- Temporarily removed during negotiations.
- Rebranded, renamed, or relocated in the guide.
- Listed online but not yet live.
For example, a previous Disney carriage dispute temporarily removed ABC, ESPN, Disney Channel, FX, and National Geographic before an agreement restored them. The episode, documented by the Associated Press, shows why a channel absent today is not necessarily permanently dropped.
Rebrands can create similar confusion. Reporting about an MS NOW listing change found that a network could disappear from one website location while remaining accessible elsewhere in YouTube TV. Check the guide under the current network name before concluding that it has been removed. (Cord Cutters News)

What to do when an included channel is missing
- Check the plan. Confirm that the account is on the plan containing the network.
- Check the ZIP code and home area. Local and regional channels may not be available where you are viewing.
- Search the guide. A custom live guide may hide channels that remain included.
- Check the network’s new name. Rebrands can make a channel appear to vanish.
- Refresh the app. Sign out and back in, update the YouTube TV app, and check the native app on another device.
- Check travel restrictions. Viewing away from the home area can change local programming.
- Look for a dispute notice. A temporary carriage issue is different from a permanent omission.
- Compare the website and app. If the official directory lists the network but the guide does not, the listing may not yet be live or the app may have stale account data.
Do not describe a channel as permanently removed based on one device, one guide configuration, or one customer report.
Is YouTube TV still worth it?
It is a strong fit for viewers who want a broad general-interest live-TV bundle and whose must-have local and national networks appear in the main plan or a reasonably priced add-on. It can also work well for households whose viewing is concentrated in one genre plan.
The value becomes less clear when a cheaper plan omits a must-have channel and forces you to buy another service. The apparent saving can disappear once you add a second subscription, a league package, or a premium network. Compare the total monthly cost after promotional pricing ends, not just the headline plan price.

Before signing up, list five to ten must-have channels, verify each one by ZIP code and plan, price the necessary add-ons, check the post-promotion rate, and review cancellation and simultaneous-streaming terms. YouTube TV’s own lineup lookup should be the final authority for your household.
