Lust is recognizable not just by her black outfit, but by the Ouroboros tattoo on her chest and claws she can transform into a piercing weapon. Those details give a cosplay roundup meaningful things to compare: how each creator interprets the character’s version, builds the silhouette, styles the wig, and uses pose and photography. The available examples are leads rather than a verified set of ten cleared images, so this article does not present a ten-cosplay gallery or claim a ranked list.
What makes Lust recognizable?
The official Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood character profile identifies Lust as the homunculus of “Lust,” notes the Ouroboros tattoo on her chest, and describes her transforming claws as “the strongest halberd,” able to pierce iron. The profile also characterizes her as a calculating, cold-blooded planner who takes command of Father’s schemes; she is defeated by Roy in the underground battle at the Third Laboratory. These character traits matter alongside the costume: a strong portrayal can convey her composure and authority, not only reproduce her appearance. Official character profile.
How to compare Lust cosplay examples
These are useful editorial comparison points, not official judging criteria. A roundup should identify the adaptation or color interpretation when the creator specifies it, rather than treating every version as interchangeable.
- Adaptation and color interpretation: Note whether the cosplayer identifies a particular version, such as the 2003 anime, or makes another interpretation. Do not infer a version from a photo alone.
- Ouroboros mark: Look at its placement, visibility, and how it is rendered. Avoid treating a tattoo as proof of accuracy if the image does not show it clearly.
- Garment and silhouette: Compare the fit, construction, and visible details of the outfit rather than relying on a general impression.
- Wig styling: Consider the shape, color, and finish visible in the photograph.
- Pose and expression: Lust’s measured, commanding characterization can inform a portrayal as much as costume details.
- Photography and setting: Lighting, framing, and background affect how clearly the costume and character choices read.

Community posts also point to individual Lust cosplay discussions, including posts titled around a 2003-version portrayal and a first full-body Lust cosplay. Other posts use practical phrasing such as “I’m dressing as Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist” and ask for help choosing cosplay materials. These show examples of fan discussion, not evidence of popularity or a verified gallery of ten distinct cosplayers. Community posts.
For a publishable ten-image roundup, each example needs to be opened and checked individually: verify the creator’s name or handle, the source and adaptation where known, that the image depicts Lust, and the rights or permission terms for display. Discovery snippets or profile listings alone are not enough to establish reuse permission.

Which Fullmetal Alchemist production is the reference?
The official US site credits Hiromu Arakawa for the original work, Yasuhiro Irie as director, and BONES for animation production; it lists Kikuko Inoue as Lust’s Japanese voice actor. Aniplex lists the TV anime’s run as April 2009 to January 2010. Keep those roles distinct: Arakawa is credited for the source work, while BONES is credited for animation production.
