Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →For an archived livestream, use YouTube Studio to find the claimant, the content YouTube says was used, and the claimed time range. Then compare that interval with any local recording or separately captured audio from your FFmpeg workflow. FFmpeg itself is not established as a way to identify a song or rights holder automatically.
First, tell a live interruption from an archive claim
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a continuing match, it may show a placeholder image, interrupt the stream, or terminate it. A claim on an archived livestream is a separate stage: YouTube says Content ID claims may be made after the stream ends if you archive it. YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams explains the live-stream process.
If the stream is still running, note any warning or interruption and address the content or rights issue; the archived-video steps below apply once a video is available in Studio. If a live stream was interrupted, do not assume the archive claim workflow will explain the interruption by itself.
Find the claimed content and timestamp in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Content.
- Filter the list by Claims and locate the archived livestream.
- In the video’s Restrictions column, select See details.
- Record the claimant, the content identified in the claim, and the timestamp or segment shown. If the claim details do not clearly name the work, treat the label as a clue—not proof of the song’s identity. Separate segments can have different claimants.
YouTube’s copyright-claim guidance describes claim details and potential effects. A Content ID claim can lead to monetization, tracking, or blocking, and the effect can vary by territory. A claim is not the same as a copyright takedown or strike; an unfamiliar claimant alone does not establish that a claim is invalid. See also YouTube’s explanation of what a claim is.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Match the claim interval to your FFmpeg source audio
Use the timestamp from Studio to narrow down which part of the production to inspect. Check any retained local recording, separately captured audio, and the source inputs used by the FFmpeg workflow for that interval. If you kept multiple recordings or tracks, compare them rather than assuming the final stream was the only copy of the audio.
- Confirm the recording covers the claimed time range and account for any difference between its clock and the livestream timeline.
- Listen around the timestamp, including a short lead-in and tail, to locate the sound that matches the claim.
- If a claim spans a long segment or identifies content ambiguously, check for multiple sounds or separate claims before deciding what to change.
FFmpeg can be part of a media-handling workflow, but the cited YouTube guidance establishes how to inspect claims—not a command or built-in FFmpeg process for recognizing music. The right extraction or review method depends on the recording’s container, audio streams, and timing. Do not treat a guessed command or an unclear claim label as a verified song identification.

Choose what to do with the claim
Decide based on whether you have permission to use the material, whether preserving the archive matters, and whether the issue is a live stream or its archived video. For an archive, YouTube documents options to leave the claim, mute or erase audio, trim the segment, or replace the song with audio from the YouTube Audio Library. YouTube’s instructions for removing copyright-claimed content describe the available edits.
- If you have a license: contact the rights holder about allowlisting your channel through Content ID. YouTube notes that a live stream can still be interrupted if the channel has not been allowlisted.
- If you want to keep the archive: consider whether replacing or muting audio preserves more of the video than trimming the segment.
- If you want to remove only the song: try the song-specific erase option, but YouTube says it may fail when the song is difficult to remove. Muting all audio in the claimed segment is usually faster and more likely to clear the claim.
- Before saving an edit: review it carefully. Changes saved in Studio Editor since June 2025 cannot be reverted.
Keep future livestream audio easier to trace
For future FFmpeg productions, retain a local recording or separate audio capture when practical, and note the source inputs and approximate timeline. Those records give you something to compare with Studio’s claim interval; they do not prevent a claim or replace permission to use copyrighted material.
