Reports say the January 9, 2026, deadline was met. The reported cash totals differ by outlet, however, and the available reporting does not establish one reconciled exact figure.
Was Young Thug’s seized property returned?
Yes, according to January 2026 reporting: prosecutors met the court’s 5 p.m. deadline on January 9 to return the property. The order followed a separate ruling in August 2025 and the later dismissal of the state’s appeal. CBS Atlanta cited the deadline and reported that it was met; the Atlanta Journal-Constitution covered the appeal dismissal and order.
What property was ordered returned?
Reports describe cash, jewelry and multiple vehicles seized during the investigation. Named vehicles included a 2022 Chevrolet Corvette, a 2022 Porsche 911, Mercedes-Benz vehicles, a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, a 2018 Lamborghini and a Can-Am Spyder. Atlanta News First reported on the assets and return deadline.
Why do reports give different cash totals?
CBS Atlanta reported more than $149,000 in cash, while Atlanta News First reported $145,300. Those are outlet-attributed figures, not a single reconciled total; the available reports do not explain the difference. CBS Atlanta’s report and Atlanta News First’s report should therefore be read as reporting different amounts.

How did the return order unfold?
- August 2025: Judge Paige Reese Whitaker ruled that the seized property should be returned after the defense argued that the state had failed to hold a civil forfeiture hearing within the required 60-day window. 11Alive’s report covered that ruling.
- After the ruling: The state appealed.
- January 2026: Whitaker dismissed the appeal and ordered the property returned by 5 p.m. on January 9. Reporting said the deadline was met. The AJC reported on the appeal dismissal.
These were separate procedural steps: the August ruling directed the return, while the January decision dismissed the appeal and set the reported final deadline.
How does the order relate to Young Thug’s criminal case?
Young Thug is the stage name of Jeffery Williams. He pleaded guilty in October 2024 and was released subject to probation conditions. The property dispute continued after the resolution of his own trial; it concerned seized assets and their return, rather than a new verdict in that criminal case. NBC News reported on his plea and release.

What about reports that jewelry had already been returned?
One report said Williams had received jewelry in February 2025. Later coverage included jewelry in the broader property-return dispute. Those reports refer to different stages, and the available accounts do not provide a complete inventory showing which individual items were returned at each point. FOX 5 Atlanta reported the earlier jewelry return.
