If an old gaming replay stops or buffers while you’re on Airtel Xstream Fiber, first check whether the internet has dropped on other devices too. If it has, check the router/ONT and restart it once; if only YouTube is affected, troubleshoot playback on that device. Don’t assume Airtel or YouTube is at fault until you’ve narrowed down where the problem occurs.
First find out what has stopped working
A “gaming replay stream” might mean a recorded video you’re watching or a live gaming broadcast. Start by checking another app and another device on the same connection.
- Several devices and apps have no internet: Check the Airtel connection, ONT/router and service status.
- Only one device or YouTube video has a problem: Check Wi-Fi signal, that device, YouTube playback quality and the app or browser.
- You mean a live stream: If other viewers can watch but you cannot, the issue is more likely local to your device or network. If multiple viewers report errors, the stream or a broader network issue may be involved. This is a useful distinction, not a definitive diagnosis.
Airtel lists buffering and lag among examples of network issues in its Xstream Fiber troubleshooting guidance. That does not establish that every YouTube playback problem is caused by the broadband connection.
Check the Airtel equipment safely
- Confirm the ONT/router has power and its plugs are firmly connected.
- Check that the cable between the wall connection and the ONT/router appears seated. Handle the fiber patch cord gently: do not pull it, sharply bend it, wiggle it repeatedly or try to splice or repair it.
- Note the indicator labels and whether each light is on, off, blinking or red. Light meanings vary by modem model; a red LOS light is a reason to check connections and restart, but a light alone does not prove a specific fault.

Restart the ONT/router once and let it reconnect
- Disconnect power from the ONT/router.
- Wait for the lights to switch off, then wait 15–20 seconds before reconnecting power. Airtel’s troubleshooting instructions also say to allow at least 60 seconds before turning the system back on.
- Reconnect power and wait for the connection indicators to return before testing the internet. Avoid repeatedly power-cycling the equipment without a pause.
These are Airtel’s general restart instructions; exact indicator patterns can differ across ONT/router models. If service remains down, move to the connection checks below rather than trying to open the equipment.
Work out whether it is Wi-Fi or the broadband connection
Test near the router
Try the affected device near the router, with fewer walls or other obstructions between them. If that improves playback, Wi-Fi coverage may be contributing. In the Airtel Thanks app, the Wi-Fi optimization path described by Airtel is Broadband → My Wi-Fi → Wi-Fi → Optimize Wi-Fi, if that option is available for your account and app version.

Compare Wi-Fi with a wired connection
If you have a compatible computer and router/ONT, connect the computer by an RJ45 Cat5 or Cat6 Ethernet cable and test again. A wired connection that works while Wi-Fi does not points toward local wireless coverage or settings; failure on both makes a broader connection problem more plausible. Neither result conclusively diagnoses Airtel’s network, and Ethernet will not fix a fiber cut or faulty ONT/router.
If other internet works but YouTube playback does not
- Lower the video quality temporarily and see whether playback stabilizes. Check whether your connection speed is adequate for the selected resolution.
- Switch to a different network, if available, and try the same replay again. This can help separate a device/app issue from a problem on the current connection.
- Restart the YouTube app or browser and the device. Install available app or device updates, and clear the app cache where that option applies.
- Try another supported device. If the same replay fails on multiple devices while other services work, check YouTube’s playback troubleshooting steps and video playback errors guidance.
YouTube recommends at least 7 Mbps for HD streaming on a TV. That is YouTube’s recommendation for that specific playback context—not a guarantee for every device or stream, nor a household bandwidth target when other people or devices are using the connection.

If you meant a live gaming stream
Check whether the issue affects one viewer or several. YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting guidance says that a problem reported by one viewer is more likely to be local to that viewer’s connection or device; errors reported by multiple viewers can point to a wider network or stream-side problem. If other viewers can watch normally, use the Wi-Fi, wired-connection and device checks above before concluding the broadcast itself is down.
When to contact Airtel
If multiple devices remain offline after the basic checks and restart, or the ONT/router continues to show an abnormal LOS indicator, contact Airtel rather than attempting fiber repairs yourself. Airtel lists 24/7 broadband customer care at 9810012345. Its customer-care page asks existing customers to call from their registered mobile number and have their Landline or Airtel Relationship number ready.

When reporting the problem, share when it began, which devices and services are affected, the ONT/router model if visible, and the labels and pattern of its lights. This helps describe the fault without guessing at its cause; service status and repair timing require account-specific confirmation.
