Was Young Scooter shot?
No. The medical examiner’s report explicitly says the right-thigh injury was not a gunshot wound. That finding addresses the cause of the wound; it does not, by itself, answer every question about the surrounding encounter or police conduct.

How did he injure his leg?
The medical examiner said Bailey injured himself on wooden fencing material and/or woody debris after vaulting at least one fence. The report does not specify further details about the wound or the precise sequence of events, so those should not be inferred from its account.
Contemporary reporting described Bailey as being injured while fleeing during an encounter with police. Atlanta police said officers rendered aid and that Bailey was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital; FOX 5 reported that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was investigating at Atlanta police’s request.
